Possibly the greatest moment in history

In the moment depicted by Tissot, Pilate asks Jesus whether he is the king of the Jews. Jesus replies that “My kingdom is not of this world” and that his purpose is to “bear witness to the truth.” At the conclusion of this interview, Pilate finds that Jesus has committed no crime and sends him to Herod.
Artist: James Tissot, French, 1836-1902

We remember, if we turn to the books of the New Testament, that possibly the greatest moment in history was when Pilate asked of the Master, “What is Truth?”

My Life as a Seer: The Lost Memoirs by Edgar Cayce, Page 278

What Is Truth? By Edgar Cayce

First printed in December, 1929.

… this ONE thing was continually held before the individual; that which you hold before yourself, to create that image you worship, that will develop you always upward, and will continue to enable you to know truth!

Truth, then, being a growing thing, truth being a thing that will develop you, is a something that is ENTIRELY IN ACTION! Not inactive, but IN ACTION! That’s what God is!

For in every MOVEMENT that has ever been, it has been a continual upward development, or upward toward that which IS Truth.

If you hold malice, you can become one of the meanest persons in the world.

You know that if you continue to send out thought (that may become a miracle or a crime); you create just those very same cross-currents in your mind.

What is prayer but simply attuning yourself to that which you are seeking assistance through? That’s all prayer is – attuning yourself to that very same thing.

That becomes Truth when it becomes in action. When it goes into action, to YOU it becomes Truth. It’s your own conception of what your God is.

If it makes you better to the very thing you worship, or more in accord with the thing you worship, THAT you become, whether it’s downward or upward, you go whichever way your standard is set.

Q. Yet if we are going backward, how can we know?

A. You can’t make it anything else, because to you it’s truth, because that’s what you are following. That becomes truth to you.

That which you continue to follow becomes truth whether it’s negative or positive.

As we learn it from that viewpoint, it becomes true; that is, whatever we hold that continues to build upward is Truth.

Now, as to who is to say whether you are building up, or as to how near it brings you to that thing you worship AS your God, because God IS Truth, if you continue to hold that, you may develop to that, but to someone else whose God might be something else, that wouldn’t be Truth.

Q. That applies right here in your hospital, etc.

A. If it answers one, it answers all. That’s what it stands for; that which may develop in the individual that understanding of its relation to its Maker and to its fellow man.

Or, as we come back to the very same thing I said in Sunday School this morning,

I’ve been studying a long while, trying to understand what is meant by the second commandment, and I never did know what it meant – that is, satisfactorily to my own mind – until the other night.

The first commandment, as we know, is, “Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and thy mind, etc.”

The second is, “Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image.”

Why? Because if you make an image it becomes your God.

But if you have for your God that which is within your own individual self, you yourself being a portion of the Creator, you will continue to build upward, to it!

Song of Solomon (1930) by Raban

Edgar Cayce on the Life & Times of Jesus: Introduction – This initial video segment sets up the story of Jesus from the perspective of the twentieth-century mystic Edgar Cayce. Cayce claimed to be able to “read” the “akashic records.” The Cayce “readings” are rich in detail on the cultural setting leading up to the nativity of Jesus. Cayce embeds the story of Jesus within a closely knit Essene support network. The Essenes were the Jewish group that is generally credited with having written the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Cayce readings are rich in detail on this enigmatic group.

The story is also rich in characters and events not included in the biblical accounts. For example, consider Ruth the sister of Jesus who married a roman (Philoas), the man who wrote the report that got Pontius Pilate recalled. Speaking of Pilate, perhaps his hesitation to condemn Jesus to death was more than just his wife’s bad dream. Cayce states that Jesus healed his epileptic son.

With the popularity of the DaVinci Code, all things Mary Magdalene are currently hot. Cayce sheds light on the character and relationships of this important woman and the reasons for the problematic discussion of her in the New Testament gospels.

The Cayce readings provide insight into the missing years in the life of Jesus, including travels to Persia, India, and Egypt where he studied with great teachers and wise men. And so on …

The story of the life and times of Jesus is grounded solidly in Cayce’s metaphysical cosmology that helps us to understand difficult (or seemingly impossible) events such as immaculate conception and virgin birth, materialization of food, and resurrection of the dead. The Cayce interpretation of the life of Jesus relies heavily on reincarnation with regard to both the previous life of the biblical characters and the twentieth century incarnation of these individuals.

The video segments of this story contain over 100 original illustrations by David McMillin and abundant quotes directly from the Cayce readings.

    To william.boyes@asu.edu

    Good day, professor.

I was hoping you could point me in the right direction.

Recently, the following was attributed to you:

“William Boyes, an economics professor at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, estimates that the government now owns or controls businesses that generate about one-third of U.S. economic activity. With the passage of the health care bill, which makes up about 18 percent of the economy, government’s involvement in the private sector has eclipsed the 50 percent threshold.”

    And you wrote here:

    May 26, 2010

    3. Data released recently show that

    the private sector accounted for only 42 percent of income;
the public sector accounted for 58 percent.
The Obamacare is a takeover of about 1/6 of the economy.
The student loan program is now totally a government industry.
The financial regulation bills mking their way through Congress is a government takover of another 1/6 of the economy.

“the government now owns or controls businesses that generate about (what percent) of U.S. economic activity”

    I’m interested in

    what percent the government owns
    what percent the government controls
what percent still in private hands

I found data for China in 2003:

“value added by firm ownership” China 2003

    Click to access cato%20china06.pdf

    Table 1 Page 277

    Private Sector 59.2
    Public Sector 40.8

I’m looking for same data for United States, other countries to compare and contrast. And I want to make sure I’m not comparing apples with oranges.

Thank you, professor. I would appreciate any and all help in this matter.

    I can’t find what I’m looking for because I don’t know the proper term(s).

  10. rosettasister Says:

    William Boyes

Thanks for contacting me. I would like to see your research when you finish.

Since you reliedon the OECD “value added” definitions for China, why don’t you use those for other countries?

Then you would be comparing apples to apples.

The problem I have with those data is that they don’t provide any measure of the influence of the state on private sector transactions .

It is really not very useful to claim that China’s state only affects about 40 % of total GDP.

But, good measures are difficult if not impossible to come by.

The statements of mine you refer to were taken from back of the envelope calculations using

    spending as % of GDP,

Cost of compliance to federal regulations as reported by Cato’s regulation,

the growth of Federal Regulations as measured by the Federal Register,

the size of the auto companies, health sector, and financial sector in the US economy.

I know this probably is not very helpful for what you want to do.

Sorry about that and good luck.

Barack became Lolo’s stepson the moment his marriage to Barack’s mother was consummated on the March 15, 1965.

Barry Soetoro’s 2nd grade school record indicates he was born in Honolulu, HI, his father is Lolo Soetoro and he is an Indonesian National.

    Adoptions are not instantaneous.

An Oath of Renunciation and a Statement of Understanding are requests for a Certificate of Loss of Nationality.

Several weeks or months or years may pass before US Citizenship is lost and citizenship with another country is obtained.

An examination of Barack’s Form SS-5, Application for Soc Sec Number, in the mid-70s would go a long way to identify whether Barack was a US Citizen or Legal Alien residing in the US.

The Soetoro Divorce shows the parties of the marriage having two (2) children, one under the age of eighteen (18) and one over the age of eighteen (18) (Soetoro/Obama) who was a full time student.

    See divorce papers below.

In divorces, you do not name a child as the child of the parents, like in the Soetoro Divorce, unless the child is legally the child of the divorcing parents.

In otherwords, if Lolo Soetoro was only a step-parent with no legal ties to Soetoro/Obama, then Soetoro/Obama would have never been named in the Soetoro Divorce.

    Monday, August 2, 2010 at 4:38 PM

Strunk is in opposition to a summary judgment filed by the DOJ in my case Strunk v DOS et al.

DCD 08-cv-2234 seeks further disclosure in regards to DOS spoliation of documents in regards to my request under FOIA the passport and related records of Stanley Ann Dunham et al..

    I have been awaiting these records and more since October 2008 when I first filed a FOIA request related to my active case in New York Supreme Court where the records will be used when the disposition of the Summary Judgment is complete;

Hopefully, I will receive the additional records that exist from 1960 onward too.

Clearly when the DOS release is combined with the US Customs and Immigration service release to Ken Allen amounting to about 90 pages shows that Lolo Soetoro and Ann Soetoro were having difficulties that would only explain the removal of BHO from her passport in 1968

especially since the Indonesian Government in Soetoro’s words, any American, was in jeopardy there in Indonesia due to the anti-American feelings”

is shown at page 103 of

attached to the U.S. Government memo of January 12, 1966 with pages marked 000077 through 000080

therein at page 000078 regarding Lolo Soetoros request for a INA section 212(e) waiver and two year extension for his stay in the USA with Ann Soetoro,

    (that according to the US Government document of August 6, 1968 all three returned to Indonesia on July 20, 1966);

    Soetoro states:

“Most importantly, anti-American feeling has reached a feverish pitch under the direction of the Indonesian communist party, and I have been advised by both family and friends in Indonesia that it would be dangerous to endeavor to return with my wife at the present time.

Of secondary importance is the fact that my wife does not yet speak Indonesian,

Not only would she be forced to cut short her college education, but she would be left in a position of isolation in the community,”

It appears from the cross comparison on both the Customs and DOS FOIA released documents that

on October 20, 1971 Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro (SADS) and BHO (a.k.a Saebarkah Soetoro) together boarded Pan Am Airlines Flight 812 unaccompanied by Lolo M. Soetoro in Djakarta Indonesia

and arrived in Honolulu Hawaii on October 21, 1971

and sought entry into the USA on an expired Passport issued July 19, 1965

with use of the expired Passport of July 19, 1965 shown as page 6 of

It is important to discover whether or not based upon SADS’ August 13, 1968 Passport Renewal Application to DOS shown as page 3 and 4 of

    SADS excluded Saebarkah Soetoro (BHO)from her Passport of July 19, 1965;

and therefore, left no way for BHO

who is presumed to also have the right to an Indonesian Passport under Lolo Soetoro

to reenter the USA with SADS except by use of the expired July 19 1965 passport.

    That Declarant

among other items of interest in the analysis presented by Dr Corsi in his Worldnet Daily Article (WND)

    takes issue with the insinuation that the 1965 edition of SADS passport was only good for 3 years when in fact it was to expire July 18, 1970 according to the actual reference by the US Government shown in the upper right corner of the application located at page 3;

however in August 13 1968 SADS made an early application to renew the 1965 to remove BHO (a.k.a. Saebarkah Soetoro) from her own passport.

At that time, Lolo Soetoro was in a difficult effort with the State Department and US Customs and Immigration to obtain reentry into the USA and needed to reflect Saebarkah Soetoro (BHO) as an Indonesian for his own safety.

That Saebarkah Soetoro (BHO) according to his own writing in 1971 would re-enter back into the USA to live with his Grandma Madelyn Dunham

Except for the fact that the Exception request for use of the expired July 19, 1965 passport

without use of an American passport as Saebarkah Soetoro as an Indonesian citizen

which he was also entitled to an Indonesian Passport made without being on SADS renewed Passport of August 13 1968

made it easier for Saebarkah Soetoro / BHO to travel and obtain a renewed Indonesian Passport,

rather than a British or even Kenyan passport that would be more difficult to explain or obtain to the Indonesian Government

(having a USA passport there in Indonesian would dangerously expose Lolo Soetoro to government scrutiny since BHO was born in Kenya not the USA was adopted by Lolo Soetoro as a Indonesian citizen).

Thereafter 1971, Saebarkah Soetoro living in the USA went to the Indonesian Embassy in Hawaii

to obtain or renew the Indonesian passport

as part of his college funding program

and that in 1981 through 1984 was then used while attending Columbia University

to enter Indonesia, Pakistan and Afghanistan

while working for Zbigniew Brzezinski then of the Scholl of Foreign Affairs and the National Security Council with the Carter Administration and Reagan Administration transition.

Constituting a Culture of Death: Tomorrow’s Vote in Kenya

    August 03, 2010

    By Kathryn Jean Lopez

Terrence McKeegan, vice president and senior counsel at the Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute

Q: And what about sharia? Does it really mandate sharia justice for Muslims?

A: The constitution provides for kadhi (sharia) courts throughout the country that would have authority over some legal areas for Muslims.

This is not only a threat to Christians, who have no similar courts outlined in the constitution, but also to the more moderate Muslims who would be subject to them and may not agree with some of the more fundamentalist teachings that these courts might subscribe to.

Even more problematic for religious freedom is the fact that, while constitution grants everyone the right to manifest his religion,

*** it deliberately omits the rights to promote one’s religion or to change one’s religion ***

rights that are guaranteed in Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

While many might question how the U.S. could support this constitution in light of the lack of religious-freedom rights,

it has been noted by some observers that there has been a subtle but seismic shift in the administration’s emphasis:

*** from promoting a comprehensive right to freedom of religion to a much more limited right to freedom of worship ***

The Kenyan constitution seems to fit in well with this new conception.

‘No’ makes its final ‘free’ Kenya message

They were upbeat in proclaiming a ‘No’ win when the referendum results are announced at the Bomas of Kenya tallying centre in Nairobi 48 hours after tomorrow’s vote.

“We have finished our long campaign here because yours is a historic location, and we do not want to entrench international conventions that would enslave Kenyans just to please some foreign masters,” said Ruto.

Elsewhere, there was tension in Baringo Central, when the ‘Yes’ team ran into a hostile crowd at Kabarnet High School.

Police fired tear-gas at the crowd that shouted ‘No! No! No!’ at Cabinet Minister James Orengo, Assistant Ministers Magerer Langat and Sotik MP Joyce Laboso who had arrived at the school ground to address a rally.

The three, who were accompanied by nominated MP Musa Sirma, continued with their rally after police intervention, as the crowd standing outside the fence continued booing them.

The crowd waved ‘No’ red cards and shouted menacingly forcing Kabarnet Deputy OCPD Samuel Muthamia to intervene.

At the Coast, the ‘No’ campaigners asked Kenyans to overwhelmingly vote “No” and shame those keen to impose foreign and immoral practices on their motherland.

The Ground Zero Mosque: Why or Why Not?

    Posted by: Hugh Hewitt

Here’s my short set of answers.

I do not believe the Ground Zero mosque should be built.

I oppose it because the land and buildings damaged by the assault are now part of the sacred space of America’s great civic religion.

I would oppose the construction of any sectarian project there that wasn’t a rebuild of an existing sectarian use for the same reason.

There is no formal designation for the sacred spaces of America’s civic religion though they extend from the Mall to the Arizona Memorial.

The land around Ground Zero is very much part of that space, and any project that politicizes it or brings a religious purpose to those sites should be refused.

If the City of New York will not protect the property from politicization or the use by any religious group, then the federal government ought to use its spending power to secure the result.

Federal laws routinely interfere with the use of private property and the decisions of state and local government –see, for example, Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act– and the federal government has every right to closely patrol the purposes to which the Ground Zero area will be put.

It was a national trauma, felt most intensely and uniquely in New York, but there is an issue here for every American.

I will devote a great deal of today’s show to this topic.

Watch to see if anyone in the MSM can bear to pose these difficult questions to President Obama and other federal office holders.

    Meet the New Radicals

    Monday , August 02, 2010

    By Glenn Beck

If you want to see what this looks like when the radicals really gear up, look no further than Greece.

The Guardian is reporting on the rise of a group called the Sect of Revolutionaries.

They’ve been described as “more murderous, dangerous, capable and nihilistic than ever before.”

They’ve now declared that “tourists should learn that Greece is no longer a safe haven of capitalism.”

And they have promised to set up attacks on police, businessmen, prison guards, the “corrupt” media and, for the first time, tourists.

They’ve also claimed responsibility in the murder of an investigative journalist, who was shot dead at his home in front of his pregnant wife.

    The ends justify the means.

There are crazies on both sides of the aisle — left, right, up down and in the middle.

But one side has an orchestrated history of terror and violence and it’s starting to rear its ugly head again.

No one on TV has preached more that violence is not the answer than me.

But when I do, the leftists say, Hmm, why would you have to say that unless your crazy listeners weren’t one push away from a shooting spree?

I say it for the same reason Martin Luther King said it.

For the same reason the left said it with their MAP for social movements.

It’s a human condition when your back is against the wall, you want to push back.

As soon as anyone does that, not only is it just plain wrong, but you also destroy the movement. You lose.

But I also say it because I’ve seen the record.

SEIU has a history of violence against the tea parties: beating a black man, biting off a finger, physical intimidation.

SDS has a history of violence from the ’60s with the Weather Underground.

And the same SDS members have started a new SDS and on their first visible outing they have arrests while shouting at the “pigs.”

I challenge SEIU to have their members sign a pledge of nonviolence and actually mean it.

I’d have a hard time taking that seriously, since SDS and SEIU members believe in Saul Alinsky who taught that the ends justify the means.

The throwing of water bottles at cops in Arizona is just the tip of the iceberg.

We’ve seen what these radical groups did in the past: They got violent.

Now it’s the same radicals teaching our kids how to do the same.

    Don’t disregard the warning signs.

    Circumstances created SB 1070

But when Gov. Jan Brewer was finally fed up with inaction and took a firm stand on the issue by signing SB 1070 into law both supporters and opponents seemed to come out of the woodwork, all chiming in with their opinion about why it was a good move, a bad move, an unconstitutional move or a legal piece of Legislation.

It seems to me that the most vocal people on both sides are the ones who get all of the press yet are also the ones who have not read the law and take an extreme position on one or the other end of the debate based on a lack of information and understanding.

But at least from my perspective the real issue is getting lost in the quagmire as a result of those extreme political opinions geared towards appeasing whoever they need to in order to secure votes in November.

For me it comes down to one simple concept and I really don’t care who does it as long as it gets done.

Stop debating the issue and secure the border so my family (and myself) is safe from the drug cartels who seem to be able to come and go across the border as they please and threaten to kill everyone and anyone (including law enforcement) who gets in their way.

That is what we pay the politicians to do…so do it already, after all they are all employed by us, the people, the ones who are out here on the front lines.

US Senate Budget Chiefs Says Deficit Path Is Very Troubling

Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad and Sen. Judd Gregg, the ranking Republican on the Budget panel, said Tuesday that the U.S.’s current fiscal policy, if continued, would be ruinous for the nation.

In opening comments at a Budget Committee hearing on the U.S. economy, both Conrad and Gregg described the nation’s fiscal outlook as grim, even ominous.

Conrad said that budget deficits in the U.S. are likely to fall significantly from their current level of about $1.4 trillion as the American economy gains strength.

But “not sharply enough,” Conrad said, adding that President Obama’s budget shows deficits falling in the first five years and then beginning to rise.

Some estimates show, Conrad said, that the U.S.’s current fiscal course would lead to a debt of 400% of GDP by 2054.

“That cannot be the course for the country,” Conrad said.

“That would add too much to the debt,” he said.

Conrad said that a debt load of that level would crush the nation.

“It is absolutely imperative we develop a plan and implement a plan,” Conrad said.

Gregg agreed that U.S. fiscal policy is in need of a total overhaul.

“The path we’re on is not sustainable as a nation,” he said.

Gregg said the clear focus of fiscal reform efforts should be on federal spending.

He said the federal government is on a path to consume 27% of GDP in the near future, a huge increase from its historic norm about 19% of GDP.

(This measure probably a good one in terms of our diminishing private sector.)

“We cannot fill this gap (with revenues).

The government has grown too much,” he said.

Gregg said that policymakers now face a “very complicated two step” challenge as they seek to fortify the “slow, slow” recovery while taking steps to reign in long-term deficits.

Conrad also expressed concern about the strength of the recovery.

“We are seeing recovery decelerate. That has to be a concern to all of us,” he said.

(Conrad is the reason there were reconciliation instructions in budget which were in part responsible for ballooning deficits and debt. Thanks a lot, Conrad, you idiot!)

Why Paul Ryan Makes Democrats Nervous

“It’s really important, I think, not to run campaigns on some vague platitudes and rip down the other party, to hopefully win an election by default,” he said.

“You have to win an election by acclamation, by aspiration, by telling people who you are and what you are going to do, and then go do it once you get there.”

Quotes like that show why people like Paul Ryan.

His ability to speak plainly about the country’s problems, and to propose specific common-sense solutions, are becoming

*** the alternative to President Obama’s big-spending, highly partisan, unlimited government agenda ***

That’s why he makes Democrats, not Republicans, in the House so nervous.

    SvenMagnussen 03. Aug, 2010 at 1:21 pm

No! What it means (your quoted emphasis) as it pertains to BO is that a Certificate of Loss of Nationality issued to him as a minor may be revoked without adjudication by a US Court until 6 months after the child’s 18th birthday.

A CLN issued to an adult can only be revoked by a US Court.

If a minor is issued a CLN, then it is valid unless revoked by the minor until he or she reaches the age of 18 1/2 years.

After the minor is 18 years and 6 months old, the CLN can only be revoked by a court order.

The Obama administration has modified the FAM to say a CLN issued to a minor may be revoked until 6 months after the minor’s 18th birthday by filling out a passport application and stating an oath of loyalty to the US.

Previous administrations have required a formal statement of revocation and a loyalty oath.

If BO didn’t renounce his US citizenship, then why change the FAM as it pertains to minors renouncing their citizenship?

While the threat is still real, the shadow looming across a promising future is gone.

And the credit for that goes to one man.

Like the last lion of England, Winston Churchill, George W. Bush has stood alone and risked all to give the world a new, clearer path to the advancement of freedom.

Abraham Lincoln, in his second annual message to Congress, stated:

“In giving freedom to the slave, we assure freedom for the free — honorable alike in what we give and what we preserve. We shall nobly save or meanly lose the last, best hope of earth.”

George Bush has injected into a region of enslavement an incurable dose of freedom, and thus nobly saved that “last, best hope of earth” — free men.

(Of course, Pamela couldn’t see what was to come. None of us could.)

Moreover, Appellant believes Appellee’s foreign birth was registered in the State of Hawaii as permitted pursuant to the 1955 Laws on the books, Chapter 57 “Vital Statistics”, Section §57-8 Compulsory Registration of Births; §57-9 Local Registrar to Prepare Birth Certificate.

These statutes were since revised in 1982 as Section 338-17.8.

Appellant further discovered when Appellee was approximately six [6] years old, his mother, after divorcing Barack Hussein Obama’s father, married Lolo Soetoro, M.A. an Indonesian citizen and relocated with his mother to Jakarta, Indonesia.

During the investigation into these matters, Appellant learned Appellee attended public school in Jakarta, Indonesia, where only citizens of Indonesia could attend.

It was further discovered that Appellee Obama’s school record indicated that he attended school under the name of Barry Soetoro, an Indonesian Citizen.

The Indonesian public schools verified with the Indonesian Government the name and citizenship status of all enrolled children.

The only way Appellee could have been enrolled in the public school system in Jakarta, Indonesia is if his step- father, Lolo Soetoro, M.A., adopted him and/or signed an Indonesian Government “Acknowledgement” form legally acknowledging Appellee, Barack Hussein Obama as his son.

In Indonesia the child takes the surname of the father.

At this point, it didnot matter where Appellee was born or the

    Page 18

citizenship status of his birth parents. Once adopted and/or his birth was “acknowledged” by Lolo Soetoro, M.A., Appellee became a “natural citizen” of Indonesia and his legal name became Barry Soetoro.

No records have been located where Barry Soetoro a/k/a Barack Hussein Obama went through U.S. Immigration in 1971 when he was ten [10] years old, upon his return to the United States, which would be required to assume United States “naturalized” citizenship status and therefore, the lack thereof, he would be an “illegal alien”.

In addition, absolutelyno records have been located showing where Barry Soetoro legally changed his name back to Barack Hussein Obama.

Even if Appellee could have regained any United States Citizenship status upon his eighteenth [18th] birthday, he would have been required to file a sworn Affidavit with the Indonesian Government relinquishing his Indonesian Citizenship, and taking the Oath of Allegiance in the United States, which would be recorded.

Indonesia in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s did not recognize dual citizenship and required the relinquishment of any other citizenship status upon becoming an Indonesian citizen.

The United States would not interfere with the citizenship status of any foreign citizen.

    Page 19

As a result, as the records in possession of the Appellant suggest, Appellee is still an Indonesian Citizen and his legal name is Barry Soetoro and not Barack H. Obama.

    Arrogance in Washington

    Tuesday , August 03, 2010

    By Glenn Beck

… they are only telling the truth on half of it. Are they really empowering you and lying about being arrogant?

Or are they truly elitists and getting you to be like sheep to be led into the barn — that’s for you to decide. But it’s kind of obvious.

    Have you ever played poker?

Pete Stark is a tell — something that gives away your hand.

These guys are at best a tell, but I think more so they are just tired of playing the game: We’re close, let’s just take it!

Same with progressive Bill Maher, who says the stupid people have to be dragged into health care:

BILL MAHER, HBO: Forget this stuff. You can’t get Americans to agree on anything. Sixty-percent?

Sixty-percent of people don’t believe in evolution in this country.

He just needs to drag them to it. Like I just said, they’re stupid. Just drag them to this. Get health care done with or without them…

America, you might think these are isolated events, that they are not connected.

But here’s what about Walter Lippman — icon in the press industry — says:

“The common interests very largely elude public opinion entirely and can be managed only by a specialized class whose personal interests reach beyond the locality.”

In other words: You’re too stupid or greedy to understand.

How about when the president’s favorite blog, Arianna Huffington’s The Huffington Post, wanted to understand Sarah Palin.

Here’s Arianna’s conclusion: “It’s not Palin’s positions people respond to — it’s her use of symbols.”

No, that’s not what it is. They like the fact that she’s real. She says what she means and means what she says.

People are starving for someone that is real, not calculating. Does Arianna believe Sarah Palin is equal to her? Of course not.

How about President Obama, who knows the Cambridge police acted stupidly and knows the Arizona police will act stupidly.

He doesn’t need to meet the head of BP, he already knows what those people are like.

Does he believe all men are created equal?

I think it’s important to distinguish between “universal coverage” and “government-run” health care.

Switzerland has “universal coverage” and an “individual mandate” but there is NO government-run healthcare.

And it seems to work and citizens have bought into it.

If the good citizens of Massachusetts want RomneyCare, isn’t that up to them?

So long as taxpayers from other states aren’t footing the bill?

But we are a republic, and I don’t believe a federal individual mandate can pass constitutional muster.

What can be repealed or changed or improved remains to be seen.

I really do believe the vast majority of Americans would buy into HCR if it approached the Swiss model.

What really scares most of us who oppose Obama is the growing public sector and the diminishing private sector.

“Those who are here in this state illegally, my deputies will still ask about their status in this country and will arrest on existing state and federal immigration violations.

State violators will be booked into my jail and federal violators will be turned over to authorities,” Arpaio said.

Another Arizona sheriff, Paul Babeu of Pinal County, said

“the federal government refuses to secure the border and leaves it to states like Arizona to bear the costs of its inaction.

Yet, when we try to do the job they won’t do, in a manner consistent with federal law, they stop us.”

“It’s a sad day in America when our own President has directed his attorney general to provide terrorists Miranda rights, yet fights to deny law enforcement the very tools needed to determine if an illegal is in America legally,” Babeu said.

Groups of protestors waved Mexican flags, signs with swastikas and banners depicting Che Guevara as they marched in downtown Phoenix.

“Haven’t we been over this, that Indonesia does not allow adoptions of children older than 4 or 5?”

The Soetoro adoption process began in 1965 and not 1967. Barack was four. Adoptions are not instantaneous and can take years.

When it comes to minors, the State Department will issue passports to perspective adoptees pending final adjudication in the adoptees new name; as well as, a Certificate of Loss of Nationality when the destination country is a non-Hague convention country.

As I’ve mentioned before, a CLN issued to a minor is revocable without a US Court appearance.

If the non-Hague Country adoption is not finalized, the perspective adoptee can have the adoptee passport cancelled and be issued a passport in their birth name.

But that does not revoke the Certificate of Loss of Nationality.

The CLN can only be revoked with an affirmative statement of revocation and a loyalty oath.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama can produce a passport under Barack Hussein Obama II after the Barry Soetoro passport was issued.

The change in the FAM is a perpetuation of the theory his BHO II Passport was a de facto canceling of his CLN.

The flaw in this theory is that it lacks a loyalty oath.

Pardon my language, but can you believe the title of the recent movie “Dinner for Schmucks”?

The last word — this is kind of embarrassing — is an obscene Yiddish term for male genetalia.

If you grew up around people who actually knew how to speak Yiddish (as opposed to, say, people who watch a lot of “Seinfeld”), the term is offensive.

“Never utter schmuck lightly, or in the presence of women and children,” Leo Rosten wrote in “The Joys of Yiddish,” a dictionary published in 1968.

Not so with the latest linguistic gem from former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

In an appearance this week on “Fox News Sunday,” she used a Spanish vulgarism in contrasting Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and President Barack Obama on the issue of border security.

“Jan Brewer has the cojones that our president does not have,” Palin said.

Think about that: the would-be Mama Grizzly in Chief chose not just a male term, but a Spanish macho term, to describe what she sees as the courage of a fellow female on an issue that affects Spanish-speaking individuals.

It’s kind of brilliant, in its way.

    The “Who Decides” Election

    Posted by: Hugh Hewitt

A disconnect between rulers and ruled

I believe that there is a deep, deep disconnect between the elites and the mainstream, and the anger that is surging on both sides of the divide grows out of the sense that majorities are being trampled on.

Left-wing activists point at the Senate and argue that a minority of Republican senators is blocking the majority’s will.

Center-right activists applaud those Republicans as representatives of the genuine mainstream and point to the votes and polls noted above and argue that the current Congressional majorities are false positives, unrepresentative of where the country truly is, delivered in large part by

*** an Obama-awed MSM dominated by Journolistas moving in lock step to promote the left’s agenda. ***

In fact we have –or ought to have– a system of mediated majorities, or Constitutional majoritarianism.

It should take a while to push the country very far in one direction or the other.

We are not built for rapid change, and big elections can be false positives, as 2008 increasingly appears to have been.

The refusal and arrogance of many electeds from the president and Speaker Pelosi to Mayor Bloomberg is an attempt to storm past this obvious fact, and the push back was on display in Missouri this week.

The self-righteous and angry rhetoric of scorn and indignation

employed by Bloomberg and the opponents of Prop 8 this week, and routinely by the president and his Congressional allies over the past many months,

provide the perfect fuel for the fires of the neopopulism of the Tea Parties.

The vast majority of Tea Party participants are mainstream Americans who work hard, pay taxes –lots and lots of taxes– and are concerned about the huge lurch left.

They are fearful about the incompetence of the economic team and the vast gusher of deficit spending which continues to flow out of D.C. –another $26 billion Wednesday!– and they are concerned that their childrens’ futures are being compromised by ideological zealots.

They are sick to death of the media gamesmanship of “summits” and the president’s refusal to answer questions directly or to engage his political opponents with other than sneers.

*** Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are the “leaders” of the left and they are mean-spirited and do not appear to be either very bright or at all good humored. ***

    (LOL! I love it!)

Barbara Boxer’s dressing down of a soldier for daring to call her ma’am is the perfect summation of

the cultural divide over which this election will be fought,

though Judge Walker’s diktat re the overturning of thousands of years of Western civilization and Bloomberg’s arrogant lecture is going to give Boxer a run for first place in the elitist sweepstakes.

(I had to read this last part a few times before getting it. LOL!)

So that is where we are, 98 days from what may well be a historic “U Turn” election.

The stakes are very very high, and the left has gone a long way beyond their previously announced goals and agendas.

The left is, in a word, exposed.

Clarity is a wonderful thing, as my friend Dennis Prager likes to say.

As August unfolds, there isn’t any need to guess which way the Democrats and the cultural left wants to take the country.

The only question is whether the country wants to go along, and that will be answered on November 2.

“whether the country wants to go along”

No, if Americans knew what they were getting themselves into, they never would have voted for Obama or these Dem majorities in the first place.

  116. rosettasister Says:

Main Street may be about to get its own gigantic bailout.

Rumors are running wild from Washington to Wall Street that the Obama administration is about to order government-controlled lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to forgive a portion of the mortgage debt of millions of Americans who owe more than what their homes are worth.

The key date to watch is August 17 when the Treasury Department holds a much-hyped meeting on the future of Fannie and Freddie.

On August 3, a top Morgan Stanley economist recommended to the Senate Budget Committee that Fannie and Freddie ease their lending standards to allow millions of Americans to refinance their mortgages.

    3) Keep in mind the political and economic context. The nascent recovery is already running out of steam.

*** Wall Street economists just downgraded the government’s second-quarter GDP estimate of 2.4 percent to around 1.7 percent. ***

And as even Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is warning, the unemployment rate may well begin to rise back toward the politically toxic 10 percent level given such sluggish growth.

Many in the White House thought the unemployment rate would be dropping sharply by this point in the recovery.

    But that is not happening.

What is happening is that the president’s approval ratings are continuing to erode, as are Democratic election polls.

Democrats are in real danger of losing the House and almost losing the Senate.

The mortgage Hail Mary would be a last-gasp effort to prevent this from happening and to save the Obama agenda.

The political calculation is that the number of grateful Americans would be greater than those offended that

*** they — and their children and their grandchildren — would be paying for someone else’s mortgage woes. ***

    4) And don’t think the White House is worried about financial market reaction.

If they thought it would pass Congress, they would be submitting a $200 billion Stimulus 2.0 (3.0?, 4.0?) right now.

August is supposed to be a slow month for Washington politics.

    But maybe not this one.

(How on earth are Repubs in Senate going to be able to filibuster this?!)

Repubs should get out in front on this one.

This means higher deficits, more debt.

Unless Repubs can get something in return, like extending ALL Bush tax cuts.

It’s both parties. One is a jet fighter the other is riding horse and buggy, but the destination is the same: Big spending, arrogance and corruption.

Do you remember when Nancy Pelosi promised to drain “the swamp” of big spending, corruption and arrogance back in 2006?

    Now she’s claiming victory:

SPEAKER OF HOUSE NANCY PELOSI, D-CALIF.: When I came in, I said we’ll drain the swamp. And we did. We passed the most sweeping ethics reform in the history of the Congress.

Does anyone think we are better on corruption now?

Even the slimiest of the slime in Washington, Barney Frank, said Maxine Waters was wrong.

Washington views corruption as standard fare.

The president said Charlie Rangel, facing multiple ethical charges, should retire now “with dignity.” Dignity?

If you or I did what he did we’d have been in jail.

Retire with dignity? Why didn’t we just let Bernie Madoff retire with dignity?

That’s the division of the ruling class yet again. You go to jail, but they retire with dignity.

Then, Al Sharpton comes out and says this:

REV. AL SHARPTON: If you begin to see a pattern of people being called on to be investigated, allegations that end up [to be] nothing.

One would be very naive not to say “well, wait a minute, why should we rush to judgment?”

Particularly when we have Charlie Rangel, who has done so much for his district and the country and Maxine Waters.

And we’ve already seen two high-profile black leaders hit heavy by the media and then nothing’s there.

The more things change, the more things stay the same.

I told you back in January that they would divide us on race.

How did I know? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist; just know history.

When progressives get in trouble — backs against the wall — they do things like play the race card.

That’s why they fire people, because they think we might talk about their record.

They are running scared! The case falls apart when the record is corrected.

Does anyone remember the accusations made by John Lewis? He was spat on and said the N word?

We all heard that story, but did anyone see the correction from The New York Times?

They removed this story because it’s never been proved.

Has anyone talked about that? No. The desired message was sent.

    Mission accomplished.

We’re being divided. Put into boxes and kept there.

If they can get 5 percent here and 7 percent there, pit us against each other, they get to keep their power.

    America, we are being used.

  118. rosettasister Says:

I don’t like this at all.

Glenn Beck, you’re right, they are dividing us.

    But so are you.

Please, there is no comparison between Obama, Reid, Pelosi and House and Senate Republicans.

It should be clear to all by now that one-party rule is devastating to our republic.

Keep your eye on the prize!

The tea party is a net positive for Republicans.

And Repub candidates would do well to remember that and not use words that alienate voters.

Senators look to undermine SB1070 ruling

Arizona’s two U.S. senators may have found a loophole in the recent temporary injunction placed on SB 1070.

A report from Capitol Media Services said Thursday that a proposal by Sens. Jon Kyl and John McCain would send $20 million to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to hire 150 new staff members for its national Law Enforcement Support Center.

The proposal is pending approval by Congress.

While this all seems a bunch of politicking, it means one major thing: U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton just lost one reason for placing an injunction on the most controversial parts of SB 1070.

In her ruling, Bolton said that the increase in citizenship verification requests from Arizona would cause more work for the call center employees and also infringe upon national security, as it processes requests from the FBI, Secret Service and other law enforcement and employers nationwide.

While Kyl admitted the point of this proposal was not to invalidate the law, it could compromise the ruling when it hits the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in November after an appeal by Gov. Jan Brewer.

She claims that Arizona is bearing the burden from an influx in illegal immigrants who are forcing the state to spend money on education, health care and incarceration.

The ad urges voters to re-elect Arpaio, who isn’t up for re-election until 2012, while criticizing Romely.

If he’s advocating anything approaching a New World Order, I would be very wary, indeed.

But I want to listen before I formulate an opinion on his testimony.

He may have the best of intentions, but if he believes all ETs to be “good guys” then I would have a problem with that.

Former Minister of National Defense in Canada, Paul Hellyer discussed how Col. Philip J. Corso’s work on UFOs inspired him to get involved with UFO disclosure, and the implications it has for the future of the planet.

He personally spoke with a retired Air Force General who confirmed Corso’s information, and told him that the US military had face-to-face meetings with ETs.

In 2005, Hellyer attracted international attention by going public with his belief in UFOs.

There were attempts to reverse-engineer and study ET technology in Canada, such as Project Magnet, said Hellyer.

Though this project fizzled out after a few years in the 1950s, its director, Wilbert Smith, was convinced that ETs were benign, and light years ahead of us in technology.

“I think the extraterrestrials are totally frustrated with us because they know we’ve got this wonderful planet…and we’re mucking it up…but presumably they have some rules about direct interference,” said Hellyer.

One of the most important reasons for UFO disclosure is to make use of their technology and energy systems so that we can save the planet, he added.

His new book, Light at the End of the Tunnel outlines how the human species is headed for extinction unless we confront environmental issues such as global warming, the economic disaster brought on by the current banking system, and the warring between various religions.

Regarding making changes to the banking system, he recommended the plan of action put forth on the website Victory for the World.

Melinda Leslie on Dr. Michael Salla and Dr. Greer

After my first draft of this article was already written, I came across a paper by Dr. Michael Salla, one of the lead researchers in the Exopolitics movement of ufology, on his website

titled Exopolitics Vs. Exospin: A Response to Dr. Steven Greer, where he critiques Dr. Greer’s views and wrote:

“…Greer regularly refers to the (MILABS) phenomenon offered by Dr. Helmut_Lammer to support his thesis that all alleged abuses attributed to extraterrestrials can be ascribed to MILABS imitating extraterrestrials or to individuals projecting psychological traumas onto benign extraterrestrial visitors.

This is a distortion of the evidence provided by Dr. Lammer who does not exclude the possibility that extraterrestrials are violating human rights during the abduction phenomenon, only that the military is attempting to replicate extraterrestrial methods and violating human rights in the process.”

“…While his effort to spin data concerning extraterrestrial activities in a positive light may be perceived by some to be well intentioned, it is in reality both naive and dangerous to distort public perceptions in this manner given the extensive data suggesting that

extraterrestrials have been involved in systematic human rights violations and that some government agencies have been complicit in these.”

Dr. Salla goes on to say Greer’s view is:

“…a highly selective approach that supports a preconceived conclusion of only advanced benign extraterrestrial visitors to our planet.”

And Dr. Salla points out that Greer’s view is at odds with many of his own Disclosure Project witness testimonies.

Thank you Dr. Salla, apparently I’m not alone.

When I spoke to Dr. Greer, I told him I would like to talk with his insider contacts and he vehemently refused.

I wonder if given the chance to interview these individuals, I might discover their experiences are actually more consistent with what one might expect from a MILAB perpetrator.

I suspect the information might be more in line with the case evidence and not so supportive of Dr. Greer’s limited view that there are “no bad ETs”.

Fellow MILAB researcher Joe Montaldo and I have both spoken with such insider types, who have claimed to be involved as perpetrators, but so far those accounts have only supported the abductees’ experiences and not one of these individuals has ever said they perpetrated a completely false ET abduction scenario.

The idea that abductions are mind control experiments can originally be attributed to a publication written by researcher Martin Cannon titled

The Controllers: A New Hypothesis of Alien Abduction, 1989,

in which Mr. Cannon, in reality, made the argument that a covert mind control program may account for some alien abductions.

In a conversation I had with Mr. Cannon, he expressed anger and frustration that so many people in ufology had taken his paper to mean that he was claiming that all ET abductions were mind control experiments, when in fact he only meant to suggest a possible explanation for “some” ET experiences.

He actually thought many abductions probably were carried out by ETs and said his theory was only that, a theory.

After our discussion, I asked him to provide me with a statement in writing clarifying this for the record, and he did.

This document states clearly that he offered The Controllers only as a possible theory and that he has always supported an alien hypothesis as well.

(I haven’t listened to entire Hellyer interview. But my advice is don’t trust all ETs, don’t trust humans who tell you to trust all ETs, and if you are an abductee, don’t even trust your own memories.)
