Twelve Wicker Baskets

Jesus multiplied bread and fish to feed the crowd.

Mk 6:41-44

Then, taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to (his) disciples to set before the people; he also divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied. And they picked up twelve wicker baskets full of fragments and what was left of the fish. Those who ate (of the loaves) were five thousand men.

I’m back – My daughter is doing much better. Ankle was dislocated but the chest/shoulder area was just severely strained and bruised. Nothing broken. Thank the Lord. She is still in pain in her back and hips, but hopefully the chiropractor will have success with re-aligning everything. She will be going everyday for adjustments for the next 4 months.

Rose – I love the topic of your thread. That is one of my favorite stories in the Bible.

Sorry I haven’t been posting very much…I haven’t felt so great since Sunday night…I’m not oinking, so I know I don’t have the flu…Not sure what has got a hold of me, but I feel like poop!…Kind of washed out feeling and hard to put one foot in front of the other…Does that make any sense?

  9. Troy Says:

jr, glad to hear your daughter doesn’t have broken bones!…She’ll be sore for a while.

  12. jrinNC Says:

Thanks Troy – yes she is going to be very sore.

I hope you aren’t coming down with the flu period. You are experiencing one of the early symptoms – lethargic.

Start taking immediately Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and Echincea, eliminate sugar from your diet as much as you can and get plenty of rest. Drink lots of water or juice. Of course if you ever got MSM that should also do it too. I never did get any of the MSM, but I do take the other daily. If I feel like I might be coming down with something I double up on the dosages. Works for me and there was a period of 2 weeks ago I thought I was coming down with something but never did.

  13. jrinNC Says:

Not much news tonight – you all posted it earlier today 🙂

So I am going to call it a night myself.

Troy I suggest you hit the sack early tonight. Take a couple of aspirin before you go to bed too.

  15. Troy Says:

This started Sunday night so if it were the flu I would already have cold- like symptoms.

I only slept for an hour Sunday night and Monday morning I had freaky high blood pressure…A relative gave me a blood pressure pill and I was back to normal in about an hour.

BP has been fine since then, but I feel like I have been hit by a truck.

  16. jrinNC Says:

Ok, now you have told me the real story – it was the BP pill – there are some that will make you feel like you are a zombie. Been there, done that. I have had high BP since I was 26 years old and that has been a very long time. Ran the full gamut of so many different kinds of meds until they found the right combination. But I do recall there were some that made me feel exactly as you describe. Hate to say it, but GET TO A DOCTOR.

  17. cynkading Says:

Oh Rosie you do know how to make me laugh…..I am so glad you are back with all of us…We love you. 🙂

  18. cynkading Says:

Troy feel better…jr, thanks for the update on your daughter.

  19. Troy Says:

jr, I was feeling exactly like this before the BP pill…An hour after the BP pill I felt almost back to my old self…Slept, woke up and felt like crap again, but with NO more high BP.

  20. Troy Says:

I sure do miss JB…I’m starting to get really worried about her.

  21. Troy Says:

  22. jrinNC Says:

Been waiting for you to respond. It is still the BP. It can drain you totally. I really do suggest you go to Dr. They all say it is the silent killer. But I know after living with it for so many years you can tell when it is high and you can tell when it is low. Your body is talking to you – listen.

Try to get some rest and de-stress. Shut all this stuff out of your mind. Hope you are feeling better tomorrow. I will say a prayer for you too tonight.

It is a shame we can’t keep them for as long as we live. I have several who have gone to Rainbow Bridge and I know they are patiently waiting also.

OK Folks – seems we got a prayer chain going here. Which by the way is a pleasant surprise and very heartwarming for all of us as we didn’t gather here on this blog for that reason. God drew us folks together during this time of trouble for some reason. Satan is working on us because of this camaraderie and oneness we share. In recent columns, I have reported on both the attempted takeover of the Hardin, Montana, jail facility by a private mercenary force and a Chinese story that the White House would fly the Communist Chinese flag in honor of the 60th anniversary of Mao’s revolution of 1949, which brought the Reds to power (initially killing as many as 3 million Chinese people, and resulting in the deaths of more than 50 million people during those 60 years).

I promised readers that I would keep an eye out for these stories and provide necessary updates. Well, here are those updates.

    The Hardin, Montana, Update:

On Friday, October 9, the private mercenary company that had attempted to take over the Hardin jail facility, American Police Force (APF), announced that it was pulling out of negotiations on contracts with the Two Rivers Authority (the economic development arm of the city of Hardin) to operate the facility. This announcement was made after my column was released and many other news sources, Internet bloggers, and talk radio hosts blitzed the story to the public. We showed how APF’s frontman, Serbian immigrant Michael Hilton, had a criminal record, and is, in fact, currently facing criminal charges for fraud in California. We also reported that APF had fraudulently attempted to identify itself as the “City of Hardin Police Department” by patrolling Hardin’s streets with Mercedes-Benz SUVs with Hardin police markings stenciled on the sides of the vehicles. (The city of Hardin does not have a police department. The city is policed by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office.)

On October 15, the Flathead (County) Beacon reported that the company’s former attorney took the last two Mercedes SUVs brought to Hardin by APF. “Becky Shay, APF spokeswoman, says she gave the keys to Maziar Mafi on Tuesday,” reported the Beacon. Shay said Mafi was the guarantor on the vehicles’ purchase.

In the meantime, Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock has launched an investigation into the Hardin matter. According to the AG’s office, the investigation is predicated upon concerns that the company might be violating the Montana Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Act. As far as I know, that investigation is ongoing.

On October 15, the Flathead Beacon also reported, “Officials in the rural town of Hardin say they’ve received new interest in their empty, 464-bed jail in the wake of [the] collapsed deal with a California company run by a man with a history of fraud.

“Saying there’s ‘no such thing as bad publicity,’ Al Peterson with the city’s economic development agency says at least four corrections corporations and agencies have asked for more information about the facility.

Reading through the above posts this morning, it occurred to me that we all are in need of the Lord’s comfort.

    Does God Heal Today?

I’ve heard people say “It’s God’s will” or “I’ll just leave it up to God” when faced with a serious illness or tragedy.

Don’t fall into that trap. God wants us to pray to him for help.

In Luke 18:1 Jesus told his disciples that they “should always pray and not give up.” and then Jesus asked “…will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?”

Pray to God from your heart for healing. Don’t stop. Don’t give up.

God wants us to ask him for help. He loves us.

  41. cynkading Says:

Fernley, you and your daughter are in my prayers. Jr, accurately describled our blog, we arrived here for other reasons but it is Biblical that we pray for each other.

Grammy, I keep telling myself that what goes up must come down. O and his followers will have a long fall ahead. Just don’t know when but we can be sure that it will happen. I put Olberman and Maher in the same category. They are constantly spewing venom at those who are not on their side. I can only conclude that they do not know the Lord and are more than likely lost souls.

  42. rosettasister Says:

A special thank you to grammy.

I received a sympathy card from grammy yesterday.

She wrote, “We’re thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers.”

    Thanks, grammy and all.

I recall “W” thanking us for our prayers for him.

He said he could “feel” them and that they made a difference.

    I pray for “O” too.

I pray that he more closely aligns his will with Divine Will.

Then he will feel our prayers, too.

  43. cynkading Says:

I would like to share with all of you how God answered a prayer for my husband. About 2 years ago I noticed that my husband had a dark blackish looking mole that was in the hairline on the side of his head. It started out being quite small and over time grew in size and color. I kept mentioning it to him about my thinking it might be skin cancer. He started praying about it and gave it to the Lord. In a matter of a few short weeks, this spot just went away. My husband said that he just did not give it much thought. But noticed that it just sort of itched a little and the next thing he knew it disappeared. My husband’s faith in the Lord is what healed this spot. I have no doubt that this spot was a melonoma and I do not believe in coincidences. This was the Lord doing a mighty work.

  44. patriotamy Says:

Gee, correct me if I am wrong, but supposedly the following was “not” in the healthcare bill. But in this article, it talks about abortion services and ‘immigrants’ care in the health bill. (hmmmmmmmmmm)Our illustrious leaders wouldn’t tell us a fib, now would they? (sarc)

“In the House, the principal stumbling block is disagreement among Democrats over how to set fees for doctors, hospitals and other health care providers participating in the public insurance plan.

Liberals want the government to set the rate unilaterally, pegged to the charges the government pays Medicare beneficiaries. Moderates want the government to negotiate with the providers in setting fees.

Pelosi favors the approach liberals want, but officials say she has all but concluded she cannot gain the necessary majority of 218 votes for it.

House Democrats also must resolve internal disagreements relating to abortion services and health care for immigrants before they can send the bill to the House floor for a vote.”

  45. rosettasister Says:

    Does Pelosi Have the Votes?

    by Connie Hair

Lieberman is not alone. Democrats spoke out yesterday about problems they’re having with the bill, among them Sen. Bayh.

“There are a variety of other things that might work better,” Bayh said. “The question is, is this enough flexibility for states to account for their own circumstances and the answer to that is perhaps. I’d like to see an analysis from an independent source about what this will mean to premiums for the people who have insurance will pay. If this is going to increase the premiums that people who have insurance are going to pay, I would have a very hard time supporting something like that.”

Obamacare does not control the cost of health insurance. Quite the contrary, it will create yet another government entity that is “too big to fail” that taxpayers will constantly have to bail out at a price tag of untold billions and even trillions over the coming decades. The only real way to lower prices on health insurance premiums is by dropping barriers to allow health insurance to be sold across state lines.

Sen. Snowe has also pulled her support as the lone Republican voting in favor of the Senate Finance Committee proposal otherwise known as the “Baucus Bill.” She appears to be standing firm in her opposition to at least the in-your-face government-run health care.

“I was disappointed when I heard the news,” Snowe said. “I thought it was important to create a bi-partisan approach to health care reform to the extent that it was possible.”

(Someone on Fox News this morning said that Lieberman said he would vote against cloture to begin debate. That’s not what Lieberman said. He said he would vote for cloture to begin debate, but that he would vote against cloture to end debate if bill stays in current form. Reid needs to get to 60 votes on both cloture votes. There will be at least two cloture votes.)

Senator Bayh’s Obamacare Bill –Why Evan Bayh Is Going To Inflict Obamacare on Indiana

Because Obamacare is so close to defeat, every Democratic senator will be completely responsible to his or her electorate for whatever passes as each one of them can in fact stop it right now with a simple declaration. Some, like Senator Bayh, are looking for political cover and may be contemplating a “no vote” after getting the bill past its procedural obstacles.

Which is why it is crucial for Indiana voters and voters in other key states like Colorado with Senator Michael Bennet and Arkansas with Senator Blanche Lincoln to communicate to those senators and their staffs that you know the score and that head fakes like the one being tried out by Senator Bayh in the Politico article will not work.

Call them all via the Congressional switchboard: 202-224-3121. Tell them to vote no on the motion to proceed to the bill.

(Mr. Hewitt fears Bayh will vote for cloture which requires 60 votes, then vote “Nay” on final passage which requires only 50 votes. If you live in Indiana, please call Bayh’s office. You can find the number at Hugh Hewitt link above.)

As Mr. Moore seeks to shape the story of what happened on 9/11, so the White House, President Bush included, collaborated on a movie project with the same partisan intent, ”D.C. 9/11: Time of Crisis,” seen on Showtime last fall.

Instead of depicting Mr. Bush as continuing to read ”My Pet Goat” to second graders for nearly seven minutes while the World Trade Center burned (as ”Fahrenheit 9/11” does), ”D.C. 9/11” showed the president (played by Timothy Bottoms) barking out take-charge lines like ”If some tinhorn terrorist wants me, tell him to come on over and get me — I’ll be home!”

(Recall “Trutherism” was all the rage at the time.)

(Truthers I was close to at the time honestly believed “W” kept reading “for nearly seven minutes” because he was “in on it.” And they took “I just make shit up” Moore’s word for gospel truth. Needless to say, we are no longer close.)

UN signals delay in climate change treaty
By EDITH M. LEDERER (AP) – 1 day ago

UNITED NATIONS — Just weeks before an international conference on climate change, the United Nations signaled it was scaling back expectations of reaching agreement on a new treaty to slow global warming.

Janos Pasztor, director of the secretary-general’s Climate Change Support Team, said Monday “it’s hard to say how far the conference will be able to go” because the U.S. Congress has not agreed on a climate bill, and industrialized nations have not agreed on targets to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions or funding to help developing countries limit their discharges.

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has made a new climate treaty his top priority, hosting a Sept. 22 summit on climate change to spur political support and traveling extensively to build political momentum for a global agreement to replace the 1997 Kyoto Protocol which only requires 37 industrialized nations to cut emissions.

Pasztor told a news conference “there is tremendous activity by governments in capitals and internationally to shape the outcome” of the climate change conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, in early December, which “is a good development” because political leadership is essential to make a deal.

But he indicated that Copenhagen most likely won’t produce a treaty, but instead will push governments as far as they can go on the content of an agreement.

“The secretary-general believes that we must maintain the political momentum established by the 101 heads of state and government who attended the climate change summit and continue to aim for an ambitious, politically binding agreement in Copenhagen that would chart the way for future post-Copenhagen negotiations that lead to a legally binding global agreement,” Pasztor said.

Ban was visiting Seattle on Monday to promote action on climate change. The U.N. chief told a news conference that he still thinks the U.S. can come up with an ambitious measure that will encourage other nations to act on carbon emissions.

“I’m very encouraged by the strong commitment by the Obama administration,” Ban said.

Pasztor stressed that there is still a final negotiating session in Barcelona, Spain, from Nov. 2-6 that will be followed by two more weeks of work in Copenhagen. The secretary-general is in close contact with the Danish prime minister and might go to the meeting of Asian and Pacific leaders in Singapore on Nov. 14-15 — which President Barack Obama plans to attend — to keep pressing for a global accord in Copenhagen, Pasztor said.

Obama attended the U.N. climate summit, and this week the Senate environment committee will take up its version of a global warming bill which would cut greenhouse gases by about 80 percent by 2050 and require more domestic energy to come from renewable sources.

But with work still to be done on health care and deep divisions in Congress over how to deal with climate change, chances the Senate will pass a climate bill by the end of the year are slim.

Ban said he plans to meet with Senate leaders to encourage passage of the climate bill.

By doing so, the Senate “can have a huge political impact for other negotiators of other counties,” Ban said. Many developing countries, such as China and India, “are ready to make some political compromises only if and only when the United States is ready to do that.”

Pasztor said a U.S. climate bill is very important because without one, U.S. negotiators in Copenhagen can’t negotiate on targets for emissions reductions.

He said two key unresolved issues are agreement on emission reduction targets for industrialized countries and how to finance actions by developing countries to limit their emissions growth and adapt to the effects of climate change.

Developed countries want to provide money for specific actions to curb emissions — but developing countries say the actions depend on how much money they’re going to get, Pasztor said, and that still hasn’t been decided.

“What’s Happened To Obama?” It’s Simple, We Figured Him Out!

WE FIGURED HIM OUT! By Ben Stein

Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed?

Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths:

The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008.

They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.

They ignored his anti-white writings in his books.

They ignored his quiet acceptance of hysterical anti-American diatribes by his minister, Jeremiah Wright.

They ignored his refusal to explain years at a time of his life as a student.

They ignored his ultra-left record as a “community organizer,” Illinois state legislator, and Senator.

The American people ignored his total zero of an academic record as a student and teacher, his complete lack of scholarship when he was being touted as a scholar.

Now, the American people are starting to wake up to the truth. Barack Obama is a super likeable super leftist, not a fan of this country, way, way too cozy with the terrorist leaders in the Middle East , way beyond naïveté, all the way into active destruction of our interests and our allies and our future. The American people have already awakened to the truth that the stimulus bill — a great idea in theory — was really an immense bribe to Democrat interest groups, and in no way an effort to help all Americans.

Now, Americans are waking up to the truth that ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do.

The American people already know that Mr. Obama’s plan to lower health costs while expanding coverage and bureaucracy is a myth, a promise of something that never was and never will be — a bureaucracy lowering costs in a free society. Either the costs go up or the free society goes away.

These are perilous times.. Mrs. Hillary Clinton, our Secretary of State, has given Iran the go-ahead to have nuclear weapons, an unqualified betrayal of the nation. Now, we face a devastating loss of freedom at home in health care. It will be joined by controls on our lives to “protect us” from global warming, itself largely a fraud if believed to be caused by man.

Mr. Obama knows Americans are getting wise and will stop him if he delays at all in taking away our freedoms.

There is his urgency and our opportunity. Once freedom is lost, America is lost. Wake up, beloved America.

Soros: China Will Lead New World Order (warns Americans against resisting)
    by DefendUSx October 28, 2009 16:18

Billionaire globalist warns Americans against resisting new global financial system

    Paul Joseph Watson
    Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Billionaire globalist George Soros told the Financial Times during an interview that China will supplant the United States as the leader of the new world order and that America should not resist the country’s decline as the dollar weakens, living standards drop, and a new global currency is introduced.

Asked what Obama should discuss when he visits China next month, Soros stated, “This would be the time because I think you really need to bring China into the creation of a new world order, financial world order,” adding that China was a reluctant member of the IMF who didn’t make enough of a contribution.

“I think you need a new world order that China has to be part of the process of creating it and they have to buy in, they have to own it in the same way as the United States owns…the current order,” said Soros, adding that the G20 was a move in this direction.

Soros said that there was a flight from currencies across the board, and that this is why the price of commodities, notably gold and oil, were generally rising. He also stated that an orderly decline of the dollar was “desirable” and that the entire system needed to be reconstituted towards a global currency.

“You need a new currency system and actually the Special Drawing Rights do give you the makings of a system and I think it’s ill-considered on the part of the United States to resist the wider use of Special Drawing Rights, they could be very useful now when you have a global shortfall of demand, you could actually internationally create currency through Special Drawing Rights,” said Soros, explaining that this was already in process after the IMF injected an allocation of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) equivalent to $250 billion into the global economy.

Soros also stated that richer countries were already transferring wealth to poorer countries via SDR’s, with the IMF paying for the half per cent transaction cost.

Soros said the world would have to go through a “painful adjustment” following the decline of the dollar and the introduction of a global currency. Reading between the lines, he essentially threatened to kill the dollar completely if the United States did not get on board with the global currency.

Soros predicted that China would become the new engine of the global economy, replacing the U.S., and that this would slow economic growth and reduce living standards. Soros characterized the United States as a drag on the global economy because of the declining dollar.

Obama Internet Czar Susan Crawford resigns
    by DefendUSx October 28, 2009 16:54

    From the Washington Post

White House technology policy adviser, Susan Crawford will leave her position in January to return to the University of Michigan Law School where she is a tenured professor, according to the Obama administration.

Crawford, known as a proponent of controversial net neutrality rules, has been on temporary leave from the university to serve in the White House. That sabbatical, which began two months after she received tenure at the University of Michigan, will end in January.

“Susan has done an outstanding job coordinating technology policy at the National Economic Council where her expertise on issues from intellectual property to the Internet has been invaluable,” said a White House spokesman. “We understand that she needs to return to her responsibilities in Ann Arbor, but we will miss having her wise counsel in the White House.”

Crawford has served as a technology policy coordinator for President Obama on the National Economic Council headed by Lawrence H. Summers. In that role she has been President Obama’s adviser on the development of broadband Internet networks and a net neutrality policy. She has written extensively about net neutrality in her personal blog.

The Federal Communications Commission is currently considering rules that would prevent Internet service providers from controlling content on the Web in ways that could negatively impact users or give telecom and cable firms an edge over competitors. Internet service providers have fought hard against new rules, saying they would hamper their ability to manage traffic on their networks. The rules proposed at the FCC could also prevent them from cutting special deals with companies to give some content priority over others.

Crawford left her teaching position at the University of Michigan on a temporary leave to work on Obama’s transition from the campaign to government. She was charged during the transition with overseeing Obama’s review of the FCC along with University of Pennsylvania professor Kevin Werbach.

Romney: Massachusetts plan did not cut health care costs

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is acknowleding that the health care plan he famously implemented as governor did nothing to address costs.

“We were unable to deal with – and didn’t have any pretense we would somehow be able to change – health care costs in Massachusetts,” Romney said in an interview with CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta. “We still have a fee for service, a re-imbursement system here like every other state in America. That’s the way Medicare and Medicaid are structured, that’s the way the insurance industry is structured.”

Romney said “Massachusetts is not the model” for reducing health care costs.

Imagine that – no one will be able to do that period. Too much greed in the system.

Jones AND GOP Leader demand answers from obama on car czar and GM Bailout

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-03), House Republican Leader John Boehner and 18 other House Republicans sent a letter to President Barack Obama demanding answers on the use of American tax dollars to bail out General Motors (GM). Despite the strong opposition of Congressman Jones and many House Republicans, over the past year the U.S. government orchestrated a takeover of the U.S. auto industry and sunk nearly $50 billion in taxpayers’ money into GM. The administration has also disclosed very little information about the details of the government bailout of GM. However, last week the President’s former “Car Czar”, Steve Rattner, stated that the value of the taxpayers’ stake in GM has plunged to only $25 billion.

“Keeping American taxpayers in the dark is wrong. The Administration pledged transparency, and yet there has been none as far as the General Motors bailout is concerned,” said Congressman Jones. “I have been adamantly opposed to all bailouts and there must be accountability shown for our taxpayers’ money, especially if it is being wasted.”

The letter to the President is as follows:

    Dear Mr. President:

Last December, the U.S. Treasury Department loaned General Motors $13 billion. In the spring, Treasury loaned GM another $6 billion. In June, days before GM declared bankruptcy, the Administration provided another $30 billion – just in time to convert taxpayer loans to equity taking ownership of GM.

All of these funds came from the Troubled Asset Relief Program – a bailout never intended for such purposes. As the Congressional Oversight Panel wrote last month, “the use of TARP funds for the automotive industry raises questions regarding both Presidents’ authority to use these funds under EESA legislation and, more broadly, under the U.S. Constitution.”

Last week, Steve Rattner, your former “Car Czar,” estimated that the taxpayers’ stake in GM now stands at $25 billion. If Mr. Rattner is correct, the Administration’s “Bridge Loan to Nowhere” lost half of the taxpayers’ money. And while sales for private-owned Ford Motors fell only 6% in September, government-owned GM saw a 45% decline.

Despite your Administration’s pledge of transparency, this “Bridge Loan to Nowhere” comes with none. American taxpayers remain in the dark when it comes to basic details of $49 billion in taxpayers’ money provided to GM.

How much should taxpayers expect to lose from the “Bridge Loan to Nowhere?” When will we see the minutes from Automotive Task Force meetings? When will we see all financial and operating information for GM – at the same level of detail that shareholders of any other major company would expect?

As the American people struggle through the Great Recession, they deserve better than a $25 billion loss in a non-transparent investment.

    Radical Imam Shot in Detroit!

Wow. Almost every other day now the FBI has been arresting Islamists in the US on terror related charges. More so than at any other time in my memory. Now, if a few more would do us the favor and resist arrest ….

    Here’s the story:

Agents at a warehouse in Dearborn were trying to arrest Luqman Ameen Abdullah, 53, on charges that included conspiracy to sell stolen goods and illegal possession and sale of firearms. Ten followers listed in a criminal complaint were also being rounded up in the area.

Abdullah refused to surrender, fired a weapon and was killed by gunfire from agents, FBI spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold said.

In a court filing, the FBI said Abdullah, also known as Christopher Thomas, was an imam, or prayer leader, of a radical group named Ummah whose primary mission is to establish an Islamic state within the United States…

The group believes that a separate Islamic state in the U.S. would be controlled by Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, formerly known as H. Rap Brown, who is serving a life sentence in a federal prison in Colorado for shooting two police officers in Georgia in 2000, Leone said. Al-Amin, a veteran of the black power movement, started the group after he converted to Islam in prison.

Unlike others arrested in recent plots, this one is said to have no overseas connection. Which makes this a truly homegrown movement. Recall that most of the other Americans arrested in recent roundups were connected to Pakistan or other locations abroad, either by virtue of heritage, friendship, or Islamist groups.

The sheer number of these arrests in recent weeks suggests something is up. A pattern is emerging whereby federal agents arrests potential terrorists either in the planning stages or as they leave the country.

So, what do you make of it all?

    Thanks to Bill.

Obama administration, Pentagon prepare for homeland military deployment

In a report released to the US Congress recently, analysts assessed what they termed “preparedness tests” between the US military and government agencies at the federal, state and local levels.

U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM) exercises to test preparedness to perform its homeland defense and civil support missions. The Government Accountability Office was asked to assess the extent to which NORTHCOM is consistent with Department of Defense guidelines for training and exercise requirement involving interagency partners and states in its exercises.

NORTHCOM’s exercise program is generally consistent with the requirements of DOD’s Joint Training System, but its exercise reporting is inconsistent. Since the command was established in 2002, NORTHCOM has conducted 13 large-scale exercises and generally completed exercise summary reports within the required time frame.

However, those reports did not consistently include certain information, such as areas needing improvement, because NORTHCOM lacks guidance that specifies exercise reports’ content and format, potentially impacting its ability to meet internal standards for planning and execution of joint exercises, and to compare and share exercise results over time with interagency partners and states.

Confirmed: Skin cream contains fetal proteins
Company’s anti-aging products built on cells harvested from aborted baby

One of Neocutis’ skin products containing PSP

A pro-life organization is blasting a Switzerland-based cosmetics manufacturer whose website openly admits some of its products were developed from the tissues of an aborted baby.

Children of God for Life is a non-profit organization focused on the bioethics of embryonic tissue use in medicine and manufacturing. One of its current campaigns includes petitioning pharmaceutical companies to produce safe, effective alternatives to vaccines derived or cultivated from aborted fetal tissue.

But the organization’s attention has now turned Neocutis, a company with offices in San Francisco which has developed a line of anti-aging products that include an ingredient the company has trademarked as Processed Skin Cell Protein, or PSP, developed from skin cells harvested from an abortion.

“It is absolutely deplorable that Neocutis would resort to exploiting the remains of a deliberately slaughtered baby for nothing other than pure vanity and financial gain,” said Debi Vinnedge, executive director of Children of God for Life, in a statement. “There is simply no moral justification for this.”

The website for Neocutis, which is privately held with estimated annual sales of in excess of $2 million, explains that its research began years ago, when scientists discovered fetal skin’s unusual ability to heal without scarring. Scientists at the University Hospital of Lausanne, Switzerland, then created a process to extract proteins from fetal cells in the attempt to obtain an optimal, naturally balanced mixture of nutrients.

The scientists then infused those nutrients into a line of cosmeceutical anti-aging products: Neocutis skin cream, Journée day cream, Lumière eye cream and Bio-Gel bio-restorative hydrogel – products Vinnedge is advising women to throw in the garbage before contacting Neocutis to voice their concerns.

“There is absolutely no reason to use aborted babies for such selfish motives,” Vinnedge said. “It is anti-life, anti-woman and counter-productive, as Neocutis is about to find out!”

Fruity Cheerios maker General Mills now ranks among the top companies in America with policies beneficial to homosexual and transgender workers.

Despite an economy languishing in high unemployment and low consumer confidence, more American companies are jumping on the bandwagon to provide support for homosexual and transgender employees.

More than 300 firms have now received perfect 100 percent scores in this fall’s Corporate Equality Index, produced annually by the Human Rights Campaign which ranks businesses on their “treatment” of employees who have chosen homosexual, lesbian, bisexual and transgender lifestyles.

The list, which saw a 20 percent increase this year in the number of perfect scores, includes newcomers such as theater giant AMC Entertainment, Costco, Delta Air Lines, Food Lion and General Mills.

“Even in the most challenging economy, leading employers are forging ahead of federal and state law to recruit and retain a diverse workforce – regardless of employees’ sexual orientation and gender identity or expression,” said Joe Solmonese, president of the HRC. “While Congress considers a federal law that prohibits workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, businesses can take immediate steps to ensure all employees in their workforce are treated fairly today.”

Yes, you’re being brainwashed to think the homosexual lifestyle is a perfectly decent way of life. Find out how in “The Marketing of Evil” for just $4.95 today only!

No men OR women needed: Scientists create sperm and eggs from stem cells
    By Fiona Macrae
Last updated at 11:49 AM on 29th October 2009

Human eggs and sperm have been grown in the laboratory in research which could change the face of parenthood.

It paves the way for a cure for infertility and could help those left sterile by cancer treatment to have children who are biologically their own.

But it raises a number of moral and ethical concerns. These include the possibility of children being born through entirely artificial means, and men and women being sidelined from the process of making babies.

Forever fertile? Infertile men and women could have their own biological children using the breakthrough sperm and eggs
Opponents argue that it is wrong to meddle with the building blocks of life and warn that the advances taking place to tackle infertility risk distorting and damaging relations between family members.

The U.S. government-funded research also offers the prospect of a ‘miracle pill’ which staves off the menopause, allowing women to wait longer to have a child.

It centres on stem cells, widely seen as a repair kit for the body.
Scientists at Stanford University in California found the right cocktail of chemicals and vitamins to coax the cells into becoming eggs and sperm.

Controversial: Britain’s oldest mother Elizabeth Adeney, 67, who went abroad for IVF, is pictured here with her newborn son in June this year
The sperm had heads and short tails and are thought to have been mature enough to fertilise an egg.

The eggs were at a much earlier stage but were still much more developed than any created so far by other scientists.

Russia hopes nuclear ship will fly humans to Mars

MOSCOW – Russia should build a new nuclear-powered spaceship for prospective manned missions to Mars and other planets, the nation’s space chief said Thursday.

Anatoly Perminov first proposed building the ship at a government meeting Wednesday but didn’t explain its purpose. President Dmitry Medvedev backed the project and urged the government to find the money.

In remarks posted Thursday on his agency’s Web site, Perminov said the nuclear spaceship should be used for human flights to Mars and other planets. He said the project is challenging technologically, but could capitalize on the Soviet and Russian experience in the field.

Perminov said the preliminary design could be ready by 2012, and then it would take nine more years and cost 17 billion rubles (about $600 million, or euro400 million) to build the ship.

“The project is aimed at implementing large-scale space exploration programs, including a manned mission to Mars, interplanetary travel, the creation and operation of planetary outposts,” Perminov’s Web statement said.

The ambitious plans contrast with Russia’s slow progress on building a replacement to its mainstay spacecraft — the Soyuz.

Russia is using Soyuz booster rockets and capsules, developed 40 years ago, to send crews to the International Space Station. The development of a replacement rocket and a prospective spaceship with a conventional propellant has dragged on with no end in sight.

Despite its continuing reliance on the old technology, Russia stands to take a greater role in space exploration in the coming years. NASA’s plan to retire its shuttle fleet next year will force the United States and other nations to rely on the Russian spacecraft to ferry their astronauts to and from the International Space Station until NASA’s new manned ship becomes available.

Perminov said the new nuclear-powered ship should have a megawatt-class nuclear reactor, as opposed to small nuclear reactors that powered some Soviet military satellites. The Cold War-era Soviet spy satellites had reactors that produced just a few kilowatts of power and had a life span of about a year.

Igor Lisov, a Moscow-based expert on Russian space program, said the prospective ship would use a nuclear reactor to run an electric rocket engine.

“It will be quite efficient for flight to Mars,” he told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Lisov said Soviet work on a nuclear-powered electric rocket engine dates back to the 1960s when Soviet engineers began developing plans for a manned flight to Mars.

He said Russia’s experience in building nuclear-powered satellites would also help develop the new spaceship. “It will require a significantly more powerful nuclear reactor, but the task is quite realistic,” Lisov said.

Stanley Borowski, a senior engineer at NASA specializing in nuclear rocket engines, said they have many advantages for deep space missions, such as to take astronauts and gear to Mars. In deep space, nuclear rockets are twice as fuel-efficient as conventional rockets, he said.

NASA has used small amounts of plutonium in deep space probes, including those to Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto and heading out of the solar system.

The only planetary mission currently considered by Russia is a plan to send a probe to one of Mars’ twin moons, Phobos. It was set to launch this year, but was delayed.

    Prelude to a Punch

This post is the prelude to my final letter which goes to the House and Senate leadership. I plan to distribute this letter, with copies of Speaker Pelosi’s letter, as widely as possible, and to submit them to a major newspaper as a paid advertisement.

In the last couple of weeks, I have deliberately posted articles from Africa that embrace Obama as a native of Kenya as early as 2004, photographs of “Obama, Sr.”, most of which were apparently photoshopped, and various other ‘tidbits’ of information that once again expose Obama as a fraud with a socialist agenda.

One intent was to catch the obots off-guard with information they thought they had defeated, while they were busy (and stupidly) gloating about the eligibility case dismissals. Mission accomplished.

Another intent was to load the internet with continued stories of his fraud, bit by bit tearing away the facade, reminding people of their uncomfortable feeling about Obama and the democrats, so that the roar from ‘the internets’ would be so loud that Congress, the media, and Pelosi would begin to have to answer these questions yet again. The issue is not going away, and of course they can now no longer ignore it or laugh at it.

This effort is intended to expose their complicity in the fraud, the willful ignorance of facts, as now about 30% of Americans do not believe Obama was born in the United States. That’s about 90 million people. Critical mass?

    Grow a Spine

    Dear Republican House Leadership:

If you put this letter down, or throw it away before reading it, then you are also complicit in perpetuating the greatest fraud on the American public in U.S. history. And 90 million Americans know it.

By now there is an overwhelming amount of evidence to call for an investigation into 2008 election fraud perpetuated by the democratic party and members of Congress in falsely swearing, under oath, that candidate, and now President, Obama met the eligibility requirements of President as stated under Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution. To wit:

    Six articles from various countries in Africa, at least one dated to 2004, identifying Barack Obama as a ‘native born Kenyan, son of the soil’;

    A video tape recording of and a witness to the 2004 debate between Ambassador Alan Keyes and State-Senator Barack Obama in which Mr. Obama admits he is not a natural born citizen;
    Candidate and President Obama’s website stating clearly that Barack Obama was a British citizen at birth, and is a native U.S. citizen under the 14th amendment;
    Evidence that candidate Obama knew, as a constitutional law professor, that his citizenship status prevented him from assuming the office of the Presidency;
Evidence that Speaker Nancy Pelosi, acting in her capacity as Chair of the Democratic National Convention, falsely swore to Barack Obama’s constitutional eligibility without knowing whether he was or not, resulting in the placement of Obama’s name on every state’s ballot
The continued refusal of Obama to produce one shred of evidence as to who he is: no passport, no birth certificate, no college records, no medical records—no evidence whatsoever as to his eligibility for the Presidency.

How can you be so foolish to ignore these facts, well known now for over a year? Why are you allowing the Department of Justice, which should be defending the Constitution against usurpation, defend Obama?

You respond to citizens’ requests as if we were stupid, offering the same lame excuse for natural born citizenship as Speaker Pelosi did–a Certificate of Live Birth posted on the internet. For President of the United States?

Oh, another lame excuse the Congress is using is to cite the ‘eligibility case dismissals’, when you know that issues of ’standing’ and the ‘political question’ are judicial inventions that have been used to avoid clearly constitutional questions. Americans are not stupid. Have you noticed, like we have, that in the 30+ lawsuits challenging his authority he has never responded to any of the charges?

If the Republican leadership thinks it can capitalize on voter anger over the socialist agenda being pushed by Congress and the President by ignoring this subject, it will find itself out of a job. For if you ignore this, you ARE part of the problem. The American people can sense when something is going down, and this does not pass the smell test for 90 million Americans.

Respectfully, grow a spine on behalf of the American people: initiate an investigation of the 2008 election, Speaker Pelosi’s ethics, and take the steps to remedy the situation, even if it means making uncomfortable choices like invoking the 25th Amendment or impeachment proceedings. The National Security of our country is at stake!

Otherwise you should do the right thing and resign your seat immediately. When you ignore the Constitution, you lose the legal authority of and moral basis for the position you hold.

I asked him what an “Obama phone” was and he went on to say that welfare recipients are now eligible to receive (1) a FREE new phone and (2) approx 70 minutes of FREE minutes
    every month.

I was a little skeptical so I Googled it and low and behold he was telling the truth.

The very foundations that this country was built on are being shaken. The age old concepts of God, family, and hard work have flown out the window and are being replaced with “Hope and Change” and “Change we can believe in.” You can click here to read more about the “Obama phone”…just have a barf barf ready.

H1N1 flu spurs closures of At least 351 schools

Chicago » The number of students staying home sick with the flu is multiplying nationwide and normally quiet school nurses’ offices suddenly look like big-city emergency rooms, packed with students too ill to finish the day.

The federal government has urged schools to close because of the H1N1 swine flu only as a last resort. But schools are closing by the dozens as officials say they are being hit so hard and fast by the virus that shutting down for a few days is the only feasible option.

“There was nothing else we could do,” said Michael Frechette, the superintendent of Connecticut’s Middletown Public Schools where a middle school closed for the rest of the week after 120 students stayed home sick Monday and another 25 were sent home by noon.

At least 351 schools were closed last week alone — affecting 126,000 students in 19 states, according to the U.S. Education Department. So far this school year, about 600 schools have temporarily shut their doors.

The number of closures this year appears on target to surpass the roughly 700 schools closed in the spring when the new flu outbreak first hit.

“This is scary,” said Kathryn Marchuk, a nurse whose son attends St. Charles East High School outside Chicago, which closed for three days last week after about 800 of its 2,200 students called in absent. “So many people are sick. It’s just everywhere.”

Many school officials said they were afraid the virus would spread faster if they stayed open.

I just heard on Fox that BO is planning a scaled down version of McCrystal’s strategy in Afghanistan. Gotta tell you if I was in the military and I was over there I would be doing everything possible to GET OUT. This is a death sentence for our soldiers.

Rose, I sent you a new email last night…Didn’t know if you saw my post informing you of it…I was wondering if you could post a couple of pics for me.

    Good morning, Troy.

    No, haven’t looked yet.

Will check in a little bit.

  219. jrinNC Says:

Spoke with one of my clients husband today about BO not being eligible to be president. Get this – he was not even aware of BO’s dual citizenship. He stated he only heard they he may have been born in Kenya. I told him that the issue was his father was not a citizen and to be natural born you must be of 2 US citizens. Folks, I am telling you – many Americans are not informed. But I have to say he was very well informed on the other issues and he too feels the NWO is not far off.

  220. jrinNC Says:

Troy – I love Ode to Billy Joe – do you know that is the only song that Bobbie Gentry ever sang. Too bad, she had a great voice.

  221. rosettasister Says:

Well, not having any luck with System Restore.

    That’s never happened before.

I’ve tried several dates/times to restore to which should have worked.

After restart, just keep getting message that system restore didn’t work and no changes made.

But it’s not telling me why System Restore didn’t take.

As far as clicking on a RosettaSister link and not being taken here does present a problem.

For example, if someone did a search on (it appears) any search engine and a RosettaSister link came up.

When they click on it, they’d never get here.

Again, I don’t know if this is specific to my computer or not.

I guess I’ll contact WordPress and see if they have any ideas.

  222. Troy Says:

do you know that is the only song that Bobbie Gentry ever sang. Too bad, she had a great voice.
    No, I didn’t know that…Wow, what a shame…She’s great!

  223. jrinNC Says:

Rose, I had a problem yesterday on the blog – post disappeared – when I tried to repost said write services to wordpress denied.

  224. jrinNC Says:

I know this is a few days old but rather disturbing.

    ‘Force will determine Jerusalem’s fate’

Damascus-based Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal on Sunday evening stated that the fate of the capital would be determined by force, not negotiations.

“The fate of Jerusalem will be determined only by confrontation and not by the negotiating tables,” Mashaal said in a speech, according to Channel 10.

“The Israelis want to divide al-Aqsa Mosque, and this is not all. They want to hold their religious ceremonies in the mosque … in preparation for demolishing it and building their temple there,” he reportedly said.

  225. Katie Says:

Rose – several regular posters were commenting that they were having problems yesterday with CW’s site – also on WordPress.

    For whatever it is worth.

    That has happened before, jr.

When it did, it affected all WordPress blogs, not just RS.

I have a feeling the problem I’m having is specific to my computer.

    I just contacted WordPress.

    Hopefully I’ll hear back soon.

This has happened to me once before with my 4shared account, but that did affect all 4shared accounts, not just mine.

So I don’t know what to think just yet.

    This doesn’t affect us.

But it may affect someone trying to link here who hasn’t been here before.

And I am concerned that these sites you are hijacked to may be harmful.

  227. Troy Says:

I’ve not been able to get to the Defend Our Freedoms Foundation site.

  228. rosettasister Says:

    Thanks, Katie!

Just how is Dear Citizen anyway?!

  229. jrinNC Says:

House moves to avoid government shutdown

WASHINGTON (AP) – The House has approved a stopgap spending measure to avoid a shutdown for 11 Cabinet-level departments whose budgets won’t be enacted by a midnight Saturday deadline.

The measure would give Congress until Dec. 18 to finish seven incomplete spending measures that were supposed to be wrapped up by Sept. 30. The bill passed by a 247-178 vote and now goes to the Senate, which must pass it this week to avoid a partial shutdown. The legislation, among other things, extends highway programs and federal loan guarantees for larger mortgages.

The anti-shutdown measure was attached to a remarkably generous spending bill for the Interior Department and environmental programs. Lawmakers are pumping billion of dollars into clean and safe-drinking water projects.

While stopgap spending measures always occur this time of year, the thing wrong with it is they attached the generous spending bill for the Interior Dept and environmental programs.

  231. rosettasister Says:

When I click on a RosettaSister link, redirected to an link

Then redirected from there to a variety of sites

  232. rosettasister Says:

    I found this.

Hopefully I’ll be able to find instructions on how to remedy this.

“I have the shopica hijack infection and have tried everything that I know of to get rid of it. I ran MALWAREBYTES and ADAWARE and that might …”

  233. jrinNC Says:

Well, not having any luck with System Restore.

    That’s never happened before.

Rose just realized what you said here. That has happened to me in the last week. I had some problems last week so I also tried to do sys restore and it did not work either. I just ended up correcting everything manually which took me some time.

  234. Katie Says:

Judge David O. Carter has dismissed Barnett et al v. Obama et al, Orly Taitz’s most successful lawsuit — that is, the one that got the furthest through the legal system — demanding proof of the president’s citizenship. The entire decision is here, and it’s devastating to Taitz.

Judge David O. Carter has dismissed Barnett et al v. Obama
I knew that was coming and I’m surprised that it took him that long to do it….Now we know why O’Reilly, out of the clear blue, did the hatchet job on Taitz…It just proves that he and Fox News are part of the cabal…All this time O’Reilly hasn’t covered anything of Taitz and then out of nowhere and for no appearant reason, just days before the dismissal, he does a hit piece on her…Sorry, but I don’t believe in coincidences like that…Now I have no choice but to wonder what exactly Beck is up to and why.

One of the Chicago affiliates has the video and has confirmed it. I think also Alan Keyes has that video as well.

Is Dr. Kate reliable? I use to read her stuff at Texasdarlin. If they have the 2004 debate video we don’t need the courts. Obama indicts himself if the stories and testimony is to be believed.

On that note, the courts let us down again. We are going to need video.
    Judge Carter issued the MTD.

I am writing my Senators one last time trying to get their help with Hawaii. The filed vs accepted information of the COLB vs the Certificate of live birth is driving me mad.

The Nordyke twins info from certificate of live birth. Born Saturday Aug 5, 1961. Kapiolani Hospital. Mother’s date of signature Aug7,1961. Signiture of attendant MD Friday,Aug 11, 1961. Date filed and accepted by DOH local reg. Friday, Aug 11, 1961. Certificate numbers 151 61 10637 and 151 6110638.

O’s information from COLB. Born Friday night Aug 4, 1961. Date filed by registrar Aug 8, 1961. Certificate number 151 1961 10641.

How did O get a number beyond the Nordyke twins when he was filed on Aug 8,1961 and they were filed and accepted on August 11,1961?

Why was O information never accepted by the DOH? It shows still filed on the COLB issued in 2007.

If O was born in Kapiolani how did he get his paperwork so fast? It took the MD 6 days to sign the twins paperwork.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Rose, sorry to hear about you dropping out of the blogging world. I know I haven’t posted much but I do drop in now and again. Rose’s gang still rocks.

    Dr. Kate,
That is quite a statement. How can we confirm that a “Chicago affiliate has the video and has confirmed it.”?

I checked Alan Keyes website Loyal to Liberty and he doesn’t mention anything about a video.

This revelation would blow this fraud out of the water. Why isn’t this video being posted far and wide?

I see Dr. Kate has now changed her tune a little.
    October 29, 2009 at 12:01 pm
I actually remember seeing the video at one point. Now, let me do some more research. Thank you!

This just gets my BP up, and frankly why I feel bloggers take a bad rap. Making claims that are less than truthful hurt us all and make us all look like fools. Dr. Kate presented as fact. Backed up the question about the tape and now who knows?

“A video tape recording of and a witness to the 2004 debate between Ambassador Alan Keyes and State-Senator Barack Obama in which Mr. Obama admits he is not a natural born citizen;”
Jc, you seem to be missing something there…Dr. Kate supplied a live (clickable) link to the website where that statement was derived from….She was passing on info from another source…To my knowledge the video tape in questio9ned has not surfaced yet.

Go back to the link you provied above and click on “A video tape recording of and a witness” which is printed in red and click on it for the source of the statement.

    Hope this helps.

  246. jrinNC Says:

I’m a little concerned over the pc problems you are having Rose. I was concerned with mine last week as well. I utilize several programs to keep my system clean and when I am not online I engage internet lock. I do maintenance on my pc once every 3 days, but like I said I was not able to do a restore either and I don’t have restore disabled. I work on computers on the side for folks who have viruses and problems with their software and hardware and believe me it can be something really small that is causing the problems. I know Microsoft just had quite a few updates and sometimes those updates generate problems.

Sure hope you figure out what it is and that your system has not be compromised.

  247. jrinNC Says:

    “been” compromised

  248. jc Says:

Look at the comment section. Dr. Kate responds. I did not miss anything. To my knowledge the video tape in question has not surfaced yet was what I thought too until Dr. Kate claimed otherwise today. She claimed something to which the source does confirm. I asked her for confirmation.

    October 29, 2009 at 10:22 am
One of the Chicago affiliates has the video and has confirmed it. I think also Alan Keyes has that video as well.

At 10:22 this morning she said clearly, “One of the Chicago affiliates has the video and has confirmed it. ”

I went to the Postnemail link,( saw your comments), read the article and can’t find the any statement claiming a video or yet a confirmation to back this up. Keyes doesn’t seem to have the video either. Where did she get that?

Russia hopes nuclear ship will fly humans to Mars

MOSCOW – Russia should build a new nuclear-powered spaceship for prospective manned missions to Mars and other planets, the nation’s space chief said Thursday.
Gee I wonder if we can nominate people to go on the first mission. 😀

Lindsey Graham is listed as on official member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, according to the Committee’s website, but when the Committee does business on Thursday mornings, Graham is conspicuously absent.
