What is it you wish from me, Good Lady? Respect, she answered.

Marrakesh Night Market

They’re gathered in circles
the lamps light their faces
The crescent moon rocks in the sky
The poets of drumming
keep heartbeats suspended
The smoke swirls up and then it dies

(CHORUS)Would you like my mask?
would you like my mirror?
cries the man in the shadowing hood
You can look at yourself
you can look at each other
or you can look at the face of your god

The stories are woven
and fortunes are told
The truth is measured by the weight of your gold
The magic lies scattered
on rugs on the ground
Faith is conjured in the night market’s sound

The lessons are written
on parchments of paper
They’re carried by horse from the river Nile
says the shadowy voice
In the firelight, the cobra
is casting the flame a winsome smile

American Police Force is a scam of epic proportions

When the scene started to unfold in Hardin, Montana, my first reaction could best be described as an overwhelming feeling of despair. The thought that our worst fears were coming true so soon literally sent chills down my spine. Talk of foreign troops on American soil and secret, empty detention centers appeared to be taking shape before our very eyes. Scary stuff indeed.

But as the hours and days unfolded and more light was shined upon this story, it became less of a looming threat and more like an engrossing tabloid scandal.

One look at the Napoleonic Michael Hilton (or whatever one of the several aliases you’ve come to know him by) soft soaping the locals was reminiscent of some of the characters I’d met during my 17 years as a private investigator. I was occasionally employed to inquire into the backgrounds of a client’s potential business partner(s) and over the years I developed a knack of “sizing-up” some of these slick operators into often stereotypical profiles.

Hilton was one such character. The very choice of a recognizably wealthy name for an alias sent up an immediate red flag. Then the other familiar flashy dresser driving expensive cars, staying in the priciest digs in town and throwing money around like so much confetti is essential to a good con. These things are meant to distract the masses from responsible business practice by mesmerizing them with “bread and circuses”.

The curiosity about this guy led me to the web-site americanpolicegroup.com where I literally broke out in laughter. This thing looks like somebody’s wet dream; a fantasy company one might create for a video game or a big screen adaptation of a comic book.

I mean look at those screen shots: Choppers coming out of an “Apocolypse Now” sunset? Soldiers in action poses with automatic pistols in each hand. Who are they trying to appeal to? 16 year olds? Certainly not serious clients looking for a company that practices restraint and professionalism. These images would best be suited on a poster advertising the next Quentin Tarantino flick.

Talk about ambitious. Not even “Blackwater” has the resources that this company claims to have. And the array of services that they offer is quite frankly absurd. The licensing, personnel and insurance alone would be on a scale that would make it impossible for this company to be kept under the radar so long or to rise out of nowhere so soon.

It was during this perusal that something occurred to me. In all the articles I have read, no one addressed the issue of the services they advertise and the licenses required for those services. I am very familiar with laws pertaining to Private Investigators and I know that the State of California is very strict with how a licensed private investigator conducts his business.

“American Police Force” is a California corporation and in order to advertise for investigative services in the State of California, one must be licensed and the licensee must advertise using the name that the license is issued under. I went to the website of http://www.bsis.ca.gov/online_services/verify_license.shtml. This is the website for the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS). They have a database that anyone can use to verify a license. You simply put in the name the company is advertising under and it will tell you whether that company is a licensed firm. As I suspected, no matches were found. They are not licensed to operate as a Private Investigator nor as a Security Operator (required to provide bodyguard services). I knew this would be the case going in because the State of California will not issue a license to a company that has the word “police” as part of its company name. Use of the word “police” in the context of any license is strictly forbidden by California State law.

On the contact page of “American Police Force” is the phone number (714) 647-3000. This is a Santa Ana, California number and is listed as their “West Coast Mainline”. Providing this number for the purposes of inquiring about investigative services as they are advertised on the American Police Force website is a violation of California State law and punishable under the Private Investigator’s Act which states:

“Unlicensed persons who represent themselves as licensed or act as private investigators are committing a misdemeanor and may be jailed for up to one year and fined $5,000.”

As an added measure, I attempted to reach someone by phone at BSIS to do a verbal verification but found they were closed today (Oct. 2) in accordance with the Governor’s furlough mandate.

I was able to file a complaint online at http://www.bsis.ca.gov/industries_regulated/uaau.shtml with the “Unlicensed Activity Action Unit” so they could follow up. I’m sure the more complaints filed will result in a better chance that this issue receives the attention it deserves.

Returning to the contact page of “American Police Force” also brought to my attention an “East Coast Mainline” phone number of (202) 379-4910. This is a Washington D.C. number. After some research I determined that responsibility for security and private investigator’s licenses came under the jurisdiction of the “District of Columbia Security Officer’s Manager’s Branch”. I phoned them at (202) 671-0500 and spoke with an Officer Francis who verified that “American Police Force” was not licensed to operate as a private investigation agency or as a security firm. She confirmed that if “American Police Force” was in fact advertising and offering investigative services under that name and directed inquiries to that Washington D.C. number, then they would be in violation of the law. She sounded very concerned and assured me that she would conduct inquiries into the matter “today”. When I asked if she had heard of “American Police Force” or the scandal in Montana concerning them she said she had not.

The one conclusion I’m drawing from all this is that “American Police Force” is a scam of epic proportions. If, in fact, there is some larger entity driving this company from behind the scenes, it appears (at least to this observer) that they are an utterly incompetent, motley crew of bumbling con artists that may (at best) inspire an interesting screenplay along the lines of a low-budget “Ocean’s 11”….except with a very ugly cast.

    Obama’s Copenhagen Trip Wasn’t Cheap

Taxpayers shelled out probably $1 million or more for the president, his wife and others to fly to Copenhagen and back to woo members of the International Olympic Committee.

A 2006 congressional study pegged the cost of flying Air Force One at $56,518 an hour. The Pentagon recently said it cost $100,219 an hour to fly the huge, reconfigured Boeing 747 without Obama aboard. The Pentagon estimate included more costs for support needs, such as maintenance.

At those rates, the president’s 14-hour trip to Copenhagen and back cost about $790,000 to $1.4 million.

However, presidential travel requires additional spending, especially for security personnel and equipment. Also, first lady Michelle Obama and some administration officials traveled to Copenhagen at public expense ahead of the president.

And of course we know Oprah got a free ride at our expense also.

Posted Thursday evening, updated Friday at 6:15 am and 9:35 am EDT

Republicans have been ready with criticism for President Barack Obama’s overnight journey to Copenhagen, where the president today pressed Chicago’s case for the 2016 Olympic Summer Games — playing booster, as the Republican National Committee put it this morning, for Obama’s “Chicago Fat Cat Friends.”

RNC Chairman Michael Steele, Sen. Kit Bond of Missouri and then House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio all have questioned the president’s priorities.

And even as the president and First Lady Michelle Obama were leaving Copenhagen this morning following their appeal to the International Olympic Committee, the Republican National Committee was circulating an email complaining of the White House’s “wrong priorities” (see that below the fold.) The RNC chairman today, chiding the president for “verbal gymnastics” in Copenhagen, noted the newest numbers on rising unemployment back home (see below as well.)

Rahm Emanuel, the Chicagoan who is chief of staff for Obama, has an answer: “You know, we’ll make sure they get some good seats once Chicago does host the games.”

Today in Washington DC … [updated]
    by DefendUSx October 02, 2009 21:13
    From Blogsphere:

I just went to the supermarket to buy some food, I’m driving back home and see a commotion on the side of the road on a sidewalk.

Someone had just been evicted from their apartment (condo) and all their belongings were on the street. I pulled over to see what was happening and I see what must have been a 60 to 70 year old lady crying her eyes out on the sidewalk.

Next to her were 20 to 30 people scavenging her life’s belongings like freakin’ vultures right in front on her. keep in mind that I live in a nice neighborhood, there were people with escalades and BMW’s going through her stuff along with some local university students I guess.

I just couldn’t believe it … these animals were relentless fighting over each other over her stuff while she was sitting there crying … an old lonely woman no less.

I went up to talk to her to see if she was alright … she was ill, her husband died suddenly a year before leaving her with no income or savings, no family, and apparently had been hoping she could die before this day came so that she didn’t have to face it.

I asked if she needed money and she said no! So I called a friend of mine who’s a police sergeant in the local precinct and waited till he came over to take her away from that nightmare and into a shelter. I also gave him some money to secretly slip into her pocket.

I’m going to go back right now and see if I can take some pictures for you, but what the hell man? After my friend and she left I freakin’ ripped into these shameless excuses for human beings.

I realize this is a scene going on over the States and the world right now but still, to see people (in some cases wealthy people) act like crack addicts after a pair of sneakers just crushed me to no end …

Ok so I just spoke to my policeman buddy, he didn’t have a lot of time to talk but this is the gist of it …

He won’t tell me much in terms of personal details for privacy reasons, but he said he took her to a hospital to calm her down and for her to be checked out and has arranged accommodation for her at a local shelter that deals with the elderly.

But here’s the good news, she probably won’t need to stay at a shelter. She has loads of friends to whom she was to ashamed to confide in and who have been worried sick about her today! Silly girl, too much pride to ask for help or burden her friends.

My friend is going to keep an eye on her and check on her but apparently she’s going to be ok eventually … after she gets over todays trauma.

I can’t tell you what a weight has been lifted from me. It doesn’t make anything I saw today alright but I was dreading what could have become of her once she got lost in the system.

Thanks everyone, I cannot even begin to tell you how much your support meant to me today. I shall never forget it. And of course I will let you guys know if I hear anything else.

Alan Keyes: Government Will Stage Terror, Declare Martial Law

Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes has given perhaps his most dire warning yet, saying that the Obama administration is preparing to stage terror attacks, declare martial law and cancel the 2012 elections, which is why they are demonizing their political enemies as criminals and terrorists.

Keyes is best known for his performance during the 2000 Republican presidential debates, when he was accredited by many media outlets as being the clear winner during a series of debates with George W. Bush and John McCain.

“It’s obvious that they will stop at nothing,” Keyes told attendees of a reception in Fort Wayne, adding, “We may wake up one day and there’s a series of terrorist attacks, the economy is paralysed….martial law will be declared everywhere in the United States and it won’t end until the crisis ends.”

Keyes said that Americans should be thankful if they even see another election in 2012, stating, “If we don’t wake up and work to see that it happens, we will not see another election.”

“The minute they think they can get away with it, they will end this system of government and that is their intention,” added Keyes, noting that everyone acting as if the time we are in was just “business as usual” reminds him of the attitude of politicians in the Weimar Republic when Hitler was rising to power or eastern Europe when the Communists were taking over after the second world war.

Keyes said that because the majority of people are decent-minded, they believe others will play by the rules when this simply isn’t the case, warning that this attitude will allow evil to take over before we can do anything about it.

“It is so clear hat we have now put a faction in place – they are not playing by the rules and they don’t intend to play by the rules – if they were playing by the rules they wouldn’t have tried to identify their opposition as criminals,” added Keyes, making reference to the recent controversy surrounding the release of the MIAC and Homeland Security reports, which implied that Americans who exercise and are knowledgeable about their constitutional rights are a threat to law enforcement and potential domestic terrorists.

Keyes said that the only solution was from the bottom up because our leaders “are so gutless that they won’t even ask that the Constitution be enforced for clear, plain, absolutely unequivocal requirements,” and respond meekly with “their lips shut and their hearts terrorized.”

Keyes also warned of Obama’s agenda to create a civilian security force and said it was part of the ultimate agenda to disarm American citizens and create a police state.

Keyes has been a vocal critic of Obama, warning that he is a radical Communist who is determined to destroy America, and that if his agenda is not stopped then the country as we know it will cease to exist.

Homeowners in financial trouble often redefault

Many homeowners in financial trouble are redefaulting even after securing a home loan modification, according to a new federal report.

Lenders are ramping up efforts to avoid home foreclosures, but a report by bank regulators says more than half of borrowers who get help fall behind again.

More than 50 percent of homeowners with loans modified in the first half of last year had missed at least two months of payments a year later, the federal Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Office of Thrift Supervision said Wednesday.

But the results were better among those who saw their payments drop substantially.

Though lenders are boosting their attempts to curb record-high home foreclosures, fewer than half of loan modifications made at the end of last year actually reduced borrowers’ payments by more than 10 percent, data released Friday show.

The report, based on an analysis of nearly 35 million loans worth more than $6 trillion, was published by the federal Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Office of Thrift Supervision. It provides the most detailed and broad analysis to date of efforts to stem the foreclosure crisis, which President Barack Obama is trying to combat with a $75 billion plan to promote loan modifications.

”The Obama administration on Tuesday offered the first of what will be monthly reports on mortgage modifications, using a “name and shame” approach that found that from February through July, lenders started only 9 percent of eligible homeowners on trial mortgage modifications.

The first report under the Home Affordable Modification Program, involving more than 30 lenders that together collect payments on 85 percent of American mortgages, found an especially dismal performance by two major national banks ”Bank of America and Wells Fargo ”that received $45 billion and $25 billion, respectively, in taxpayers’ bailout money.

The report is likely to produce more pressure on these two institutions, because the rescue money spent on them was expected to encourage greater lending and more loan modifications.

Since defaulting on her mortgage more than a year ago, Marisela Gonzalez has attended foreclosure prevention seminars, spent hours on the phone with her lender, paid a consultant, availed herself of bankruptcy protection — everything in her power to hang on to her home.

”I thought to pack and just get out,” recalled the Miami-Dade special-education teacher. ‘Then, I said, ` No . . . this is my place. I’ve been here 15 years and I am not going to give it back to a bank just like that.’ ”

Yet Gonzalez is giving her Kendall townhome back to the bank, in this case the federal government, which took over lender IndyMac. Even with an offer to lower her interest rate, Gonzalez could not afford the payments and owes about $100,000 more than the house is worth.

President Barack Obama took aim at the housing crisis during his first 100 days with a broad plan to stabilize the market by trying to prevent foreclosures, pushing down mortgage rates and offering a handsome tax credit to new buyers.

But has the effort helped South Florida, where foreclosures are soaring, many homeowners have little or no equity and price declines show no sign of abating?

The answer: A little bit — at least, so far, according to real estate analysts, distressed homeowners and the people trying to help them.

WASHINGTON — Lenders are ramping up efforts to avoid home foreclosures, but a report by bank regulators says more than half of borrowers who get help fall behind again.

More than 50 percent of homeowners with loans modified in the first half of last year had missed at least two months of payments a year later, the federal Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Office of Thrift Supervision said Wednesday.

But the results were better among those who saw their payments drop substantially.

About one in three borrowers whose monthly payments were reduced by 20 percent or more had fallen behind again within a year. That compares with more than 60 percent for borrowers whose loan payments were left unchanged or increased.

The report highlights a significant challenge for the Obama administration’s plan to tackle the foreclosure crisis, backed by $50 billion in money from the financial industry bailout fund.

The administration’s effort got off to a slow start but has picked up speed in recent months. As of last month, about 360,000 borrowers, or 12 percent of those eligible, have signed up for three-month trial modifications. They are supposed to be extended for five years if the homeowners make their payments on time. There is currently no data on redefaults within the plan.

Traditionally, most lenders have offered payment plans that allowed borrowers to catch up on missed payments. But those modifications often do not involve an interest-rate reduction and result in a higher monthly payment.

All that does is set the borrower up for failure, said Kristi Cahoon, an attorney and housing counselor with Legal Services of Northern Virginia. “A lot of them aren’t true modifications,” she said.

By contrast, under the Obama plan, she believes the loans will be sustainable for the homeowners she counsels. Borrowers’ interest rates, for example, can go as low as 2 percent for five years under the Obama plan.

Bank regulators say they have pressed lenders to shift their focus to modifications that reduced borrowers’ payments. They made up nearly 80 percent of new modifications in the April-June quarter, up from about half in the first three months of the year.

The report covers 34 million loans, representing more than 60 percent of primary home mortgages. Consistent with other reports, it showed that borrowers are continuing to fall behind as job losses mount.

More than 11 percent of borrowers covered by the report had missed at least one payment as of June 30, up from 10 percent in April.

It also highlighted mounting problems with an especially troubling category of loans: “pick-a-payment” or option ARM loans, which allowed borrowers to defer some of their interest payments and add them to the principal.

At the end of June, 10 percent of these loans were in foreclosure, more than triple the rate for all mortgages in the survey.

Turning Tea Party Patriots into Political Petitioners
    by Patrick Tuohey

As Americans rise up all across the country to challenge a political elite that many believe does not listen to them, it is important to consider the tools that people in many states have employed to directly affect change: the petition.

In Missouri, our Constitution includes the following passage:

The people reserve power to propose and enact or reject laws and amendments to the constitution by the initiative, independent of the general assembly, and also reserve power to approve or reject by referendum any act of the general assembly, except as hereinafter provided. (Article 3, Section 49)

The document clearly states that the people possess the right to initiate laws and constitutional amendments, even though they grant those same powers to their representatives in the legislature. This is an important since it permits the people to enact laws directly and without going through the standard legislative process.

Unfortunately, in Missouri and other states where the people enjoy this right, the initiative process is continually under assault from state legislatures—Republican and Democrat alike—even to the point of adopting unconstitutional limitations to them. Such efforts have included the following:

•A 1969 law in Oklahoma required that petition circulators be state residents. In December 2008, the Tenth Circuit Court unanimously struck down that law as unconstitutional. The Court did the same to a similar law in Colorado in 2002.
•A 2005 law in Ohio that restricted petition gatherers from being paid per signature was struck down by the Sixth Circuit Court struck in March 2008. Ohio appealed the decision but the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear it. Similar pay-per-signature regulations have been overruled by federal district courts in Idaho, Maine, Mississippi and Washington.
•A Colorado law that required petitioners to wear badges with their name and whether they were a volunteer or paid circulator was struck down as unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1999.
A common argument for limiting the petition process is that it puts too much money into politics or that it invites fraud. Yet courts have found this not to be the case. In the 2005 ruling against Ohio, the Court concluded that prohibiting payment per signature would increase the costs and the time necessary to obtain the required signatures. The Court also rejected the evidence that this particular form of payment resulted in fraud.

Other legislators worry that petition drives can be funded and operated by people living out-of-state. In a December interview with the Springfield News-Leader, Rep. Michael Parson (R-133) said, “What’s happening is a company or a special-interest group can come in from out of the state, basically unload the signature gathers (from a bus), do a marketing campaign and change the Constitution of the State of Missouri.” It is important to note that Parson’s concern about out-of-state money and campaign workers doesn’t extend to candidate elections, like his own. His legislative efforts would only regulate out of state activity on campaigns for ballot initiatives, not campaigns for politicians.

Organizations such as Citizens in Charge are dedicated to preserving petition rights and even expanding them into new states. This is the first place tea party organizers should turn when considering how to leverage their clout. Ballotpedia.org is a website offering information about various ballot initiatives in Missouri and elsewhere. This service is important, because often the keys to the petition process are held by the executive and legislative branches—the very groups that the petition process is intended to circumvent. Even if a petition makes it to the ballot, the language that appears on the ballot may be written to opponents to change.

The Missouri general assembly recently debated real and substantive improvements to the initiative process, but the legislation did not survive the frenzied final few hours of the session. Look for these efforts to continue in January, and to remain a battleground all over the country.

jr — how is your mom doing???? I hope she’s stable and doing better!

A year ago if I’d read about what Keyes said I would think he’s a nut and had gone off the deep end. I know I’ve said this several times but it’s hard for me to grasp sometimes what is happening having not been politically involved until last year. Along with so many others, my head was buried down to the shoulders in the sand and I would sit in the comfort of my home and just fume sometimes at things going on. Rose’s gang has enriched my knowledge of many things in these past months (and I must say had it not been for the site which we cannot discuss I might not have found Rose’s place). 🙂

I have a deep respect for Dr. Keyes and while I sure as heck hope he’s wrong, I won’t say he’s crazy for saying what he’s saying. He knows a heck of a lot more than I do and like Troy said there’s a lot of stuff going on out there. I just wonder how the police and military can turn on people they know are law-biding citizens. I keep wondering will the military stand with us or against us.

As for the 2012 elections, my sights are set on 2010 so the American patriots can stymie Obama by voting out those jokers who have failed to uphold their oath of office!!!!!

Thanks Troy, Bones & Grammy – I have to say that I really believe something will happen along these lines. I too think Alan Keyes probably knows so much more than we do. While I hope and pray that it does not come to martial law, I fear, like Troy, the indicators are there. And yes, Bones, we have awakened, but are there enough of us. Again, I too question our military. But I am also worried of factions such as APF. We really don’t know for sure how many other groups are out there that have infiltrated our soil. While I think that we will make a difference in the 2010 election, I feel BO and his backers will start putting the heat on. They are in power, they will do anything to keep that power.

Grammy, my Mom is doing pretty good right now. Did notice today she was on the giddy side, which is always an indicator of seizure activity. But have to say we had a good day and she got to visit her home where my daughter now lives.

Don’t know if you read it yet or not. Someone has done the leg work to bring a complaint to the SC attorney general in regards to BO being on the ballot and certified that he was eligible to run for POTUS. They are wanting the people of SC to send in this complaint. Seems someone hand wrote on bottom of certification that the candidates meet or will meet the qualifications under the law of the constitution, statutory law and party rules. The Republican Party nomination states in the typed nomination they are eligible under the constitution, but the DNC notification of nomination and the notice signed by Pelosi DO NOT STATE that – thus the handwritten note by someone from SC. That is basically it in a nutshell that the DNC nor Pelosi stated they met the constitutional requirements but rather it is written by an individual whose title looks like the SC (something) and looks like it says Treasurer – can’t make it out.

PhillyDeals: By Friday, panel gave states the insurance option

Sen. Tom Carper (D., Del.) spent much of the week wooing Republicans and splitting hairs.

On Wednesday, he voted for one Democrat’s public-option plan, and against another, in the Finance Committee, which Baucus heads.

Both failed, as Baucus and a changing band of fellow conservative Democrats joined Republicans in voting “No.”

“We can afford to lose maybe one Democrat,” Carper told me as he left a Thursday session.

On Friday, the Senate Finance Committee voted to give states money to help insure low-income residents, among other measures.

(I’m trying to find out more about the so-called Carper Compromise. I assume if a Carper Compromise were to prevail, that would be in lieu of Snowe’s trigger or Conrad’s coops. The reason I like Snowe’s trigger is because I don’t believe private insurers would be stupid enough to allow that trigger to ever be pulled. And at least Conrad’s coops are NOT govt-run, but they are not-for-profit. With Carper’s compromise, states could opt to have a public “option” or a coop? But what are the parameters? A certain threshold must be met to allow private insurers enough time to step up to the plate, so to speak.)

    APF Update
American Police Force Leader’s Long Criminal Record
    Zachary Roth | October 1, 2009, 11:17AM

Spread the word and support this article by retweeting it!

The American Police Force, that mysterious security company that just took over an empty jail in Hardin, Montana, is looking shadier than ever.

Since yesterday, details have been emerging about the background of the man behind APF — a California-based grifter, who has said he’s a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Montenegro, and uses the name Michael Hilton.

Over the years, Hilton has served jail time for fraud, and had a string of arrests and other run-ins with the law. Based on reports from the AP, the Billings Gazette, and Prison Legal News, here’s a quick rundown:

    • 1988: Hilton arrested in Santa Ana, Calif. for writing bad checks.

    • April 1990: Hilton is again arrested in Santa Ana for writing bad checks and for grand theft.

    • 1992: A civil judgment of $83,000 is entered against Hilton and Ilia Dokovich.

    • March 1993: Hilton pleads guilty in Orange County court to 14 felonies, including 10 counts of grand theft. One charge involves a $20,000 real estate scam, in which Hilton persuaded an associate to give him a deed on property in Long Beach, Calif., saying it was to be used as collateral on a loan, then sold the property to someone else. According to the AP, he spends six years in prison in California.

    • 1999: A small claims judgment is entered against Hilton for $3,979.

    • 2000: the same plaintiff obtans another small claims judgment against Hilton in Los Angeles County, this one for $1,852.

    • March 2000: Hilton is accused of fraud, larceny, and breach of contract, in connection to a venture in which Hilton and others recruited the plaintiff to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars to create collectible Super Bowl commemorative coins. According to the complaint, Hilton and the others said the money would be used for the design and manufacture of the coins and for a license to produce them from the National Football League — but the NFL never issued a license. Hilton is ultimately ordered to pay the plaintiff $200,000.

    • Around the same period: Hilton also faces two similar fraud suits: In one, he’s accused of posing as a fine arts dealer to deceive a Utah couple into giving him a $100,000 silver statue. In the other, he is said to have teamed with a doctor to recruit investors for a southern California assisted-living facility that was never built.

    • November 2002: Hilton files for bankruptcy, in order to avoid eviction by his landlord.

    • March 2003: Hilton is arrested for DUI in Huntington Beach.

    • February 2004: Hilton files for bankruptcy once more, again to avoid eviction.

    • January 2006: A $5,052 judgment lien is entered against Hilton in Orange County, CA.

A Lexis search conducted by Prison Legal News turned up the following aliases used by Hilton: Miodrag Dokovich, Miodrag Djokich, Miodrag Djokovich, Michael Hamilton, Anthony M. Hilton, Michael A. Hilton, Michael Milton and Hristian Djokich, plus related variants.

JOHN BRUMMETT: A public option, but what form?

Meantime, U.S. Sen. Tom Carper, Democrat of Delaware, has the idea that, if we’re not going to have a federally created public option, maybe we could fall back on the rights of states to set them up if they chose.

Carper has asked Reid, when the time comes to piece together a bill from conflicting Senate bills from two committees, to consider this:

States could do the public option themselves.

Or they could seed the co-ops themselves.

Presumably they could get some federal help, as is the case with Medicaid.

(“fall back on the rights of states to set them up if they chose” set “them” up? Set what up, exactly? Coops would be preferable. If this were coupled with a Snowe-like trigger provision, then it might make sense. i.e., let’s not make it too easy for an individual state to opt in to a public “option” or cooperatives.)

The Public Option Compromises: An Interview With Sen. Tom Carper

    Does this have a trigger?

Sen. Snowe is interested in a trigger and we need to be mindful of her ideas. At this point I wouldn’t rule that out, but I want to encourage her to continue to think outside the box.

You spoke earlier about the importance of the exchanges, and the need to open them up to competition. But they’re currently limited to smaller employers and individuals. Do you support Sen. Snowe and Wyden’s efforts to open them to all employers and workers, respectively?

I understand Wyden is getting a fair amount of pushback from some large employers and organized labor. I think moving in that direction is a good idea. But I’m not sure if we should start from that point.

  92. rosettasister Says:

“an opt in plus a trigger” – well, I guess that answers my question. The devil is in the details, so Repubs and Centrist Dems should be striving to make sure this trigger isn’t a hair-trigger.

Democrats Quietly Craft ‘Public Option’ Compromise Behind Closed Doors

Democratic Sen. Tom Carper of Delaware, a member of the Senate Finance Committee, is spearheading the effort as a way to appease liberal Democrats — vying for a government-run insurance option — as well as party moderates and Republicans who claim it will lead to a single-payer system.

Carper is proposing what one aide called “an opt in plus a trigger,” which would allow individual states to choose to create a public option to compete with private insurers in their state.

He’s also proposing a non-profit cooperative, which is a member-owned group that assembles a network of salaried providers and negotiates payment rates with them.

States could opt to create both, Carper says, but it would be up to the decision of states.

Carper’s compromise would also allow states to create their own health care exchanges to permit interstate insurance pools.

  93. rosettasister Says:

Gregg: No bill unless Obama supports Baucus-Grassley deal

Well, I think the real question is — if there is a bipartisan bill that comes out of the Senate, and there may well be, because the Baucus-Grassley group is working hard, you’ve got the Wyden-Bennett bill as you mentioned, which is bipartisan — how do you preserve the bipartisan elements of that bill when you go to conference with the House and you’ve got people like Speaker Pelosi who are absolutely committed to having the government take over the system? And that I think is the great, is the big hurdle here.

In other words, why would people sign onto a bill in the Senate if they know that the Speaker of the House and the President’s people are going to torpedo that bill and move towards the government plan when it gets into conference?

So unless the President comes out and says he’s for the bipartisan bill as it leaves the Senate, and he’s going to stand by that bill as it goes to conference, I don’t think you’re going to get a bill here.

  94. rosettasister Says:

The Senate Finance Committee released on Friday evening the text of the health-care bill that committee members will vote on next week, the result of nearly two weeks of committee debate and amendments.

(So, the committee will vote BEFORE they see the CBO score?)

(This is NOT the actual legislative language, I think they call this “summary” language. And the CBO cannot score this thing properly until the legislative language is written.)

Sen. Dodd among those working on plans to significantly expand sanctions against Tehran if negotiations on its nuclear program fail. ‘We don’t have to wait, certainly for Russia or China or for anybody else, to take the action we deem to be appropriate,’ House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer says

Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., the top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, was more direct. “The US must put away the begging bowl, act like a world leader and lead the effort to impose immediate, crippling sanctions on the Iranian regime,” she said.

Ros-Lehtinen earlier this year introduced her own bill to strengthen sanctions against people aiding Iran’s proliferation efforts. She has an ally in the Foreign Affairs Committee’s Democratic chairman, Howard Berman of California. Berman is pushing a bill that would prohibit foreign entities that sell refined petroleum to Iran from doing business in the United States.

While Iran is a major oil producer, it imports gasoline and refined petroleum products. Stopping fuel shipments to Iran could have serious effects on the Iranian people.

Mideast expert Kenneth M. Pollack, director of the Saban Center at the Brookings Institution, said it was questionable whether such sanctions would work: There’s bound to be leakage in the sanctions regime, Iran is quickly expanding its refinery capacity and Iran could manipulate world opinion by displaying the suffering of common Iranians, Pollack said.

The hardline positions of some in Congress, he added, could be useful to the White House as it tries to get US allies on board for the administration’s more targeted sanctions.

Bilateral sanctions imposed by the United States since the Iranian Revolution in 1979 already severely restrict trade and financial transactions with Iran.

Release the 36 abducted residents of Camp Ashraf in Iraq – EP Vice President

    Sunday, 04 October 2009

Press Release, For immediate release, October 2, 2009

“Release the 36 abducted residents of Camp Ashraf in Iraq”

I learnt with utter disbelief that yesterday afternoon 36 residents of Camp Ashraf who were abducted on July 28 by Iraqi forces and held since then as hostages in the city of Khalis prison, were brutally attacked, beaten and then transferred by force to an undisclosed location.

According to reports from the scene, the abductees were badly beaten, dragged on the ground and thrown into police vehicles while they were unconscious.

Iraq: Brutal transfer of 36 Camp Ashraf hostages to undisclosed location

The 36 members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) who have been taken hostage by the Iraqi forces since late July, were moved to undisclosed location after their forced transfer from Khalis city prison to Baghdad on October 1.

They were beaten and violently moved at around 18:00 local time in Baghdad today while they have been on dry hunger strike for the past 78 hours.

The Iranian regime has been calling for their interrogation and trial.

It is quite obvious that the aim of their violent transfer is to kill them and the Iraqi Government is directly responsible for it.

Israel names Russians helping Iran build nuclear bomb

Israel’s prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, has handed the Kremlin a list of Russian scientists believed by the Israelis to be helping Iran to develop a nuclear warhead. He is said to have delivered the list during a mysterious visit to Moscow.

Netanyahu flew to the Russian capital with Uzi Arad, his national security adviser, last month in a private jet.

His office claimed he was in Israel, visiting a secret military establishment at the time. It later emerged that he was holding talks with Vladimir Putin, the Russian prime minister, and President Dmitry Medvedev.

“We have heard that Netanyahu came with a list and concrete evidence showing that Russians are helping the Iranians to develop a bomb,” said a source close to the Russian defence minister last week.

“That is why it was kept secret. The point is not to embarrass Moscow, rather to spur it into action.”

Israeli sources said it was a short, tense meeting at which Netanyahu named the Russian experts said to be assisting Iran in its nuclear programme.

When the class action suit against aspartame is initiated, count me in as a plaintiff. Since 1986, I have not been able to consume alcohol or caffiene because of aspartame. The lipomas that I have first appeared while I was consuming aspartame in the early ’80s as well. After being a coffee drinker for 30 years, from ’86 on, one cup of coffee and I have a migrain. At the same time, a single drink of alcoholic beverage and my immune system goes into the tank. If I drink, I end up with cold, tonsillitis, sinusitis and/or etc. One of the byproducts of aspartame in your body is formaldehyde. It is amazing to me how many people just will not accept the fact that it is not only toxic & addictive, but increases the appetite. I firmly believe it adversely affected my body/brain chemistry. Although I had fully researched the problems of aspartame 20 years ago, I did not know Rumsfeld was the one that secured the FDA approval. Thanks for the info.

    Ethical Investing
Aspartame (NutraSweet) Formaldehyde Poisoning, Health Destruction, and Lawsuits
    Return to
Monsanto Unethical Investment Page / Ethical Investing Home Page

The artificial sweetener aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal, NatraTaste, Canderel) is without question the most toxic and health-destroying “food” sold to consumers. The number of people who have recognized toxicity reactions or damage from chronic aspartame ingestion is well over one million people in the U.S. (based on the reported toxicity reactions divided by the estimated reporting rate). While many people’s health has already been destroyed by this product, the more serious concern is the long-term nervous system damage, immune system damage, and irreversible genetic damage known to be caused by aspartame’s metabolite, formaldehyde. Formaldehyde can cause severe health problems at exceptionally low levels of exposure.

“These are indeed extremely high levels for adducts of formaldehyde, a substance responsible for chronic deleterious effects that has also been considered carcinogenic.
“It is concluded that aspartame consumption may constitute a hazard because of its contribution to the formation of formaldehyde adducts.”
[Life Sci. (scientific journal), Vol. 63, No. 5, pp. 337+, 1998]
It can be difficult to get a sense of the widespread harm that this toxic product has caused without printing out and reading completely through the Aspartame Toxicity Reaction Samples that are available on the Aspartame (NutraSweet) Toxicity Information Center web page. This document will take a minute or two to load in web browser so please be patient.

“I know from my own experience, the levels of devastation this product are real. I have lesions on the left temporal lobe of my brain and a series of seizures to prove it. …. “I drank diet coke for YEARS…. loved the stuff.. and ‘tho everyone told me (vaguely) that Aspartame was bad for me.. did I listen?? Noooooo. Annnnd I paid the price.”
Some people may ask, “Well, didn’t the research prove that it is safe?” The answer is “No!”. Nearly 100% of the independent scientific research has found problems with aspartame. Those independent research studies are cited and discussed in detail on the Aspartame Frequently Asked Questions web page and on several other web pages on the Internet. Researchers and physicians are encouraged to followup on these studies.

Primarily, the only research that claims aspartame is safe is that which has been funded and/or controlled by the manufacturer (e.g., Monsanto). They put together convincing-sounding summaries of poorly-designed research in order to present to the public. When the research is examined closely it is found that the testing was often done improperly, the results were often reported inaccurately or in a biased way, and the equivalent of extremely low doses of aspartame was often used even though the summaries reported the use of high doses.

“Corporate control of NutraSweet testing continues at Monsanto, torturing the ethics of academic medicine.”
    [Prevailing Winds, Issue 1, 1995]
Sometimes, the manufacturer points to the fact that aspartame has been approved in many countries. But none of these countries even tested aspartame. They relied on the manufacturer’s pre-approved “research” which was aptly described by an FDA Investigator:

“They [manufacturer] lied and they didn’t submit the real nature of their observations because had they done that it is more than likely that a great number of these studies would have been rejected simply for adequacy. What [the manufacturer] did, they took great pains to camouflage these shortcomings of the study. As I say filter and just present to the FDA what they wished the FDA to know and they did other terrible things for instance animals would develop tumors while they were under study. Well they would remove these tumors from the animals.”
    [US Congressional Record, Volume 131, No. 106, August 1, 1985, pages S10826-S10827]

Some of the symptoms of aspartame poisong include:

Headaches/Migraines, Dizziness, Seizures, Nausea, Numbness, Muscle spasms, Weight gain, Rashes, Depression, Fatigue, Irritability, Tachycardia, Insomnia, Vision Problems, Hearing Loss, Heart palpitations, Breathing difficulties, Anxiety attacks, Slurred Speech, Loss of taste, Tinnitus, Vertigo, Memory loss, Joint Pain
Because aspartame metabolizes into a poison and other dangerous chemicals (despite the claims of the manufacturer to the contrary), it is believed that it can trigger or worsen the following conditions:

Brain tumors, Arthritis, Multiple sclerosis, Epilepsy, Chronic faigue syndrome, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, Mental retardation, Lymphoma, Birth defects, Fibromyalgia, Diabetes, Thyroid Disorders
Monsanto is now preparing to release another poorly-tested, dangerous sweetener, neotame. However, a large number of people are not waiting to be poisoned again and are using the Healthier Sweetener Resource List to switch to stevia and other healthier, time-tested sweeteners.

Monsanto sold its aspartame business recently to Ajinomoto of Japan and a group made up of former Monsanto executives and Michael Dell’s (of Dell Computer) consulting / investment firm. A class action lawsuit is being prepared and should be filed against the current and previous manufacturers in late 2002. The lawsuits against Monsanto for aspartame poisoning and their other toxic products will likely force a reorganization or put it out of business within a few years.

    The Welcome Tension of Technology:
    The Need for Dialogue about

    by Robert B. Shapiro
Robert B. Shapiro is chairman and chief executive officer of the

    Editor’s Note:
In the April 1998 issue of The CEO
Series, Robert B. Shapiro outlined the
    promise of agricultural biotechnology
in helping to feed a growing worldwide
    population. Now, almost two
years later, in the face of opposition
    to this technology, particularly in
Europe, we asked Mr. Shapiro to
    describe the current outlook for
    agricultural biotechnology and his
    observations about dealing with the
public policy aspects of controversial science.
Peter Schwartz, chairman of the Global Business Network
and author of The Art of the Long View, wrote recently
that, “For any given technological innovation, three facts
hold true: (1) Its inventors can never completely foresee
its eventual impact; (2) some element of the population
will welcome it; and (3) some element of the population
will object to it. What a perfect recipe for uncertainty!”
And a pretty good recipe for acrimony, distrust, and unsteady
    public policy.
Consider agricultural biotechnology, a major research
and commercial commitment of my company. Depending
upon which side of the debate you’re on, biotechnology will
either produce miracle foods or it will create “Frankenfoods.”
It will either reduce the use of toxic pesticides or it will
destroy the Monarch butterfly. It is either our best hope
for feeding a hungry world or it will unleash dangerous
    unknowns into the food supply.

    Now will Congress investigate ACORN?

Evidence continues to accumulate from far and wide that the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now is lousy with corruption. The latest revelations come from Louisiana and Oklahoma. In the former, the local ACORN Housing Corp. office received contracts worth a combined $625,000 from the City of New Orleans for repairing existing low-income housing and developing new units in poor neighborhoods. The contracts were paid for with funds from federal Community Development Block Grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. An investigation by the Pelican Institute think tank of New Orleans, however, found that no work was actually performed to fulfill the contracts. Worse, Pelican couldn’t talk to the ACORN official managing the contracts because he had left the organization months ago. One more thing: The office address listed on the contracts for ACORN turned out to be a vacant lot, although new plumbing connections indicated a trailer had recently been located on the site.

Barack Obama furious at General Stanley McChrystal speech on Afghanistan

The relationship between President Barack Obama and the commander of Nato forces in Afghanistan has been put under severe strain by Gen Stanley McChrystal’s comments on strategy for the war.

According to sources close to the administration, Gen McChrystal shocked and angered presidential advisers with the bluntness of a speech given in London last week.

The next day he was summoned to an awkward 25-minute face-to-face meeting on board Air Force One on the tarmac in Copenhagen, where the president had arrived to tout Chicago’s unsuccessful Olympic bid.

Gen James Jones, the national security adviser, yesterday did little to allay the impression the meeting had been awkward.

Asked if the president had told the general to tone down his remarks, he told CBS: “I wasn’t there so I can’t answer that question. But it was an opportunity for them to get to know each other a little bit better. I am sure they exchanged direct views.”

An adviser to the administration said: “People aren’t sure whether McChrystal is being naïve or an upstart. To my mind he doesn’t seem ready for this Washington hard-ball and is just speaking his mind too plainly.”

In London, Gen McChrystal, who heads the 68,000 US troops in Afghanistan as well as the 100,000 Nato forces, flatly rejected proposals to switch to a strategy more reliant on drone missile strikes and special forces operations against al-Qaeda.

He told the Institute of International and Strategic Studies that the formula, which is favoured by Vice-President Joe Biden, would lead to “Chaos-istan”.

When asked whether he would support it, he said: “The short answer is: No.”

He went on to say: “Waiting does not prolong a favorable outcome. This effort will not remain winnable indefinitely, and nor will public support.”

Unexpected Outgrowths of the Tea Party Movement
    By Lloyd Marcus

Is God back? While watching the Glenn Beck program, three women, yes I said three, boldly proclaimed their Christianity and how their decision to follow Christ has affected their politics. Other than religious programs, people do not talk about their faith on TV without being portrayed as fanatics or nut cases. It was truly refreshing. Could this mean God is back from exile from the public square?

Another Beck show guest was a black man, Charles V. Payne, founder, CEO and Chief Analyst of Wall Street Strategies. Payne shared his moving tale of growing up in a poor inner city neighborhood. He said his fellow black students beat him up daily for “speaking too white”, getting good grades and daring to have a dream of becoming a businessman. “The kids were not simply jealous of me, they were extremely hostile” said Payne. He attributes the black students’ negative attitudes to a victim and entitlement mindset instilled in them by liberals.

I thought to myself, “Wow!” Black people do not come on TV and tell the truth about the negative effects liberalism has had on the black community. Nor, does anyone hold blacks accountable. Blacks are victims. Every and any problem they could possibly have is the fault of rich, racist, conservative, white Republicans. I mean, everybody knows that!

And then there is the hyphenated American thing. I have shared with you that while I was performing on the Tea Party Express Tour, I opened the rallies by saying, “I am not an African American. I am Lloyd Marcus….AMERICAN!” The audience erupted with applause at all 34 rallies. This hyphenated American thing is like the fairy tale, The Emperor’s New Clothes. It appears most Americans dislike hyphenating. However, enslaved by political correctness and a desire to appear enlightened, sensitive and educated, everyone simply went along with the program.

This hyphenated American thing is like the fairy tale, The Emperor’s New Clothes. Con artists convinced the Emperor that the invisible fabric they used for his new attire was so special only the most enlightened could see it. At the public unveiling, the Emperor proudly paraded down the streets in his new outfit while supplicants applauded it’s great beauty. Then a little boy yelled, “Mom look, the Emperor is NAKED!” Suddenly everyone, including the Emperor, was forced to acknowledge the truth. Like the little boy in the story who spoke the truth, my public rejection of hyphenating is liberating Americans across America. I am inundated with letters of thanks and support.

Something unexpected and wonderful is happening across America folks. The Tea Party Movement has awakened a powerful sleeping giant silent majority. Americans are starting to say, “no” to political correctness; “no” to banning God from the public square, “no” to politicians who ignore the Will of the people, “no” to secular progressives and “no” to dead beats who think they are entitled due to their skin color, sex, economic status or whatever. “Enough!” is the battle cry of millions of Tea Party protesters.

While the main focus of the Tea Party Movement is a rebuke of outrageous government overreaching and out of control spending, the movement has embolden patriots to stand up for the traditions, institutions and values which have made America great. Thus, their slogan, “Take Back America!” It is truly amazing to witness.

With kids having to walk through metal detectors to enter their schools, fatherless black male students dropping out at epidemic rates, kids brutally physically assaulted by other kids on schools buses, and middle schools having to install Day Care centers to accommodate the large numbers of children having children, perhaps the libs will allow prayer back in schools.

Nah… that will never happen. According to the Left, letting God back in schools would really screw up our kids!

    Lloyd Marcus, Black Unhyphenated American!

    Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal

Here is an example of why hiring illegal aliens is not economically productive for the United States . Try to follow along.

You have two families: “Joe Legal” and “Jose Illegal”. Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California .

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash “under the table”.

    Ready? Now pay attention…

Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year.
    Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $9,631.00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy.
Jose Illegal pays $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year.
Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, “We don’t need no stinkin’ insurance!” and still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month.

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal’s and Jose Illegal’s children both attend the same school.

We Grant You for the Third Time the Determination of the Promised Day

In the Name of Allah the Most Merciful Gracious

To Muslims in Germany and outside of Germany we say:

Peace upon you, an Allah mercies and blessings.

For the infidel crusader nation of Germany we say:

Before the elections, Shaykh Osama Bin Laden (may Allah protect him) and Brother Abu Talha said to you: Peace be upon those who follow guidance.

After the elections we say to you: Death be upon you, death be upon those who want war.

A lot of you Germans saw on the TV screens the black days which passed upon London, Madrid, New York and Washington.

The black Tuesday of New York and Washington; which the entire world still remember it.

The black Tuesday of Madrid; which everyone remember.

And the black Thursday of London; which everyone remember.

Surely, these arrogant nations were not warned about the attacks or its days, contrariwise to you as we gave you the choice, and you chose blood, corps and destruction. We determined for you the time period, and this is a gift your brothers in Madrid and London will envy you for.

But, we will bestow another gift upon you for the third time, and we will determine the date for you.

We originally planned to give you the choice to determine it yourself, but we decided to choose it for you carefully and precisely.

How about Sunday? It is a beautiful day, and a holiday for you as of others who follow your religion!

After we choose Thursday for London, Tuesday for New York, Washington and Madrid, we are choosing Sunday for you. Is it going to be a beautiful day?

    Sunday ../10/2009

    Sunday ../10/2009

    Sunday ../10/2009

Sorry, we will not grant you for a fourth time and tell you when. Surely, we did determine it.

One thing left, the city we will attack.

Is Berlin going to wear the colors of New York? Or other cities will have this honor? Like: Bonn, Frankfurt, Hamburg, or it might just be [……………..]

Angela Merkel, surely you had the toast of victory. We promise you, you will drink it over and over but this time it will have a different taste and color. This time the glass will be filled with the blood of your people who elected you and chose war.

Oh, do you know how to ****? Do you do it frequently?

Sunday is a good day to practice such hobby, isn’t it?

How about to make your ****ed dish at that day: a shoulder or a head of a German citizen?

    Our date is ………

To our supporters: this is your day, do not hesitate, post it on German forums, send it by email, do not waste your time translating it, they have under them some of those who speaks are language and who will translate it for their masters.

Source: Rifqa Bary’s brother brags he leaked her foster care location to Muslim stalker-blogger

Last month the Orlando family court overseeing the Rifqa Bary case released a report by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement that claims that they found no evidence to support her claims of abuse despite the father’s explicit admission to the primary incident that prompted her to flee (picking up her laptop and threatening to hit her with it) and a policy that prohibited the FDLE investigators from looking into any allegations of abuse that occurred in her home of Ohio, namely all of them.

But we were contacted by a source close to Rifqa’s family who made statements that calls into question the FDLE’s bogus findings and provides evidence that the Bary family home is not so safe and secure as the lamestream media cheerleading for her return has led to believe.

Our source, who is a member of the Central Ohio Islamic community and is close to the Bary family, claims that Rifqa Bary’s older brother, Rilvan, has repeatedly bragged about providing specific information on Rifqa’s Florida foster family to San Francisco-based Islamic stalker-blogger Davi Barker (whose email is themuslimagorist@gmail.com for anyone who is curious), who claimed in one post that he knew Rifqa’s present location and issued this veiled threat:

I’ll tell you one thing reader… if she’s not safe in Ohio, she’s not safe in Florida. All it took was a little creative Googling and I was able to determine the likely address where she’s staying*… But I digress.

Since Rifqa is currently in state custody and living with a Florida DCF-approved foster family, her location is confidential.

According to the source, Rilvan Bary provided Barker with the home phone number of the foster family – a potentially criminal act. (At some future point we might tell the scandalous story of how exactly how Rilvan obtained the home phone number of the foster family.) With that critical piece of information virtually anyone could locate her through “creative Googling”. The source further explained that Rilvan has bragged about passing off the information “to let her (Rifqa) know she could be gotten to anywhere” – a message Barker repeated with his “if she’s not safe in Ohio, she’s not safe in Florida” threat.

The source added Rilvan also provided Barker detailed information about several of Rifqa’s Christian associates in Ohio and elsewhere, presumably the same information contained on a computer thumb drive that the Bary family provided to the Orlando Sentinel through their representatives, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Our source expressed concern about providing any information that might identify them, but did allow us to provide one quote from our conversation:

I first believed Mohamed’s (Rifqa’s father) story, but after I heard Rilvan bragging to many people about what he had done, I now think there is a real concern for her safety. Why would he do such a thing? Many people in the Muslim community have heard about what he (Rilvan) did, but now that CAIR and the Noor Center have now taken control of this issue no one else is going to speak out. Even Mohamed is following their orders.

After several bloggers called Davi Barker out on his threat to Rifqa’s safety, he quickly added a clarification to his post that he did not mean his comments to be a threat. He has also made defamatory claims against several of her Christian associates, including accusing them of crimes, which he has since retracted. (I sincerely hope those involved would consider pursuing their legal rights against Barker.)

We have additional info on Rifqa’s POS brother and his stalker-blogger accomplice, but this new development raises questions about the shoddy investigative work by law enforcement in both Ohio and Florida who have assured everyone that there is no threat to Rifqa Bary. The question is whether they are more concerned about offending the self-appointed leaders of the Muslim community or ensuring Rifqa Bary’s safety. The answer is becoming clear.

What’s The Pakistani Word For “ACORN?”

    Color me surprised.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — The United States has long suspected that much of the billions of dollars it has sent Pakistan to battle militants has been diverted to the domestic economy and other causes, such as fighting India.

Now the scope and longevity of the misuse is becoming clear: Between 2002 and 2008, while Al Qaeda regrouped, only $500 million of the $6.6 billion in American aid actually made it to the Pakistani military, two army generals tell The Associated Press.

The account of the generals, who asked to remain anonymous because military rules forbid them from speaking publicly, was backed up by other retired and active generals, former bureaucrats and government ministers.

At the time of the siphoning, Pervez Musharraf, a Washington ally, served as both chief of staff and president, making it easier to divert money intended for the military to bolster his sagging image at home through economic subsidies.

“The army itself got very little,” said retired Gen. Mahmud Durrani, who was Pakistan’s ambassador to the U.S. under Musharraf. “It went to things like subsidies, which is why everything looked hunky-dory. The military was financing the war on terror out of its own budget.”

I don’t have much to say about this situation, except for this.

    Report: Carter Engineered Terrorists-for-Video Swap

    by Maayana Miskin
Follow Israel news on Twitter and Facebook.

(IsraelNN.com) Former United States President Jimmy Carter played an active role in the Israel-Hamas exchange last week in which Israel released 20 female terrorists in exchange for a short video of hostage soldier Gilad Shalit. Carter’s involvement was revealed by senior Hamas terrorist Mahmoud A-Zahar in an interview with the Arab-language daily Al-Kuds al-Arabi.

While current U.S. politicians do not speak to Hamas, which is recognized internationally as a terrorist group, Carter has had frequent contact with the group as a private citizen. He has met with Hamas’s Gaza head, Ismail Haniyeh, and its foreign leader, Khaled Mashaal.

In December of 2008 Carter met with Mashaal and advised him on the price to demand in exchange for Shalit. Carter has also met with Shalit’s family, and in a visit during June 2009, reported that he had delivered a letter from them to Hamas to give to the captive soldier.

Carter has pushed Israel to open direct negotiations with Hamas, and during his June visit, expressed disappointment in Israel’s lack of empathy for Hamas’s aims. “Unfortunately, Israelis don’t remember that there are 11,700 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails… They don’t understand Hamas’s aim to bring about the release of at least some of these prisoners,” he said in a meeting with members of Gush Shalom.

Carter expressed sympathy with Palestinian Authority terrorists held in Israel, telling Gush Shalom members that they fared worse than Shalit during their incarceration.

    Also Involved: Germany
A-Zahar also credited German mediators with bringing about the swap of terrorists for video footage. The swap proves that German involvement in the Shalit affair could bring about results, he said.

Thanks for the reminder, jr! I do recall looking into this a couple years back. If you’d like to look into this further, this may be a good place to start:

  150. Troy Says:

jr, regarding the above video…Be skeptical of that one…A lot of disinfo is intentionally put out there for the purpose of discrediting what is already known….They would never use guillotines, because it creates too much of a mess and it is too slow (one at a time)….It would also create two seperate body parts that would have to be disposed of…It’s just not efficient at all….If they can get disinfo like this to go viral and be repeated far and wide, then it becomes a tool used by them to ridicule, discredit and marginalize the percentage of the populace that is aware of their agenda….This one isn’t feasible.

  151. rosettasister Says:

Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former director of the Congressional Budget Office: Mr. Holtz-Eakin asked who would pay for the Senate Finance Committee’s version of health care reform, then answered his own question. Every American, he said, including millions who wouldn’t be able to afford it.

(Mr. Holtz-Eakin was on Fox this morning. Basically he’s saying the same thing Krauthammer and others are saying. Obama will sign a HCR bill this year, probably a stripped-down version of what most on the left want. So let’s not hide our heads in the sand. Any public “option” would be in what Judd Gregg calls the “sidecar” bill, and would need 60 votes. But a trigger similar to Snowe’s trigger could probably muster 60 votes. If we really mean it when we say no more government-run health care, then I think we should be concentrating on the legislative language of that trigger, when it gets written. And make sure that trigger doesn’t ever get pulled.)

  152. rosettasister Says:

Dems face choices on public option plans

Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) scored a significant win Thursday when her proposal

*** to direct federal dollars to optional state-based public plans ***

(Why not coops instead? Where’s the trigger?)

was attached to the bill with the support of Baucus, Conrad and all of the panel’s Democrats except Sen. Blanche Lincoln, who is up for reelection in the conservative state of Arkansas.

Meanwhile, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) has been feeling out his fellow Democrats on a kind of all-in-one compromise.

Under Carper’s plan, states would decide to use federal money to

    a) found a private co-op,

    b) set up state-based or regional public plans or (Why “public” plans? Why not just coops? This one does have a trigger but we don’t know the details.)

    c) allow people to buy into the state employees’ healthcare plan.

And finally, there’s Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe (Maine).

Obama and Senate Democratic leaders ardently want Snowe to join their cause and be probably the lone Republican on their side.

Snowe opposes a national public option but has floated

a proposal that would “trigger” a public option (Why not “trigger” a coop instead?)

in states where insurance companies are not adequately serving the market.

(Snowe was absolutely wrong to cave on the stimulus when she did. We could have gotten a better deal. But at least she’s trying to prevent more government-run health care by offering her trigger as an alternative. Remember, there’s a trigger in Bush’s prescription coverage for the elderly which has never been pulled. The devil is in the details of how the legislative language is written.)

  153. Troy Says:

This is probably the closest theory of the truth, so far….The author, in a couple of spots, makes a typo when he refers to Madelyn Dunham as Marilyn.
    by John Charlton

Obama cannot prove when or where he was born, nor who his parents were. This is the legal conclusion of the evidence he has released in his online COLB and Terrik’s investigation into terminology regarding “filed” and “received”, as well as her own, Donofrio’s, Justin Rigg’s and KingsKid’s correspondence with the Director’s office at the Hawaiian Department of Health.

What I just said may not seem new: but to explain better here is my speculative reconstruction of what happened, based on my tweaked version of what Ramjet (www.thebirthers.org) suggested in a comment at Terrik’s blog, where I have posted this theory, in my own comment. Here I flesh it out.

Stanely Ann Dunham at a Friday night party on Nov. 4, 1960, meets Barrack Hussein Obama, Sr., and Barry Jr. is subsequently conceived.

Stanley Ann enrolls in the Russian Language course to give her a more reasonable motive for meeting Barrack Hussein Obama. She subsequently admits to her mother that he is the father, and Madelyn Dunham insists on a civil marriage to protect her daughter’s honor.

But as the months pass Madelyn cannot accept what she perceives as the shame that will occur when her grandchild is born, showing evident signs of an interracial marriage.

Stanley Ann also discovers that Barrack Hussein Obama has a first wife, and that her marriage to him in Hawaii is bigamous and invalid.

So mother and daughter plan to have the birth at home; and Stanley Ann stops seeing Obama Sr..

Barry is born Aug. 4, 1961.

A few days later Madelyn submits an at home birth form, with her own signature. Stanley Ann does not sign, because she refuses to swear to what her mother put on the form. Obama Sr. does not sign it either, because Madelyn won’t let him near the daughter, or have anything to do with the birth; let alone appear at an office and get his signature notarized.

Why? Because Marilyn is to submit an at-home birth form in which parents and child are declared to be WHITE.

This, in her mind, will save her and her daughter from the shame of giving birth to a mixed race child.

Upon receipt of the form, the Department of Health Registrar of Vital Records sends out a request for further corroborating information: signatures of father and mother, for example. But Madelyn has already had Stanley Ann sent to Washington State to study at college, so that she can get a degree and have the means to support the child. Neverthelss the birth annoucement is sent to the 2 Hawaiian newspapers, listing Aug. 4th, 1961, to Mr. & Mrs. Barack Hussein Obama. “Barack” and not “Barrack”, because Marilyn wouldn’t even pick up the phone to ask the father how to spell the name.

Neither Madelyn nor Stanley Ann ever take action further on this filing. It is classified as “filed” not “received” nor “accepted”.

Ramjet says: “She thus filed the birth registration after the (Nordyke) twins registration even though Obama was born before the twins. That would account for the out-of-order file numbers for Obama and the twins at first glance based simply on the dates of birth reported.”

Years later Barry Jr. finds this original filing document in a closet., along with his vaccination records and a newspaper article — this much he admits in Dreams of My Father. He has already been trained to hate the white race by Frank Marshal Davis (ibid., “I came to hate the white blood in my veins” ), so when he sees grandma’s filing he goes beserk, because it says that he is WHITE.

So sometime thereafter, he files an alteration request (Amendment is for adoptions only), and gets the AFRICAN race classification put on it, instead of the “white;” this is some time after “negro” is no longer used by the State of Hawaii to classify the predominate race of sub-saharan Africa.

But this filing is also not entirely accepted, because his father and mother are already dead.

So before granny conveniently dies, Obama Jr. tries to get her to give him an affidavit so that he can get his birth record accepted. He does get something, but HI still won’t “accept” it, because she is a third party.

So he is really in a fix, since he has no legal evidence of his birth, AND IN FACT CANNOT PROVE WHEN OR WHERE HE WAS BORN, LET ALONE HIS PARENTS IDENTITY.

This is why when he files his Selective Service Registration he does not show his BC, because he does not have one.

What he does do, is have his campaign issue a COLB to show the information claimed by Madelyn Dunham in her affidavit, that is why this online COLB image says date “filed”, not date “accepted”.

His lawyers give him this advice, since they believe that so long as there are no contrary affidavits outstanding, that he can legally claim a HI birth, with Dunham and Obama Sr. as parents.

This is why Kenya will not admit to having documents that prove Obama Sr. is his father; because there are none in existence anywhere.

And this is why his lawyers fight discovery in every jurisdiction where a suit is filed; because HI law explicitly states that the vital record will be authenticated by the court to which it is submitted as evidence; and an affidavit of Madelyn Dunham, without signatures of mother or father, is worthless hearsay evidence. This is also why Obama supporters are so riled at Kenyan BC’s popping up everwhere: because these, even when unauthenticated, have just as much legal weight as Obama’s actual documentation.

What his lawyers did not count on is the NBC issue; because in his attempt to assert the truth of what his grandmom claimed, he has unwittingly asserted that he is not a natural born citizen, claiming, as he has done, a british subject as his father.

Hawaii officials are asked to be reticent on this issue of the Madelyn Dunham filing, so that pesky citizens won’t connect the dots. Their reticence is secured through threats of prosecution and civil damages for damaging the reputation of their client. HI says there is a BC, by which they mean this at-birth-home filing which is not accepted; it also says there are vital records, because it includes Obama Jr.’s filing for an alteration, for his race, which also is not accepted because it lacks signatures of witnesses to the birth. In Oct. 2008, Fukino spoke of “a” birth certificate; in July 2009 she speaks of “vital records”, now in the plural, since Obama has subsequently filed a request to alter the original.

Now Obama’s goose is double cooked, because of those same pesky citizens who have outed the facts and connected the dots.

And this pesky citizen is sketching in the image produced by their work.

Obama is proven a liar regarding his birth story, and he has self-admitted the facts which disprove that he is eligible for holding the office of U.S. President.

I am also of the opinion that most of the virulent Obots on the net are paid employees of the Obama campaign or affiliate union/activist organizations, with specific instructions during the last 14 months to run cover for this glaring legal problem, and attack anyone who in any point of the story arrives near to the truth of what happened. By this deflective harrassment, the truth has been concealed these 14 months.

When the US labor market will begin to recover

Based on the previous two cycles, employment might recover within the next 11-21 months after June, or between May 2010 and March 2011!

It fell 289,000 during the 11 months following the recession trough of March 1991 and 1.08mn during the 21 months following the November 2001 trough.

So far, it is down 768,000 from June through September.

A similar analysis suggests that the unemployment rate should peak 15-19 months after June, or sometime between September 2010 and January 2011!

(As late as March 2011! Dear God, this is depressing!)

Where the heck is the high and mighty SCOTUS in all this? Bunch of cowards. Meanwhile, America is taking it on the chin because this guy and his gang have taken over. I sure hope that at least it prevents him from running for a second term.

  158. rosettasister Says:

    A second stimulus?

They certainly won’t call it “stimulus,” which is a toxic word these days.

I could see more aid to state and local governments, an expanded housing credit, expanded unemployment benefits.

They could surprise with a payroll tax cut.

SCENARIOS: Obama’s options in Afghan war

The following are some possible courses of action Obama could choose to adopt:

Top Republicans in Congress and some analysts believe the Afghan war effort is under-resourced despite this year’s troop increases and requires a further big boost in military forces.

They have thrown their support behind McChrystal, who in a confidential assessment warned policymakers that the war would end in failure without additional troops and changes in strategy aimed at gaining the trust of the Afghan people.

But signing off on a 30,000 to 40,000 troop increase would be politically difficult for Obama due to the unease within his own Democratic party and fatigue among the American public after eight years of war in Afghanistan and six in Iraq.

It would also raise concerns among U.S. officials that Afghans will see NATO and U.S. forces as hostile occupiers if their presence is too large. Gates has in the past voiced this concern, although he has since said he accepts McChrystal’s argument that Afghans’ perceptions will be driven more by how the troops behave than their numbers.

Obama could decide to add around 10,000 to 15,000 troops to provide more combat power and increase the training of Afghan forces. McChrystal’s predecessor, U.S. Army General David McKiernan, had already signaled he wanted some 10,000 extra troops in 2010.

With the insurgency still strong in the south, regaining ground in the east and making new inroads in other parts of the country, the request for a moderate increase in troops may now be seen by military officers as the very minimum required. Politically, this option would provoke some opposition within Obama’s party but probably not enough to make the administration change course.

(See above link for other possible courses of action.)

Appearing on CNN, White House National Security Adviser James Jones pointed to al Qaeda “sanctuaries” in Pakistan as “the problem, the next step” in the fight against the group.

Washington hopes expanding U.S.-Pakistani military ties “will lead to a campaign against all insurgents on that side of the border,” Jones told CBS’s “Face the Nation.” He said such a “strategic shift … will spill over into Afghanistan.”

Analysts say Islamabad has so far only been acting against militants that directly threaten its power, like Mehsud’s Taliban, while leaving alone some of the groups leading the fight against NATO in neighboring Afghanistan.

U.S. officials see the Pakistani army’s offensive against the former Taliban bastion in Swat, 80 miles (128 km) northwest of Islamabad, as a sign that the country’s political and military leaders have learned from past missteps.

APF Changes Name, Logo and Website To “Diffuse Tension”
    by DefendUSx October 05, 2009 12:01
Serbian crest altered, claim that APF runs U.S. Training Center deleted

    Paul Joseph Watson
    Prison Planet.com
    Monday, October 5, 2009

In response to growing criticism and suspicion, American Police Force has changed its name, changed its logo and altered several areas of its website in an attempt to “diffuse tension” surrounding the private paramilitary organization that wants to take over law enforcement duties while bossing a $27 million dollar detention facility in Hardin, Montana.

Following threats of legal action on behalf of the government of Serbia against APF for using a near copy of the Serbian Coat of Arms, on Sunday the logo was changed although it still remains a double-headed eagle, which is widely accepted as signifying imperial power, not something many would be comfortable with for an organization that wants to provide law enforcement.

In addition, the company has changed its name from American Police Force to American Private Police Force.

The organization has also changed the language on its website and altered the claim that it runs the U.S. Training Center, which is actually controlled by Blackwater.

The previous statement on this page read, “Our extensive tactical firearms training facility, the U.S. Training Center is capable of providing a wide range of instruction and training for all types of law enforcement organizations,” a passage that was lifted directly from the Blackwater or “Xe” website.

Following rumors of threats from Blackwater, the page now reads, “Our extensive tactical firearms training facility (ETA Spring 2010) will be capable of providing a wide range of instruction and training for all types of law enforcement organizations.”

Why APF originally claimed that they already had a training center, whereas now they say it won’t even be ready until 2010, is just another one of the bizarre mysteries surrounding the organization.

“The group’s leader, Capt. Michael Hilton said the crest was a family emblem and he used it to honor his grandfather. APF Spokeswoman Becky Shay said she is not aware of any lawsuit from the consulate and Hilton made the change as, “the quickest thing he could to diffuse tension” with the old logo. She would not elaborate on exactly what those tensions were,” reports KURL 8 News.

There has been a noticeable effort on behalf of APF over the last few days to portray themselves as victims of a media harassment campaign, particularly heaping blame on Alex Jones and his crew for being persistent in demanding answers from the organization. The people of Hardin need to understand that the last people to wake up to being scammed are those who have been targeted by the scam, known as the “mark”. In this case, the media is their friend, not their enemy and people in the town need to come to this realization before it’s too late.

This attempt to shift the emphasis of the story has also served to distract from the core issue behind the whole saga – that Hardin is close to turning over a $27 million dollar detention camp as well as responsibility for policing the town, to a career criminal and a convicted fraudster who Wyoming authorities still have an arrest warrant out for. This fact alone should torpedo the whole deal and ensure APF never realize their agenda to implement similar schemes in dozens more towns and cities across America.

Two Rivers Authority board members will meet today to discuss the contract with APPF to man the $27 million dollar detention facility in Hardin. The meeting will take place at the Hardin City Hall from 3pm and is open to the public.

Obama: Trilateral Commission Endgame (Obama presidency is a disingenuous fraud)
    by DefendUSx October 05, 2009 12:24
    By Patrick Wood

As previously noted in Pawns of the Global Elite, Barack Obama was groomed for the presidency by key members of the Trilateral Commission. Most notably, it was Zbigniew Brzezinski, co-founder of the Trilateral Commission with David Rockefeller in 1973, who was Obama’s principal foreign policy advisor.

The pre-election attention is reminiscent of Brzezinski’s tutoring of Jimmy Carter prior to Carter’s landslide election in 1976.

For anyone who doubts the Commission’s continuing influence on Obama, consider that he has already appointed no less than nine members of the Commission to top-level and key positions in his Administration.

According to official Trilateral Commission membership lists, there are only 87 members from the United States (the other 337 members are from other regions). Thus, in less than two weeks since his inauguration, Obama’s appointments encompass more than 10% of Commission’s entire U.S. membership.

Is this a mere coincidence or is it a continuation of dominance over the Executive Branch since 1976? (For important background, read The Trilateral Commission: Usurping Sovereignty.)

1- Secretary of Treasury, Tim Geithner
2- Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice
3- National Security Advisor, Thomas Donilon
4- Chairman, Economic Recovery Committee, Paul Volker
5- Director of National Intelligence, Admiral Dennis C. Blair
6- Assistant Secretary of State, Asia & Pacific, Kurt M. Campbell
7- Deputy Secretary of State, James Steinberg
8- State Department, Special Envoy, Richard Haass
9- State Department, Special Envoy, Dennis Ross
10- State Department, Special Envoy, Richard Holbrooke

There are many other incidental links to the Trilateral 12- 12- Commission, for instance,

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is married to Commission member William Jefferson Clinton.

Geithner’s informal group of advisors include E. Gerald Corrigan, Paul Volker, Alan Greenspan and Peter G. Peterson, among others. His first job after college was with Henry Kissinger at Kissinger Associates.

Brent Scowcroft has been an unofficial advisor to Obama and was mentor to Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Robert Zoelick is currently president of the World Bank

Laurence Summers, White House Economic Advisor, was mentored by former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin during the Clinton administration.

There are many other such links, but these are enough for you to get the idea of what’s going on here.

    Analyze the positions

Notice that five of the Trilateral appointees involve the State Department, where foreign policy is created and implemented. Hillary Clinton is certainly in line with these policies because her husband, Bill Clinton, is also a member.

What is more important than economic recovery? Paul Volker is the answer.

What is more important than national intelligence? Thomas Donilon and Adm. Dennis Blair hold the two top positions.

What is more important than the Treasury and the saving of our financial system? Timothy Geithner says he has the answers.

This leaves Susan Rice, Ambassador to the United Nations. The U.N. is the chosen instrument for ultimate global governance. Rice will help to subvert the U.S. into the U.N. umbrella of vassal states.

    Conflict of interest

Since 1973, the Commission has met regularly in plenary sessions to discuss policy position papers developed by its members. Policies are debated in order to achieve consensuses. Respective members return to their own countries to implement policies consistent with those consensuses.

The original stated purpose of the Trilateral Commission was to create a “New International Economic Order.” Its current statement has morphed into fostering a “closer cooperation among these core democratic industrialized areas of the world with shared leadership responsibilities in the wider international system.” (See The Trilateral Commission web site)

U.S. Trilateral members implement policies determined by a majority of non-Americans that most often work against the best interests of the country.

    “How,” you say?

Since the administration of Jimmy Carter, Trilaterals held these massively influential positions:

    1. Six out of eight World Bank presidents, including the current appointee, Robert Zoelick
    2. Eight out of ten U.S. Trade Representatives
    3. President and/or Vice-President of every elected administration
    4. Seven out of twelve Secretaries of State
    5. Nine out of twelve Secretaries of Defense
    6. Is this sinking in? Are you grasping the enormity of it?

    Endgame is at hand

For the Trilateral crowd, the game is about over. The recent reemergence of original members Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Brent Scowcroft and Paul Volker serves to reinforce the conclusion that the New International Economic Order is near.

The Trilateral Commission and its members have engineered the global economic, trade and financial system that is currently in a state of total chaos.

Does that mean that they have lost? Hardly.

As I recently wrote in Chorus call for New World Order, they are using the crisis to destroy what remains of national sovereignty, so that a New World Order can finally and permanently be put into place.

The Obama presidency is a disingenuous fraud. He was elected by promising to bring change, yet from the start change was never envisioned. He was carefully groomed and financed by the Trilateral Commission and their friends.

In short, Obama is merely the continuation of disastrous, non-American policies that have brought economic ruin upon us and the rest of the world. The Obama experience rivals that of Jimmy Carter, whose campaign slogan was “I will never lie to you.”

When the Democrat base finally realizes that it has been conned again (Bill Clinton and Al Gore were members), perhaps it will unleash a real political revolution that will oust Trilateral politicians, operatives and policies from the shores of our country.

If the reader is a Democrat, be aware that many Republicans and conservatives are still licking their wounds after finally realizing that George Bush and Dick Cheney worked the same con on them for a disastrous eight years of the same policies!

Entering the Greatest Depression in History

    Lew Rockwell
    October 5, 2009

In light of the ever-present and unyieldingly persistent exclamations of “an end” to the recession, a “solution” to the crisis, and a “recovery” of the economy; we must remember that we are being told this by the very same people and institutions which told us, in years past, that there was “nothing to worry about,” that “the fundamentals are fine,” and that there was “no danger” of an economic crisis.

Why do we continue to believe the same people that have, in both statements and choices, been nothing but wrong? Who should we believe and turn to for more accurate information and analysis? Perhaps a useful source would be those at the epicenter of the crisis, in the heart of the shadowy world of central banking, at the global banking regulator, and the “most prestigious financial institution in the world,” which accurately predicted the crisis thus far: The Bank for International Settlements (BIS). This would be a good place to start.

The economic crisis is anything but over, the “solutions” have been akin to putting a band-aid on an amputated arm. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the central bank to the world’s central banks, has warned and continues to warn against such misplaced hopes.

What is the Bank for International Settlements (BIS)?

The BIS emerged from the Young Committee set up in 1929, which was created to handle the settlements of German reparations payments outlined in the Versailles Treaty of 1919. The Committee was headed by Owen D. Young, President and CEO of General Electric, co-author of the 1924 Dawes Plan, member of the Board of Trustees of the Rockefeller Foundation and was Deputy Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. As the main American delegate to the conference on German reparations, he was also accompanied by J.P. Morgan, Jr.[1] What emerged was the Young Plan for German reparations payments.

The Plan went into effect in 1930, following the stock market crash. Part of the Plan entailed the creation of an international settlement organization, which was formed in 1930, and known as the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). It was purportedly designed to facilitate and coordinate the reparations payments of Weimar Germany to the Allied powers. However, its secondary function, which is much more secretive, and much more important, was to act as “a coordinator of the operations of central banks around the world.” Described as “a bank for central banks,” the BIS “is a private institution with shareholders but it does operations for public agencies. Such operations are kept strictly confidential so that the public is usually unaware of most of the BIS operations.”[2]

The BIS was founded by “the central banks of Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, and the United Kingdom along with three leading commercial banks from the United States, including J.P. Morgan & Company, First National Bank of New York, and First National Bank of Chicago. Each central bank subscribed to 16,000 shares and the three U.S. banks also subscribed to this same number of shares.” However, “Only central banks have voting power.”[3]

Central bank members have bi-monthly meetings at the BIS where they discuss a variety of issues. It should be noted that most “of the transactions carried out by the BIS on behalf of central banks require the utmost secrecy,”[4] which is likely why most people have not even heard of it. The BIS can offer central banks “confidentiality and secrecy which is higher than a triple-A rated bank.”[5]

  189. Troy Says:

The Post & Email just spoke with a secretaryy of Mr. Charles Lincoln about the hearing, and publishes this summary:

It was a long hearing from about 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM Pacific time, with only a 20 minute recess. More than 100 persons attended. There was an overflow room with video hookup to accomodate everyone.

Judge Carter issued no ruling on the Motion to Dismiss, nor to grant discovery. He cited his need to sort out the complex legal issues, consider all the arguments carefully.

During the hearing the specific agenda discussed was as follow (this is not in chronological order):

Judge Carter denied Attorney Gary Kreep’s Motion for Severance, which would have created a parallel case, for his clients.

Judge Carter questioned the Defense’s counsel, regarding the method of impeachment and how that would address this controversy.

Attorney Gary Kreep argued that the case does not involve impeachment; since Obama has entered office unlawfully.

Judge Carter questioned on what basis his court could issue a quo warrento proceeding, when the D.C. court had jurisdiction over this kind of proceeding. Dr. Orly Taitz responded by citing precedents in the 9th Circuit, that allowed quo warrento proceedings to be held in California, rather than in Washington, D.C., in account of the great distance to the other side of the continent.

When questioned about the injury suffered by other candidates on the ballot in California, Attorney Kreep explained the injury they suffered and the Judge responded thoughtfully to his arguments.

Regarding military plaintiffs, Judge Carter metioned that there was a ruling in the 9th circuit which denied standing to oath takers on the basis that this was not a particularized injury.

In all, Judge Carter was very concerned about standing claims and wanted to know what the actual injuries were, and how standing was being justified.

The Defense argued that the Court had no authority to hear the case, and that claims were political in nature and therefore not for the Judiciary to adjudicate.

Judge Carter pointed out that the case was unique and that there were no precedents to guide him thoroughly.

The Post & Email will interview Mr. Charles Lincoln live, and post this in a separate report in about 3 hours.

Hard for me to tell which way Judge Carter will rule on this. Seems to me Obama DOJ counsel focused their argument that only Congress has the appropriate role of removing sitting President.

I had the sense that Orly and Gary’s main arguments were for the ability to gather and present evidence to the legality of Mr. Obama’s holding office, with the secondary issue of the court removing him when the Congress will not.

How Obama is exploiting phony ‘crisis’ to raise taxes, grab power, destroy U.S. sovereignty

Financial chaos, failing banks, skyrocketing unemployment, swine flu – crisis after crisis is being used by the Obama administration, critics claim, to facilitate an unprecedented federal power grab and socialist transformation of America.

So what could be worse than exploiting a serious crisis to rob citizens of their wealth and freedoms?

Answer: Exploiting a non-existent crisis – in fact, one specifically created as a pretext for absconding with more of Americans’ wealth, sovereignty and fundamental liberties.

That’s what the September edition of Whistleblower magazine – titled “POWER PLAY” – is all about.

This blockbuster report’s long subtitle says it all: “‘Cap-and-trade’: How Obama is using a phony crisis to advance global governance, cripple industry, tax everyone (especially the poor) and gain unprecedented power.”

Although the so-called “scientific consensus” on man-caused global warming has never existed, within the last year it has become embarrassingly obvious, with over 30,000 scientists openly declaring, in writing, that it is a fraud. More and more climatologists and other weather experts now say Al Gore’s claims that the oceans will rise 20 feet (and ABC News’ claim that they will rise 200 feet) are not only preposterously unscientific, but were concocted solely to panic Americans into adopting a socialist cap-and-trade “solution” put forth by the same people that created the “crisis.”

What about the U.N.’s vaunted Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, widely cited as proof of an international scientific “consensus” on the imminent threat of man-caused global warming? “POWER PLAY” reveals it to be a fraud – a servile political organization masquerading as an august scientific body.

Incredibly, “POWER PLAY” documents how “cap-and-trade” amounts to an unprecedented tax increase, one that disproportionately burdens the poor. Just as outrageous, top global warming proponents now admit cap-and-trade’s real purpose is implementing – in their own words – “global governance,” while making every citizen’s energy costs skyrocket, something Obama himself admitted during the 2008 presidential campaign.

As Whistleblower Editor David Kupelian shows in his article, “Government by crisis,” cap-and-trade is a perfect example of government by crisis, the hallmark of the Obama administration.

    Issue highlights include:

“‘Cap and trade’ your freedom” by Joseph Farah

“Government by crisis” by David Kupelian, on understanding the central operating principle of the Obama presidency

“Don’t fall for ‘cap-and-tax'” by Phyllis Schlafly, on Obama’s betrayal of his no-new-taxes promise and this “blatant attempt by globalists to override the Constitution”

“Gore boasts: ‘Global governance’ coming with carbon tax” by Bob Unruh, in which the global warming guru admits what is really behind “cap-and-trade”

“2 out of 3 Americans oppose carbon taxes” by Bob Unruh – a survey revealing a huge majority of voters resist opening their wallets for cap-and-trade

“Obama: Spike energy costs to make people go ‘green'” by Drew Zahn, who documents Obama’s campaign proposal that government create “price signals” to control Americans’ behavior

“Cap-and-tax: Government vs. America” by David Limbaugh, on why the Democrats’ “egregiously obscene'” climate bill would wreck the economy

“How much cooling is enough?” by Walter Williams, in which the economist explains cap-and-trade as “a radical environmentalist’s dream come true”

“Global warming dissenters dash scientific ‘consensus'” by Drew Zahn, about why the physicist fired by Gore added his name to a Senate list of 650 anti-alarmists

“‘Global warming’ simply no longer happening” – temperatures are dropping, there are fewer hurricanes, arctic ice is growing, and polar bear populations are up

“EPA’s own research expert ‘shut up’ on climate change,” by Chelsea Schilling, on the government analyst who was silenced after he critiqued his own agency’s CO2 findings

“Exposing the U.N.’s ‘phony’ climate-change experts” by Christopher Horner, on how the Nobel-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change foists bogus claims on the world

“German scientists urge chancellor to ‘reconsider’ views” by Marc Morano, on the experts who say: “The belief of climate change, and that it is manmade, has become a pseudo-religion”

“American Chemical Society scientists revolt” by Marc Morano, on the call for the ouster of “startled” editor who claimed climate change consensus is “growing”

“Ron Paul to Congress: 31,000 scientists say you’re wrong” by Bob Unruh, on the Texas lawmaker’s challenge to colleagues to wake up to fact that there is no warming “consensus”

“Mr. Obama, tear down this wall!” by Arthur Robinson, in which the Ph.D. scientist tells how to solve America’s energy, environmental and economic problems
“The cap-and-trade legislation currently before Congress,” says Kupelian, “will dramatically raise taxes in the middle of a depression, crush industry and undermine American sovereignty – all to cure a problem that doesn’t exist, and which even if it did exist, couldn’t begin to solve the problem, but would still devastate the nation. In short, it’s a monstrosity.”

He warns: “In terms of the 2010 election, cap-and-trade is a litmus test for Congress members’ sanity: You can’t be a sane, responsible, honest representative and support this legislation. It’s crucial that Americans understand what this is really all about – an all-out assault on America – and let their congressmen know before it’s too late.”

Both were discussing the coming Martial Law scenario. They said the plan will go down in less than 3-6 hours from the point that Martial Law for a Pandemic is declared. Law enforcement will block off cities from the ring roads and everything inside will be in the killzone. They will shut off all utilities: power, gas, water, phone lines, cell phones, etc. No assistance will be provided inside those cities. And nothing will come out of them.

Troops commanders will order them to empty the grocery stores, drug stores and gas stations. Helos will spray tanks will assist the Bio agent and when the ‘burning’ is finally done, it will be a Mad Max scenario. Gangs inside (such as MS 13) will be given free reign from the government to wreak any havoc they desire. The people will then lead for the Jackboots to come in and save them.

Therefore, you need to have 3 alternate routes identified to get out at the first notice of the Pandemic/Martial Law. ”

Judge refuses Obama demand to dismiss eligibility case now – will hear arguments

    by DefendUSx October 05, 2009 18:03

A federal judge in California today listened to government lawyers argue that a lawsuit over President Obama’s eligibility should be immediately dismissed but refused to grant their request, saying he would make his decision and announce it later.

The result came this morning from U.S. District Judge David Carter, who already has set a tentative trial date for the dispute Jan. 26, 2010. The judge also already had lawyers draw up a tentative schedule for hearings and deadlines in preparation for the trial.

WND previously reported on plans for the hearing handled by attorneys Orly Taitz and Gary Kreep, each representing separate clients.

The lawsuit was brought by several political candidates and party officials, including former U.S. ambassador Alan Keyes and Wiley Drake and Markham Robinson of the American Independent Party.

They are suing Obama alleging he is not eligible to be president under the U.S. Constitution’s requirement for a “natural born” citizen in the Oval Office. Forty-six of the plaintiffs are represented by Taitz, who has worked on a multitude of lawsuits over Obama’s eligibility, and two – Drake and Robinson – are represented by Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation.

Kreep told WND after the hearing it appeared to him the judge was expecting answers and failed to get them from government attorneys during the hearing.

“He was asking the [Department of Justice] to explain impeachment. If he really was [legitimately president], how would that work.”

Kreep said he argued impeachment wasn’t relevant, since “you have to have a valid, elected president.” He said a court hearing with full disclosure of evidence is required, since the impeachment provision wouldn’t technically apply to someone who never was qualified to be president.

Taitz was contacted by WND but declined to comment on today’s hearing.

But Kreep said he argued that a simple numbers formula also doesn’t apply. Many of the government arguments have noted the candidates who are plaintiffs, such as Keyes, did not have a reasonable mathematical probability of winning the presidential election.

That assertion is not relevant, Kreep said he argued. Had Obama’s ineligibility been publicized before the election, Hillary Clinton likely would have become the nominee, and she might have been vulnerable to other candidates, he said.

Carter’s order that no discovery of evidence will be allowed until his decision was continued today.

Lawyers representing Obama in the case claim “no single federal district court has the power to declare that a sitting president is not fit or qualified to occupy the office, and is, therefore, not a legitimate president.”

The attorneys have argued the election process and Constitution allow only Congress to examine the credentials of a presidential candidate, and in any event, that opportunity is long gone.

They have argued, “Plaintiffs simply are not the proper parties to challenge President Obama’s qualifications or fitness for office and this court is not the proper forum to decide this issue.”

The plaintiffs, however, have argued on behalf of their “real, tangible injuries” from Obama’s placement in the White House. If he is not eligible, “they have been denied a free and fair election.”

They have suggested the simplest resolution is to put Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other government officials under oath and question them about Obama’s birth and birth records.

They also have indicated plans to ask, if given permission by the court, for copies of Hawaiian records regarding Obama’s birth, Washington state records regarding him and his mother, his Harvard Law School records, passport records and a long list of other documents.

According to Sept. 25 court documents the DOJ filed in response to Kreep’s opposition to dismissal, the DOJ states, “The arguments made by these plaintiffs, in large measure, completely ignore the fact that Barack Obama is the president of the United States and seek to treat him as simply a candidate for office. Try as they might, plaintiffs cannot conceal the fact that what they are really seeking in this case is nothing less than a determination by this United States District Court that President Obama should be removed from office. The preposterous nature of this assertion is readily apparent. No single United States District Court has the power to try the question of whether a sitting president of the United States should be allowed to remain in office.”

Kreep has requested immediate access to Obama’s records, such as his original long-form birth certificate and his Occidental College records. The plaintiffs’ suspicion is that those records would undermine the president’s statements that he is a “natural born” citizen, which could disqualify him. For example, an original birth certificate could indicate it was a “delayed” filing, which could open the door for a birth location outside the United States.

Likewise, the Occidental College records could be significant if Obama attended on a program for foreign students or represented himself as a foreign student at the time.

The DOJ also filed a separate response to Taitz’ opposition to dismissal Sept. 25, stating, “Much of the opposition filed by these plaintiffs is a disjointed polemic, completely devoid of citation to any case or statutory authority. Defendants will not waste the court’s time, or that of undersigned counsel by seeking to respond to the many irrelevant statements and references made therein.”
In other words Orly’s response to the defense’s MTD was a bunch of rambling BS…Why am I not surprised?

Arab states have launched secret moves with China, Russia and France to stop using the US currency for oil trading
    By Robert Fisk

In the most profound financial change in recent Middle East history, Gulf Arabs are planning – along with China, Russia, Japan and France – to end dollar dealings for oil, moving instead to a basket of currencies including the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.

Secret meetings have already been held by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean that oil will no longer be priced in dollars.

The plans, confirmed to The Independent by both Gulf Arab and Chinese banking sources in Hong Kong, may help to explain the sudden rise in gold prices, but it also augurs an extraordinary transition from dollar markets within nine years.

The Americans, who are aware the meetings have taken place – although they have not discovered the details – are sure to fight this international cabal which will include hitherto loyal allies Japan and the Gulf Arabs. Against the background to these currency meetings, Sun Bigan, China’s former special envoy to the Middle East, has warned there is a risk of deepening divisions between China and the US over influence and oil in the Middle East. “Bilateral quarrels and clashes are unavoidable,” he told the Asia and Africa Review. “We cannot lower vigilance against hostility in the Middle East over energy interests and security.”

This sounds like a dangerous prediction of a future economic war between the US and China over Middle East oil

Dismissal of Obama birthplace lawsuit argued
    October 5th, 2009, 12:42 pm
posted by Martin Wisckol, Politics reporter

The issue of whether Barack Obama’s birthplace and legitimacy as president deserves to go to trial was argued this morning in Santa Ana, with no immediate ruling by U.S. District Court Judge David O. Carter.

The three-hour hearing included allegations – but not evidence – that Obama was actually born in Kenya, that he has used 39 Social Security numbers, and that Congress is too corrupt to properly address the legitimacy of the presidency.

However, the pertinent issue is the dismissal motion filed by the U.S. attorneys defending Obama was whether the court – and not Congress – is the proper venue for challenging the president’s legitimacy and, to a lesser extent, whether the plaintiffs were in fact harmed and have cause to bring the suit.

Gary Kreep, who along with Mission Viejo’s Orly Taitz is representing the plaintiffs, said the nature of Carter’s questions to attorneys on both sides lessened his confidence that the judge would allow the case to go to trial.

Carter did not say when he expected to issue a decision. Kreep said he thought Carter would issue a decision later this week. Similar lawsuits have been thrown out of at least two other federal courts.

Key to the defense motion for dismissal was the argument that the U.S. Constitution provides only Congress and the Electoral College with the authority to remove a sitting president from office.

“It would be disastrous if a single circuit court judge had the power to remove a president from office,” said Assistant United States Attorney Roger West.

Taitz argued that there are so few official checks on a candidate’s birthplace that “Osama bin Laden can be on your next presidential ballot and not one judge or official would stop him. He could bring $1 billion from Saudi Arabia and be elected.”

She alleged that Obama is has used 39 different Social Security numbers, most often using one of a man born in 1890. And she said she had no confidence that Congress would address her allegation that Obama was born abroad and so could not be president.

“We know how corrupt Congress is,” she said. “If we had a video of a group of Kenyan doctors surrounding Barack Obama at birth, speaking Swahili, they’d all find that this was insufficient evidence.”

Taitz then recounted growing up in the U.S.S.R, seeming to imply that the court’s failure to hear the case would be an abuse of justice akin to that seen under Joseph Stalin.

“(Defense attorneys) have no clue what disaster is,” she said. “I grew up in a country where nobody could challenge action as violating their constitutional rights against people like Stalin. The courts were just puppets of the regime.

“From the moment Mr. Obama began running, from the moment he opened his mouth, I knew where this was going,” she said. “I hope you will not take from my clients, from the American people, their constitutional rights.”

Carter spent most of his time trying to root out the merits of the both sides’ arguments, but he did make several comments in response to some of Taitz’s more flamboyant statements and activities – including the implication that he might be getting pressure from the powers that be to rule against her.

Carter pointed out that Taitz has posted on her Web site a note encouraging supporters to call Carter and ask that he back their cause. He said his office receives 40 to 100 such calls a day.

“If there’s any inappropriate pressure, it’s coming from that,” he said, asking her to stop it. “That’s not the America I grew up in, where we hear both sides and judge cases on their merits…. Regardless, the vast majority of the people I know who have run for government office are honest and ethical.”

Carter also broached the idea that being born in the U.S. might not necessarily be requirement to be president. The definition of “natural-born citizen” has been the source of debate. Presidential candidate John McCain was determined to be qualified because he was apparently born on a U.S. military installation in Panama.

“What if (McCain’s) mother had been in transit to West Germany and he had been born prematurely” in flight? Carter proposed. “How can you take the child of an American mother and say he can’t run for president.”

No one has questioned reports that Obama’s Kansas-born mother was an American citizen.

Carter also took exception to two Kenyan documents filed by Taitz that she alleges may prove that Obama was born in Kenya. Click here to see the one alleged to be his Kenyan birth registration. Click hereto see the one alleged to be Obama’s birth certificate. Both documents have drawn skepticism from experts – click here to read what they said about the birth registration.

Click here to read an investigation by the Annenberg Public Policy Institute – with photos – confirming Obama’s birth in Honolulu.

“Why am I going outside of my country for documents?” Carter asked. “I always thought our records and our country was to be emulated. These birth documents from Kenya are controversial.”

Kreep argued that the court should take up the issue because the Electoral College “is not doing the job they once did” and because, he said, there was no provision for Congress to examine verification of the president’s birth certificate.

U.S. attorneys also argued that the clients of Taitz and Kreep – mostly members of the military and third-party presidential and vice presidential candidates – had not suffered any injury by Obama’s presidency, and so had no standing to bring the lawsuit.

Taitz argued that her military clients should not be forced to deploy if the commander in chief does not hold that position legitimately. Kreep argued that there was no telling what the outcome of the election would have been or the impact third-party candidates would have had if Hillary Clinton had been the Democratic nominee.

Kreep also argued that all taxpayers would be hurt by an illegitimate presidents, since actions taken on their behalf would also be illegitimate.

However, Carter focused more on the the issue of whether the court – rather than Congress – was the proper venue to examine the issue, than on the issue of whether the plaintiffs were adequately injured. Kreep said that was an indication that the venue issue was more likely to decide whether the case would be dismissed.

Kreep also opined that it appeared that Carter had not yet made up his mind on the issue of dismissal.

I like Judge Carter, even though he didn’t specifically address the NBC issue wrt to Obama’s father’s British citizenship. I think it is a fair point that someone born to two citizens, on a brief trip outside the US, and where those citizen parents reside in the US would be considered NBC. I don’t believe it was the intent of the framers of the Constitution to exclude such a person, it was a question of allegiances. But Carter stuck with the issues that had been raised. Maybe I am wrong, but I don’t believe the issue of Barrack Sr’s British citizenship had been raised by Orly at all. At least, not that I can recall.

  276. Troy Says:

After rading the interview, I can say with almost certainty that Carter is going to dismiss the case on grounds of standing….This is total bullshit…Every single person in the country has standing, but not “particularized” standing…What a load of crap!!!!!

  277. Bones Says:

You may be right… my sense is he is still grappling with it but maybe he’s settling on no standing. We will soon see…

    Good night all! 🙂

  278. Troy Says:

I have an idea…Maybe one of the plaintiffs should whip out a pocket knife and cut one of their own fingers off right there in the courtroom…They can swear an affidavit that it was the stress of the whole situatuin that took them to the edge of sanity and caused them to mutilate theirself….That person would then be unique / different than previous plaintiffs and have “particularized” standing… 🙂 This whole “standing” issue is a line of BS that was concocted long ago as a tool for the priveledged to weasle out of facing judgement….I can guarantee you that if this case involved some Joe Schmoe or some sleazy ass person, then standing would not be a problem…I’m sick of this crap!!!

I’m genuinely sorry my call to you on blog radio seemed provoking earlier this evening. I’ve been a great fan of yours for the past year. I was endeavoring to relay my concern that establishing closure on the Hawaiian birth issue would not get around the inability of getting a federal court to hear the Natural Born Citizen case — and when you relayed of the “not too good” chances ever to get a court to hear, I began to wonder on the point of establishing the birth; that is, if no court would then address NBC. (Insofar as Hawaii, with you, I’ve felt BHO WAS born in Hawaii — and I do also think there is NO birth certificate other than the form submitted by BHO’s grandmother re BHO’s “home birth” (on which the COLB was based) — never attested to by either of BHO’s parents.)

[ed. I am sorry it got heated between us. I thought you were saying why bother with Quo warranto if it’s such a long shot. it’s only a long shot because it appears the deck is stacked, but under the law, we deserve our chance to petition the court. I felt that you were trying to convince me to give up. Please, feel free to make your question clear. I am from Queens. See “My Cousin Vinny”… I grew up in a household just like that. Arguing is in my blood. Peace be with you. ]

LA Attorney General (D) Launches ACORN Embezzlement Probe

It seems that Duane Rathke’s reported $1 million embezzlement was more like $5 million; and since some of that may have been public funds…
    Posted by Vladimir (Profile)

Tuesday, October 6th at 12:02AM EDT

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that LA Attorney General Buddy Caldwell, a Democrat, is on ACORN, as we say, like gravy on rice.

ACORN embezzlement was $5 million, La. attorney general says

The organization, until recently headquartered in New Orleans, had tried to keep the details of an embezzlement quiet. The embezzler, Dale Rathke, was the one-time bookkeeper for the organization. His brother, Wade Rathke, was President of ACORN International at the time, and saw to it that the unpleasantness was handled when he and “a donor” repaid $1 million of Dale’s improper credit card charges.

Now, however, AG Caldwell is following up on an ACORN internal report that the embezzlement was closer to $5 million.

Attorney General Buddy Caldwell has been conducting an investigation of ACORN since June. He issued subpoenas in August seeking documents related to former ACORN International President Wade Rathke and his brother Dale Rathke, who kept the group’s books. Those subpoenas were focused on possible ACORN violations for non-payment of employee withholding taxes, obstructing justice and violating the Employee Retirement Security Act. No charges have been made. …

“Current high-ranking members of ACORN have publicly acknowledged that embezzlement did in fact occur, but the exact amount of the embezzlement was unknown until it was recently acknowledged in a board of directors meeting on Oct. 17, 2008, by Bertha Lewis and Liz Wolf that an internal review had determined that the amount embezzled was $5 million, ” the new subpoena says.

The subpoena says, “It is still unclear if some of the monies embezzled are from state, federal or private funds.”

More money quotes from the subpoena:

ACORN was founded by Wade Rathke in 1970 and is the primary corporation which has 361 [!] related tax-exempt and non-tax exempt subsidiary entities.

Sounds like Buddy’s investigators have their work cut out for them. The documents they have requested are all the financial books, check registers, expense accounts, employee records, correspondence, emails, etc., etc., for a period encompassing several years.

A review of the records maintained by the Orleans Parish Recorder of Mortgages on August 3, 2009 revealed that 57 liens have been filed by the United States Treasury – Internal Revenue Service for the failure to properly pay withholding tax which was due. … Copies of the documents from sixteen of these liens which were filed between May 23, 2007 and September 9, 2008 were collected from the archives and the total amount of taxes due and not paid is $1,122,680.70.

Similarly, ACORN and related entities were deadbeats to the State of Louisiana to the tune of at least $306,000.

The AG’s investigation has drawn heavily on a July 2009 report to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform titled “Is ACORN Intentionally Structured As a Criminal Enterprise?”

  281. Troy Says:

Rathke didn’t embezzle one million…It was actually five!!!!

It looks like the NYT is guilty of accessary to embezzlement and obstruction of justice…Oh goody!!!
…….Now, the rest of the story that the New York Times won’t tell you.

Former ACORN/Project Vote worker Anita MonCrief — the independent whistleblower who worked closely with NYTimes reporter Stephanie Strom on exposing ACORN financial shenanigans last year before Times editors “cut bait” just weeks before Election Day — informed Strom that the true figure was $5 million.

MonCrief also reported the $5 million figure to Warner Todd Huston in April 2009.

Hey, New York Times conservative media monitor: Why don’t you ask Strom about this? Why don’t you ask MonCrief?

Michael McCray of the ACORN 8 had also reported the $5 million figure in an interview with blogger Doug Ross in July 2009:

If these reports about Orly/Kreep in court today are true?

i think dismissal is a foregone conclusion.

The only thing which might save us is if the judge decides to rule against the defense argument that the judiciary has no reason to be involved in this “political” issue.

It will depend on how much of an activist bench Judge Carter is willing to apply. It seems to me that the lack of intellectual acumen on the part of Taitz/Kreep will be the reason for the loss because obviously the defense wasn’t all that great. And if the Judge has “questions” regarding the lack of documentation re: eligibility, his ruling against discovery would allow an appeal, and I would not view this as passing the buck.

So one cannot expect a judge to rule in favor of Taitz if Taitz can’t argue the case but instead resort to emotional appeals, and add public pressure from outside the courts.

This judge has tried to be fair..

Don’t know Bones but it has different affects on different people. Also causes ringing in the ears for many. The reason I discovered that wrigley’s is now putting it in regular gum is that my tongue swelled after chewing Juicy Fruit. I looked at the label and was shocked it had aspartame. I emailed the Co and asked why they would put this awful substance in regular gum and went on about all of the suspected ill effects. They came back with all of this bs about the studies (I think most were done by Monsanto) saying it was safe. They use it because it is a flavor enhancer. Its awful that so many of these sugarfree products for children contain aspartame.

    John Holdren

What is clear from the record going back over nearly four decades is that White House science czar John Holdren is a climate alarmist, even if he can’t make up his mind whether the crisis is the Earth warming up or cooling down.

But long before Holdren was the global warming Cassandra he is today, he was a global cooling alarmist predicting a new ice age.

The only consistency seems to be that Holdren has always utilized climate hysteria to argue that government must mandate public policy measures to prevent imminent and otherwise unavoidable climate catastrophes.

In the 1970s, Holdren’s theme was that government-mandated population control was essential to prevent “eco-disasters” such as the foreseen coming new ice age; today Holdren urges immediate passage of the Obama administration’s proposed cap-and-trade legislation to control carbon emissions before it is too late to save the planet from global warming.

(The outcomes of these two races will certainly affect how Blue Dogs in the House and Senate vote on health care and other issues. Which is probably why Obama and Dems would like to see a health care vote on final passage prior to election day. I doubt that will happen, though.)

Senate looks to redefine “public option” to ease passage

To get to 60, Reid may have no choice but to implement one of three other proposals loosely based on the public option.

The first, preferred by Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, would base a public option on a trigger, such as affordability of health insurance.

Another plan, by Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., would provide federal seed money to states to create their own public health insurance options, if they chose to do so.

And a third idea, by Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., would give states the power to bargain with insurance companies on behalf of low-income residents.

Cantwell’s idea is included in a health care reform bill that is expected to pass the Senate Finance Committee this week.

(I wrote yesterday that I’d prefer to see a trigger for coops instead of a trigger for a public “option.” Hopefully Repubs will be included in writing the legislative language of the “trigger.”)

  297. rosettasister Says:

VAN SUSTEREN: Is — are you talking about a public option lite or are you talking about a trigger mechanism that if — that it may later get triggered?

WEISMAN: Could be a trigger, but it could also be this idea that Senator Tom Carper from Delaware was talking about, which is to allow states — not mandate but allow states to put a public option in their own — these health care exchanges.

And they could band together regionally.

For instance, if the Dakotas and Montana wanted to have a Plains public option for their three states, they could do that.

    They’d have the option.

It would be legal. But they wouldn’t be mandated to it.

That’s what I would call public option lite.

  299. rosettasister Says:

Sheriff Arpaio may lose some immigrant authority

    A promise from the sheriff

A Republic analysis of arrest records from 10 of the sheriff’s crime-suppression operations showed that more than half the illegal immigrants arrested during the sweeps were held on federal immigration violations and hadn’t committed another crime.

During a crime-suppression operation in Chandler this summer, ICE agents told sheriff’s deputies that they could not arrest suspected illegal immigrants who met that criteria and instead had to free them after giving them a “notice to appear” at ICE for processing.

If that situation repeats itself, Arpaio promised he will try to keep tabs on those suspected illegal immigrants.

“I may have to let them back on the streets, but I’m going to get their name, rank and serial number, and I’m going to monitor them,” he said.

However, Arpaio said on a radio show that he intends to do street enforcement:

“I don’t need the feds to do my crime suppression to opt to arrest illegals.

I can do it without the federal authority, and I’m going to continue to do it.

It makes no difference. It helps us.

Because I don’t have to do all the paperwork for the feds, number one.

And number two, I won’t be under their umbrella, their guidance.

So I will operate the same way, nothing is going to change… Nothing changes,” crowed Joe at one point, adding, “because pursuant to our duties in these crime suppression [sweeps] we arrest anybody that violates the law.

If we find during the arrests that that there are illegals, we arrest them.

Now the only difference [is] we’re going to take ’em down to ICE. I hope they accept them, if they don’t, I’ll bring ’em myself to the border.

So nothing really has changed. This is all politics.

They want to use me to get rid of this 287 agreement across the country…

I will do another crime suppression very soon to show Washington and everybody else I’m not changing,

I will not be intimidated by Congress, by alleged racial profiling investigations by the Justice Department, by all these demonstrators, these politicians, all trying to keep me from doing my job, so nothing will change.

    Stay tuned.”

  300. rosettasister Says:

Lou Dobbs on Bertha Lewis’s character assassination of Sheriff Joe:

    DOBBS: Ok.

And the point that I’m making with Janet Napolitano as governor calling for emergency action in that state goes to your call to get rid of 287-G, because she, as governor of Arizona herself was saying that there is a national emergency here, that we’re not enforcing immigration law at the federal level. We’re not securing our border and that it is left to local law enforcement and I’m talking about from Texas to California. And when you call for the elimination of 287-G, that puts a cant, if you will, a bias in your very advocacy because you are opposed to 287-G no matter whether it would be properly administered or whether it were true that as you alleged that it’s racial profiling.

LEWIS: It’s not being properly administered. There is no oversight. We believe that this experiment needs to end. We believe that Janet Napolitano and the Obama administration need to come up with a comprehensive way to deal with this.

Arpaio and the way that he is going about doing this is not right and that’s what we’re here to talk about. That’s what the focus is, and he blames immigrants of any color and any stripe. It’s racial profiling.

It’s not good, and Lou, on your show, right here, this man said, “Oh, I don’t mind if people call me KKK.” That’s offensive. He should have resigned right then and there. We don’t need a public servant saying that he’s proud to be part of the Ku Klux Klan. Come on. He’s racially profiling.

DOBBS: That’s not it. Bertha, you know better than what you’re saying and you should say you’re sorry to God, okay.

LEWIS: No. You can play the film, he did it right here on your show.

DOBBS: By the way I remember what he said and he was responding to accusations that he was KKK.

LEWIS: And he said I was proud to be called that. Yes.

SHARPTON: Whether he said it or not…

DOBBS: Are you sorry you said that.

    LEWIS: No.

DOBBS: You really should be. I really am embarrassed for you because that is a gross distortion of what the man said and what he meant. And you know it. (CROSS TALK)

We’re going thru the same thing now with my aunt. They’re keeping her in the hospital an extra day to satisfy the 3-day medicare requirement so she can go to the nursing home (and have medicare pay) for some rehab. What a waste to pay all of these extra days. It happens all of the time and the hospital staff does this on a regular basis to ensure that medicare will pay for the nursing/rehab care.

“The Senate Finance Committee wrapped up work Friday on a reform bill, but committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) promised his members that before voting they would have a ‘reasonable’ amount of time to review the bill’s price tag, as assessed by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.

That report, committee aides said Monday, will arrive later than expected.

The panel’s vote is expected to be close, and passage could hinge on a handful of senators who have indicated that the CBO’s report may sway them.”

(To the best of my knowledge, the CBO is scoring the “summary” or “conceptual” language and not the actual legislative language, not yet anyway.)

One of those senators is Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine.

Roll Call reports that Reid and the Obama administration “really, really, really want her vote when the bill comes to the Senate floor.

Reid has called her proposal to create a trigger for the public insurance option ‘a doggone good idea,’ and the White House has made no secret of its interest in exploring that plan if it assures Snowe’s vote.

Under the proposal, a public insurance option would be created only if private insurers could not lower costs and increase coverage on their own”

(While it may be important symbolically to have Snowe’s support, I’m guessing a public “option” trigger or a coop trigger could get the required 60 votes without her. Don’t the Dems have 60 senators?)
