Astrape

Detail of figure Astrape (Lightning Bolt). Astrape stands beside the throne of Zeus, bearing his thunderbolt in her hand. She is depicted as Astraia (constellation Virgo), the goddess of justice, with the usual attributes of a star-god: wings, flaming torch and shining aureole.

Hi Gang, I’m here too, but way up near the top. ( of the last thread, that is) I’ll be reading and watching the vids for a bit and then working on more poster slogans. Tomorrow, I’ll be partying like it’s 1773, baby!

Just wanted to scroll down to letcha know that I’m here, getting my life enriched w/ knowledge and fellowship at Rose’s. And to say that I’ll never forget 9/11/2001 either.

People were so different right after that. Everyone was more courteous and polite. There was more altruism everywhere. When I looked into a strangers eyes, there was a connection. A surreal, unspoken knowing — that the miles didn’t matter — that from sea to shining sea, we all shared an indescribable, faint, lingering astonishment — the pain of a still tender hidden wound…. and mixed in with that silent grief, …. I saw love there too.

In those glances, we realized we have a bond. An American bond. A family bond. None of our differences matter. The only thing that mattered now was that someone hurt Our family!

Did anyone else feel it? Was it imaginary? I’d really like to know.

I hope sliderblaze pops in this eve.

    God Bless Ya’s

Hmmm ..Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation Of DC Tea Party Planners (The Evening Before The Big 9/12 Event)

    by DefendUSx September 11, 2009 17:55

On the eve of what organizers call a ‘Big Ol’ TEA Party’, the Washington, D.C., offices of FreedomWorks were evacuated by DC Metro police on Friday afternoon after the conservative organization reported to authorities at 3:42 pm ET that it had received a bomb threat.

At 4:48 pm ET, the organization put out a Twitter message saying that it turned out to be a false alarm but the organization is not happy about the disruption.

Tens of thousands of anti-big government activists are expected in Washington on Saturday as part of a “March on Washington” being organized by FreedomWorks, a conservative group headed by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, R-Texas.

A FreedomWorks staffer told ABC News that the organization’s offices at 601 Pennsylvania Avenue were evacuated on Friday afternoon by DC Metro Police because of a bomb scare.

DC Metro police has confirmed to ABC News’ Jason Ryan that the DC Metro police had, indeed, evacuated the organization’s offices after being told by the organization that it had received a bomb threat.

The threat came when a man called the FreedomWorks main line and told the organization’s female receptionist: “I put a bomb in your building, bitch.”

The FreedomWorks staffer who spoke with ABC News said that the organization has received multiple threats but that for some reason, the DC Metro police thought that this one was credible enough to evacuate the building.

The FreedomWorks staffer did not fear for his safety but worried that it was an effort to disrupt the organization’s ability to round up activists in advance of tomorrow’s “March on Washington” which is expected to bring tens of thousands of activists to the nation’s capital.

The FreedomWorks staffers says that 50 volunteers were forced to leave the office where they were making calls encouraging people to come to tomorrow’s event.

    Hermaphrodites in the White House

Now that news has broken that Semenya, a South African female runner is a hermaphrodite and she has done the honorable thing in withdrawing from competition, perhaps it is time the mansexuals came out of the White House closet.

First though, I suppose in this profane age some points need to be made along with definitions for the virginal among us who still thing smoking cigars means smoking cigars and that flossing bed with a manfriend name Reggie Love, means flossing in bed.

First, hermaphroite needs to be defined in this is a person who has both male and female gender. In the case of Semenya, this male female in watching her run was like watching a greyhound blow by turtles on the track.
I noticed this mostly because the little blonde gal she blew by like a rocket is a little blonde who was the hottest looking runner I ever saw in my life. The difference between the blonde woman and Semenya was the difference between Sarah Palin and Muchelle Obama.

As I can not resist at this point, perhaps the red flags should have gone up on the Olympic trials as when East German women shaved and had testicles that a African “woman” named SEMEN YA! might have a little more man thangs to cheer about than woman things.

I digress, but am back on track.

Mansexual as created here is defined as a hermaphrodite who has chosen to be a monkey in his pants hanuman convert exhibiting both male and female traits.

Bearick Obama playing with his derrick and exhibiting manboobs, while flossing with Reggie Love and cuddling with Brian Williams and doing a shower scene with Charlie Gibson (Charlie retired…….Obama didn’t get him pregnant did he? You do the interview math.)

Muchelle Obama with her “pantie package” which looks bigger than the Obama package which Lawrence Sinclair described dangling from Obama.

    Chris Matthews leg tingling.

Peggy Noonan having pneumonia of the pussy.

    Ann Coulter having boyish charm.

Mansexuals by choice just like gay by choice. Quite the difference than being Semenya born that way in kitty pocket pool.

Now where was I going with this?

Oh yeah, thank you Holy Spirit for getting me on track as I pondered the changing size of Ann Coulters bossoms which always puzzles me on women as Stephie Herseth Sandlin’s boobs in South Dakota get huge from wearing pink sweaters before elections.

I digress for real this time.

In hermaphrodite case, the point is, why is it this Semenya has the characer after finding medical evidence she is both parts of two different wholes actually does the right thing and withdraws from competition, while a fellow mansexual African in Barack Hussein Obama, upon finding evidence he is not American, keeps running in races blowing by Sarah Palin……….well like he is only interested in women with male organs or males with male organs?

I actually find great character in Semenya for doing what is right at this juncture and not hiring lawyers to sue to change the system to let East Germans women in with jock straps.
This is one South African who is acting like a lady and or gentleman and it is quite refreshing. I hope the best for Semenya and I hope that her character rubs off on Citizen Kenya as America certainly could use an African in the White House who actually was upholding the rules and the United States Constitution.

Hermaphrodites in the White House……..quite boring really compared to George W. Bush the Christian and his librarian wife, Laura.

I suppose in Obama’s defense he can always say at impeachment, She made me do it.

Texas Gov. Deploys Rangers To Mexican Border
    ViewDiscussion.Last Updated: Fri, 09/11/2009 – 3:57pm
Outraged that the federal government continues ignoring the escalating violence along the Mexican border, the governor of Texas is sending special teams of rangers to deal with the crisis that has terrorized residents along the 1,245-mile stretch that affects his state.

Amid the unprecedented violence of heavily armed Mexican drug cartels and human smugglers, Texas Governor Rick Perry has repeatedly asked the Department of Homeland Security to deploy much-needed National Guard troops to confront the problem. However, the feds keep blowing Perry off even though the crisis has been well documented.

Mexican drug trafficking organizations have for years represented the greatest crime threat to the United States, according to a report published by the Justice Department’s National Drug Intelligence Center, which has determined that the influence of Mexican drug trafficking organizations is unrivaled in the U.S. and that the vast majority of cocaine is smuggled into the country through the southern border.

Earlier this year U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported an increase of 64% in drug seizures along the southern border during the first three quarters of this year compared to the same period in 2008. The agency seized an unprecedented 3.3 million pounds of drugs during the period, including 2.6 million pounds of marijuana, 60,411 pounds of cocaine, 4,384 pounds of methamphetamines and 1,446 pounds of heroin.

A separate U.S. government intelligence report revealed that the same Mexican drug cartels that violently smuggle their goods through the United States’ porous southern border are buying arms from radical Islamic terrorists and teaming up with them to distribute narcotics in Europe and the Middle East.

Affected border states like Texas are tired of waiting for the feds to take action so Perry is sending in officers from an elite investigative unit of the state’s Department of Public Safety known as the Texas Rangers. They will focus on remote areas where farmers and ranchers have complained of being overrun by Mexican gangs and smugglers.

The operation will cost the state $110 million but ignoring the problem will put Texas and the nation at risk from international terrorists, organized crime cartels and transnational gangs, the governor says. Until the federal government fulfills its responsibility of securing the U.S. border, Perry will fill in the gaps by putting more boots on the ground.

ACORN Watch: The Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office warped priorities

    By Michelle Malkin

    • September 11, 2009 11:10 PM The Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office issued a statement tonight indicating that it may prosecute the Big Government undercover team that conducted one of its ACORN/prostitution stings in B’more.

    Yes, really.

The young reporters could face up to five years in jail for violating Maryland’s wiretap laws.

Reader John Muraro notes that the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office was responsible for handling the Zachary Sowers murder case, which I blogged about last year. He was pummeled into a coma by a gang of teenage thugs and later died of his massive injuries. Three of the four remorseless attackers were allowed to plea bargain down to eight years each in jail.

John sums up the warped priorities:

    So:

    · undercover investigation by the conservative reporter = reporters may serve 5 years in jail

    · the animalistic beating of a young man by 4 thugs, resulting in 9 months of suffering and his death = plea bargained to 8 years in jail

That’s a rather peculiar sense of justice.
    Yes, yes it is.

Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia Jessamy can be reached at mail@stattorney.org or (410) 396-4001.

Allahpundit looks at the statute the ACORN-protecting officials in Maryland want to use and notes:

You’ll find exception after exception provided for law enforcement to shield them from liability when they tape criminals surreptitiously to serve the public interest. Kind of like how O’Keefe did here.

Call-It-Like-It-Is Rep Wilson Raises $750,000 In Two Days
September 11th, 2009 Posted By Erik Wong.

    Washington Post:

With a political arms race in full force, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) has raised almost $750,000 in less than 48 hours since his shout of “You lie!” to President Obama during the Wednesday address to Congress, almost matching the Internet-fueled haul of his likely Democratic opponent.

A senior GOP official said Wilson, who apologized to White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel after the health-care speech but has since refused a more public apology, has turned his own previous sleepy campaign machine into an Web-friendly effort. Just as liberals have poured cash into the campaign of Rob Miller, who lost to Wilson by almost eight percentage points in 2008, conservatives are pouring contributions into Wilson’s campaign at an astonishing rate.

Miller, a former Iraq war veteran, has raised more than $1 million for his 2010 rematch with Wilson, according to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Republicans expect Wilson to also top more than $1 million by Monday because of the immense publicity he’s received in the last 48 hours. In the relatively inexpensive South Carolina district, which takes in the southern portion of the state, the two opponents will likely have their two-year budgets filled in less than a week, strategists say.

To put this fund-raising haul in perspective, Wilson, by early next week, could equal the total amount of money he raised in the entire two-year-election cycle of 2008, when he raised a little more than $1.1 million.

Miller, by contrast, raised just $390,000 in donations for the entire 2008 cycle and lent himself another $235,000 of his own money, according to records filed with the Federal Election Commission. So he’s already doubled, in just two days, his total donations over a two-year period.

The controversy will definitely go on through the weekend, as Wilson — a quiet backbench lawmaker who’s never been in the national spotlight — is scheduled to appear on the Sunday morning news show “Fox News Sunday.” If he continues to refuse to make a public apology on the House floor, Democrats plan to offer a resolution admonishing his comments to Obama.

After liberal Internet activists turned Miller into a cause celebre in their effort to extract revenge on Wilson, conservatives joined the fray. Wilson, who hired GOP web strategist David All, now has ads running on conservative-leaning web sites such as the Drudge Report.

Received this in an email this am. I want everyone to know that I am so proud to be a small part of this “gang.” I pray for everyone’s safety today.
This email struck a cord with me and this is the reason why we are all joined in one effort.

Read this excerpt from a Romanian Newspaper. The article was written by Mr. Cornel Nistorescu and published under the title ‘C’ntarea Americii, meaning ‘Ode To America ‘) in the Romanian newspaper Evenimentulzilei ‘The Daily Event’ or ‘News of the Day’.

    ~An Ode to America ~

Why are Americans so united? They would not resemble one another even if you painted them all one color! They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations and religious beliefs.

On 9/ll, the American tragedy turned three hundred million people into a hand put on the heart. Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the Army, or the Secret Service that they are only a bunch of losers. Nobody rushed to empty their bank accounts. Nobody rushed out onto the streets nearby to gape about.

Instead the Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand.

After the first moments of panic, they raised their flag over the smoking ruins, putting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colors of the national flag. They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in every place and on every car a government official or the president was passing. On every occasion, they started singing: ‘God Bless America !’

I watched the live broadcast and rerun after rerun for hours listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who gave his life fighting with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that could have killed other hundreds or thousands of people.

How on earth were they able to respond united as one human being? Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes. And with every phone call, millions and millions of dollars were put into collection aimed at rewarding not a man or a family, but a spirit, which no money can buy. What on earth can unite the Americans in such way? Their land? Their history? Their economic Power? Money? I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases with the risk of sounding commonplace, I thought things over, I reached but only one conclusion… ONLY FREEDOM CAN WORK SUCH MIRACLES.

The line of protesters stretches several blocks, as people chant “enough, enough” and “We the People.”

Others are waving U.S. flags and holding signs reading “Go Green Recycle Congress,” “I’m Not Your ATM” and “Obamacare makes me sick.”

Some men are dressed in colonial costumes with tri-colored hats.

Protesters plan to march later to the U.S. Capitol.

FreedomWorks Foundation, a conservative organization led by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, organized several groups from across the country for what they’re calling a “March on Washington.”

    Hey Rose,

    Thanks — that was good!

I think the racism banter is the lamest.

I know some racist personally through places I’ve worked and were exposed to at my husband’s job, too. They are flatly open about it. The only reason they’ll ever need not to vote for/support BO is his skin color.

And if that were true for the rest of us, why in the world would we ever bother to educate ourselves beyond his skin and dig deep into his words, his heart, his mind or his policies? Why would we have all this other knowledge on him inside our minds?

The entire reason that I know about him is because he was under consideration to get my vote and I wanted to know more about him before I chose who would get my vote.

The race issue continually being touted is such an illogical excuse of a response in support of BO. It has an uncomplicated answer that just must be to simple for those educated idiots to grasp.

If I have to compromise my values and trample the Constitution along with them in order to fit in with this Neo Borg-like pseudo correctness, then I might as well have remained in that cozy state of ingorance that we call “the silent majority”.

Instead, I’ll state that I think it’s obvious who the bigoted ones are.

In addition, the audio portion could possibly have been obtained in violation of Maryland Law, Annotated Code of Maryland Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article §10-402, which requires two party consent.
If it is determined that the audio portion now being heard on YouTube was illegally obtained, it is also illegal under Maryland Law to willfully use or willfully disclose the content of said audio. Video: False Flag attack within 36 hrs.?
    by DefendUSx September 12, 2009 14:45
    From Blogsphere:

There has been indication around blogsphere in the last 12 hrs. that a False Flag Attack (FFA) may occur sometime this weekend in the Midwest.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with what the term “False Flag Attack” refers to, it is simply means (or could mean) an attack planned and carried out (or let happen) by those in the higest offices of our government for the purpose of causing chaos and creating a need for a “solution”.

Often times, chaos necessitates the need for control and the implementation of new policies to infringe on personal liberties. In effect, your freedom is traded under the guise of security.

Here is another Ominous warning from the “solidier”. Draw your own conlcusions. You have a right to your opinion, whatever that may be. The government should not give your opinion through the media, and this is why reporting on such things is necessary, as it could be nothing at all, or could be something. In any case, reporting and knowledge should be about getting to the bottom of things and protecting freedoms provided by the constitution.

(Associated Content) Saturday, September 12th, a crowd estimated from 450,000 people to 1.2 million people marched on Washington to protest government tax and spending policies. The Tax Payers’ March on Washington was the culmination of the tea party movement.

The 450,000 person figure was an estimate from Freedom Works, one of the sponsors of the protest march. The 1.2 million person figure is reportedly an estimate from the Capitol Police.

Anti-Government Protests Draws Tens of Thousands to D.C.

By Emma Brown, James Hohmann and Joel Achenbach
    Washington Post Staff Writers
    Saturday, September 12, 2009 5:11 PM

Tens of thousands of conservative protesters crowded outside the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, a massive demonstration aimed at stopping what organizers called the over-expansion of the federal government under the Obama administration.

“Hell hath no fury like a taxpayer ignored,” declared Andrew Moylan, head of government affairs for the National Taxpayer Union, urging protesters to call their representatives. “You’re being ignored today by the media and some politicians.”

The crowd — loud, rambunctious and sprawling — gathered at the foot of the Capitol after a march along Pennsyvania Avenue from Freedom Plaza. Invocations of God and former President Reagan by an array of speakers drew loud cheers, echoing across the Mall. On a windy, overcast afternoon, hundreds of yellow “Don’t Tread on Me” flags flapped in the breeze, mingled with U.S. and Texas state flags.

“We own the dome,” the crowd chanted loudly, pointing at the Capitol.

About 30,000 people registered online for the march, according to one of the rally’s sponsors, FreedomWorks, a Washington-based group headed by former House majority leader Dick Armey (R-Tex.). FreedomWorks and other sponsors, including Tea Party Patriots and ResistNet, comprise a loose coalition of conservative groups that helped organize several health-care and anti-tax rallies during the spring and summer.

The crowd surrounded the Capitol Reflecting Pool, spilling across Third Street and onto the Mall. The sound system was inadequate to the throng; speakers on stage, at the Capitol’s West Front, were too distant to be intelligible to anyone near the edges of the rally.

“You will not spend the money of our children and our grandchildren to feed an overstuffed government,” Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) said of the Obama administration, drawing loud cheers from the throng.

“Our history is decorated by those who endured the burden of defending freedom,” Price said. “Now a new generation of patriots has emerged. You are those patriots.”

The protesters descended on Washington with a long list of grievances against a government that many complained is racing toward socialism. “Health care is not listed anywhere in the Constitution,” said Brian Burnell, 45, who owns an insurance company on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

“How Is That Hopey Changey Thing Workin’ Out For Ya?” his placard read.

“You want socialism?” said Susan Clark, a District resident marching with a bullhorn. “Go to Russa!”

Participants in the demonstration spanned the spectrum of conservative anger at Obama, including opponents of his tax, spending and health-care plans and protesters who question Obama’s U.S. citizenship and liken his administration to the Nazi regime. By 11 a.m., the route between Freedom Plaza and the Capitol was a sea of demonstrators chanting “USA!” and carrying signs such as, “Taxed enough already,” “The audacity of dope” and, “Czars belong in Russia.”

Most signs were handmade: “Socialism is UnAmerican,” “King George Didn’t Listen Either!” “Terrorists Won’t Destroy America, Congress Will!” “The American Dream R.I.P.”

Many protesters carried the now-familiar poster of Obama made up to look like the Joker, captioned “Socialism.” One man’s sign read, “Having government manage your health care is like having Michael Vick watch your dog.”

Another sentiment: “Cash for Clunkers! Trade in your congressman!”

“We’re all endangered!” shouted a passerby, Dave Rue, 67, a retired Mobil Oil employee who had traveled from New Jersey. “We’re endangered because they’re pushing socialism on us.”

Some came to protest what they see as government interference with gun ownership. Shaun Bryant, 40, a leadership trainer, was among eight people who flew in from Salt Lake City. They fashioned a sign with a drawing of an AR-15 assault rifle and the words “We came unarmed from Montana and Utah . . . this time!”

At the Federal Triangle Metro stop, demonstrators emerged from packed trains and broke into a rendition of “God Bless America” as they rode escalators to the street.

“Nobody’s standing up for us, so we have to stand up for ourselves,” said Phil Chancey, 66, who drove to the District from Clinton, Tenn., for the rally. The sign he carried, deriding the president’s health-care reform plan, read, “Obamacare Makes Me Sick.”

Debbie Wilson, 51, of Apollo Beach, Fla., flew to Washington last Sunday to make a week out of the protest. She drove to colonial Williamsburg in a rented car.

“We want our country to go back to the roots of doing what our Founding Fathers wanted us to do — less government in every aspect of my life,” she said. “We walked the streets of Williamsburg, and it felt like we were learning how to be a patriot.”

Dozens of signs mentioned Rep. Joe Wilson, (R-S.C.), who jeered at Obama during his health-care speech to Congress on Wednesday night. Dee Meredith, 62 of Callao, Va., said she had never heard of Wilson before he shouted at the president, “You lie!” At the rally, Meredith waved a placard: “Thank You Joe Wilson.”

“We’re the forgotten people, and he’s given us a voice,” she said.

When Armey, in his address to the crowd, referred to Obama having pledged to uphold the Constitution, the protesters shouted at the president in absentia: “Liar! Liar!”

Jeff Mapps, 29, a stagehand and labor union member from South Philadelphia, left home about 6 a.m. to come to the protest. He said he hadn’t been involved in previous Tea Party demonstrations, but he watches Fox News host Glenn Beck “all the time” and he wanted to be a part of something he thinks will be historic. Beck has been drumming up support for the march.

Holding a sign that said “Preserve, Protect, Defend” on a Red Line Metro train packed with conservative activists, Mapps fretted over a “blatant disregard for the Constitution.”

“We’ve been watching it for six to eight months,” he said. “It was finally an opportunity to get involved. It’s been boiling over . . . It’s not just about health care. It’s about so much more than that.”

Anna Hayes, 58, a nurse from Fairfax County, stood on the Mall in 1981 for Reagan’s inauguration. “The same people were celebrating freedom,” she said. “The president was fighting for the people then. I remember those years very well and fondly.”

Saying she was worried about “Obamacare,” Hayes said: “This is the first rally I’ve been to that demonstrates against something, the first in my life. I just couldn’t stay home anymore.”

Like countless others at the rally, Joan Wright, 78, of Ocean Pines, Md., sounded angry. “I’m not taking this crap anymore,” said Wright, who came by bus to Washington with 150 like-minded residents of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. “I don’t like the health-care [plan]. I don’t like the czars. And I don’t like the elitists telling us what we should do or eat.”

Pro-Life Congressmen And Planned Parenthood Agree: Health Care Bill Funds Abortion
September 12th, 2009 Posted By Erik Wong.

    CNSNews.com

In his address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday night, President Barack Obama said the health care plan he is pushing will not provide federal money for abortions. But pro-life congressmen and Planned Parenthood agree that abortion would be covered under the plan under an amendment sponsored by Rep. Lois Capps (D.-Calif.).

“One more misunderstanding I want to clear up,” Obama said Wednesday night. “Under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions.”

Pro-life members of Congress and Stop the Abortion Mandate, a coalition of pro-life groups, responded to Obama’s remarks at a press conference Thursday on Capitol Hill.

Rep. Joseph Pitts (R-Pa..) co-sponsored an amendment with Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) that would prohibited federal funding of abortion in the health care plan, but it was voted down by the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Pitts said the bill will use taxpayer dollars to fund abortions.

He also said an amendment sponsored by Rep. Lois Capps (D-Calif.) that was approved by the committee will actually mandate federal payment for elective abortions.

“There has been some recent confusion surrounding the inclusion of abortion coverage in HR 3200, but the issue is really quite clear,” Pitts said at the press conference. “The Capps Amendment, which some have argued is neutral on abortion, explicitly authorizes the federal government to directly fund elective abortions using federal funds drawn on a federal treasury account.

“Some have argued that HR 3200 will maintain the status quo on the issue of abortion,” Pitts said. “Let me be clear. This bill, in all of its forms, will radically expand federal policy with respect to abortion.”

“This legislation will not only expand the government funding, it will also provide additional venues,” Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J., above) said at the press conference. “The language is very clear about having a private insurance provider–government subsidized through these affordability credits–that will provide abortions.”

Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Campaign, said that any money collected by the government are federal funds, including those that would be collected for government health care plans.

“The reality is that the Obama-backed House bill would explicitly authorize the federal government insurance plan to pay for elective abortions and would explicitly authorize subsidies for private abortion insurance–and all with federal dollars, which are the only kind of dollars the federal government can spend,” Johnson said.

Johnson’s organization recently issued a memorandum on abortion and health care reform, including describing what it calls the “Hyde Amendment Myth.” The Henry Amendment prohibits the use of federal funds to pay for abortions through Medicaid, except in cases of rape, incest or a threat to the life of the mothers. But the Hyde Amendment does not apply to the health-care bill.

“In reality, the Hyde Amendment is not a government-wide law–it applies only to funds appropriated through the annual appropriations bill that funds the Department of Health and Human Services,” says the memorandum.

Pro-life advocates aren’t alone in their conclusion that the House bill will allow federally funded abortions.

The non-partisan Web site, Factcheck.org agreed in its own analysis of the bill.

“Despite what Obama said, the House bill would allow abortions to be covered by a federal plan and by federally subsidized private plans,” the analysis said.

Planned Parenthood, which was assured by Obama during his presidential campaign that his health plan “will provide essential services, including reproductive services,” has expressed its support for the House bill.

In a Sept. 3 article on the “Daily Kos” Web site, Planned Parenthood Vice President Laurie Rubiner explained that the Capps amendment mandates that at least one insurance plan offering services to federally subsidized insurance purchasers must cover abortion. Rubiner described this as a compromise with what she called “anti-choice” groups. But the fact of the matter is that the amendment—even as described by Rubiner—mandates that people buying health insurance with federal dollars be able to buy abortion coverage.

“In late August, Rep. Lois Capps (D-CA) offered an amendment as a straightforward response to concerns raised by anti-choice groups. While no other medical procedure is singled out for exclusion in any of the bills, in order to move reform forward, anti-choice organizations needed an assurance that the medical commission cannot guarantee abortion coverage in every Exchange plan,” wrote Rubiner. “That’s why we did not oppose the Capps amendment that provides them with that assurance. It explicitly states that abortion will neither be mandated nor prohibited. It also mandates that every region will have at least one insurance plan that offers abortion coverage and one that does not, so people have a choice.”

Pitts said he plans to ask the House Rules Committee to allow him to re-introduce the Stupak-Pitts amendment on the House floor when the bill comes up there. The amendment would essentially apply the provisions of the Hyde Amendment to the health-care bill.

“All of the bills that have passed out of committee have failed to address abortion funding concerns,” Pitts said. “And if a bill is brought before the House that expands public funding for abortion, Bart and I will offer an amendment to the Rules Committee to maintain the current policy of prohibiting public funds flowing to abortion or plans that cover abortion.

“This is not about the legality or the illegality of abortion,” Pitts said. “It is about keeping the government out of the business of promoting abortion as health care.”

“Killing human babies by abortion is not health care,” Smith said. “Publicly funding and facilitating abortion can in no way be construed as health care reform.”

    Hey Gang,

I’m never seen all these documents before:

I may have seen some, but not all.

The divorce decree says 1 child is a minor another child is not.

Then in a doc farther down, Stanley claims oldest child is at university and minor lives w/ her.

Then she says both she and the child are US citizens and father Lolo, is a citizen of Indonesia.

Is the child she’s referring Maya? I think that’s a safe call, eh? Maya was born in Jakarta ….is she saying Maya is a US citizen? Not duel? I’m struggling here. I thought she was a citizen of Indonesia. Maybe I’ve forgotten. I know it’s been stated that she has a Hawaiian COLB, just like BO, but I’ve not seen it.

    WB everybody!

Because my son wants to opt his kids out of the BO school project, he has a meeting w/ the principal and teacher Tuesday.

I’m still putting some things together for him. I’m thinking I might copy some of these for them to ponder…..

    http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/bresciani/090906

Laura Ingraham of Fox News said she had her daughter well prepped to answer or respond to the address if she needed to but you can believe she is not alone. Not all the children of conservative families will be kept home. What might the essays of these children look like and what of the questions they may raise?

If questions are lobbed back at the President’s questions what might they ask? Some of those questions could be as follows.

Mr. President, why are you so willing to let unborn children be aborted? If my Mommy gets pregnant will my little brother or sister be aborted too? Would you ask her not to do that?

Mr. President, why have you left so many bills behind for me to pay when I grow up? My parents say that both I and the other kids will owe nine trillion dollars and so far I can only count up to one hundred.

Mr. President, when will you show your birth certificate to people like my mom did so I could go to this nice school? You know the one with my doctor’s name on it and my footprint. If I get a copy of it can I post it on the internet and be President someday like you did or do I have to show it to the people so they can check it first? I would be glad to come to your house and help you look for your birth certificate if you want me to. Don’t forget to look under your bed for it or some place else where you hide things.

Mr. President, why have you or some of your friends called my parents terrorists? Aren’t they the people who blew up those two beautiful buildings in New York? My dad says they are very bad people, do you think my parents are bad like them?

Mr. President, when you went to those other countries over there you said America is not a Christian country. My parents said we are. They said that many of the people who came here first and wrote all our laws and our constitution were Christians who love Jesus. Do you love Jesus too? You seem like a very nice man but who should I believe you or my parents?

Mr. President, you asked me what I would do to help you. I saw a picture of you a long time ago before you got to be President and everyone was saying the pledge of allegiance to the flag except you. If you don’t know the words I could help you to learn them if you want.

Mr. President, someone said that you think we cling real tight to our Bibles. My dad is very strong and I guess he holds his bible really tight but he says it’s more important to get the words out of it and put them in his heart so he can love other people. Do you have those words in your heart?

No these are not real questions from real students but if the President does collect millions of essays from American school children it is not hard to imagine that some of them will read like this. What will come of those answers and the questions they may raise? For now it is enough to say that children are without malice but they have the most finely tuned intuition and vision of all of us. Their answers may be generally innocent but watch out for the honesty that only a child can produce, nothing could be more damaging to the ego. The Bible says it another way.

“In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.” Luke 10:21

There are things that I have seen, but I really don’t want to spread unnecessary alarm…There are people and websites that are real big into this sort of thing….The problem is that it’s like so many other things that just can’t be proven….I will say that there are indicators, but as far as tomorrow goes, I don’t know and neither does anyone else unless they are to be a perpetraitor….I’ve been connecting some dots lately, but just like so many others, I can’t say for certain if it will happen…I will say this though, If it does happen I don’t think it will be a FFO / false flag operation….If it happens it would have definitely come from an outside foreign source….If I was convinced that it will happen, I would lean more towards Sept. 24th as being a possible bad day….I have a reason for coming up with that date.

“An op-ed in The Los Angeles Times states (with some justification) that if Iran does not respond in September to the demands made of it, the world should brace itself for an Israeli attack. However, the author adds (mistakenly) that in the event of an Israeli strike, Obama “will probably learn of the operation from CNN rather than the CIA.”

I’ve been in crowds of 30,000 before – so this had to be many hundreds of thousands but you just could not tell…. the Capitol lawn was packed in all directions, the National Mall was filling up and it spilled over from all those areas. The subway platfoms were packed solid and the trains full.

We were supposed to gather on Freedom Plaza starting at 9 am. March from there to Capitol was supposed begin at 11:00. We were on the subway about 9:30 when someone said the Freedom Plaza was so full they had already started the March.

Everyone we talked to gets it! I was also very glad to see young people and young families all around. Absolutely great people everywhere – in great spirits but determined as hell each and every one. There were many generations here all seeing eye to eye.

Patriots in every sense of the word. By the time it was over, I had laughed, cried, sang, danced, screamed at the top of my lungs and had put this day as, “One of the most memorable days of my life”.

Troy, I really grinned when I saw your comment. I just got done pressing “send” on this letter to my Repulican Senator who just sent me his mamsie pamsie newsletter on helathcare

    ——————

    Dear Senator,
Thank you for your health care newsletter. I just returned from a day up on Capitol Hill with one or two million of my fellow Americans.

The trip was amazing. I was astonished at just how united millions of Americans can be on the role of government in our lives, especially on health care. I am equally astounded at just how out of touch with us, your letter is.

You may want to continue a “proper debate” up there in DC, but Americans have made up our minds. It wasn’t all that hard to figure out. We just brushed up on the Constitution.

If you missed the big rally and are still confused about how we expect to be represented on health care, I would be pleased to respond in more detail.

Either way, we all look forward coming back up for a another visit real soon.

    http://rightwingnuthouse.com/archives/2009/09/13/debate-over-tea-party-protest-numbers-masks-the-real-history-made/

This protest movement encompasses the right in all its contradictions, it’s factions, and its various conceits.

From far right nullification supporters to Rand Objectivists, conservatism in all its glory was on display.

The dominant theme as it appeared to me was “Don’t Tread on Me” – the words emblazoned on the iconic Gaddsen Flag.

This is both a warning and a statement of fact.

The truth is, whether due to agitation by talk radio hosts or the very real belief held by millions that President Obama is going too far, too fast, in his quest to “remake” America, there is a sizable segment of the population who has stood up and said “enough.”

In their struggle to define what it is they don’t like about the direction Obama and the Democrats are taking the country, I believe they mis-identify their concerns as fighting “socialism” or “Communism.”

(What else would you call the public sector taking over what once was exclusively in private hands? Pro limited govt – Anti big govt power grab?)

But at bottom, I believe above all else, that they wish to “conserve” their own vision of what America is and what it should aspire to be.

This vision is no more invalid than that of the presidents’ despite attempts on the left to delegitimize it.

It is Burkean in its roots, and has to do with classic conservative values that have been at the root of conservative thought for as long as the republic has endured.

    (Burkean?)

  235. Troy Says:

You Don’t Have a Constitutional Right to Free Speech
    by Derek Hunter

You’ve undoubtedly heard someone, maybe even yourself, say that you have a Constitutional right to free speech, right? While that seems to make sense, it’s not true, or at least wasn’t before the government got so big that it started intruding into areas of our lives in which it has no business; and it is part of a modern mentality that has the potential to harm our individual liberty.

To understand what I’m talking about, the first thing you have to understand it that the Constitution does NOT grant you rights, it protects the rights you inherently have from government intrusion. The First Amendment in the Bill of Rights is this:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Just look at the part that addresses speech, “Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech…” Nowhere does it say that you are granted the right of freedom of speech, it says you have it, were born with it, and the government cannot do anything about it. But that’s not how it’s viewed or even talked about by politicians these days.

By saying that someone has a Constitutional right for free speech implies that it is granted to you and, therefore, can be taken away at some point by amending the Constitution. While legally this is possibly true, trying to get that amendment passed would have about us much of a chance as getting a safe driver of the year award named after the late Teddy Kennedy. But the mentality that uses and teaches that erodes, even a little, our basic liberties.

While our Founding Fathers agreed that our basic right to free speech was granted by God, you don’t have to be religious to embrace the idea that we were born with it. In fact, avowed leftist atheists are often the ones wrapping themselves falsely in the First Amendment with the claim that the government protects what they have to say. But it’s not exclusive to leftists, people on the right often cite this mythical right granted them.

So what’s the problem with it? Who cares if they know the truth as long as the outcome is the same? It feeds the mentality that is becoming more and more prevalent in society today; that you don’t have natural-born rights, that your rights are granted to you by the government. This leads to people looking to the government to solve more problems and involve itself in more issues than it was ever intended to, or is Constitutionally allowed to.

Once someone feels indebted to the government for the right to speak their mind, it’s not too great a leap to expect food, shelter and even health care from it, too. Good things will flow from the government if you believe good things are already flowing from it. If you do not have a fundamental understanding of where your basic rights come from, and that our government was founded upon those principles, it’s natural that you would look to government for more.

But our government is a limited one, or at least is supposed to be, and was founded to be bound by the Constitution to prevent it from doing most things, not to become most things to anyone.

Even President Franklin Roosevelt understood the limited powers of the federal government when he proposed his “second Bill of Rights,” a list that included health care, by the way. While he didn’t propose amending the Constitution to include these “rights,” the mere fact that he had to propose them is acknowledgment that they did not exist in the Constitution. If they did there would be no reason to propose them, he’d simply have to point them out to a public that had spent more than 150 years missing them in our founding document.

Modern liberals understand this, too, or at least used to. In 2004, Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. proposed amending the Constitution to add a right to health care for all Americans. It when nowhere, but the act of introducing it was passive acknowledgement that it doesn’t exist.

Jackson’s flaw is that of many liberals in this country; not that they want to help people, but that they want to use the power of government to do it. The Constitution expressly limits what the federal government can do. It isn’t a rough outline of somewhat good ideas, or even a framework in which government should attempt to exist unless it is found to be too constraining. It is not a “living document,” it is the shackles placed on what our Founders feared could grow into the type of monster they had just rebelled against.

The Tenth Amendment, often ignored by courts and politicos (what I refer to as the red-headed step-child of the Constitution), plainly states this philosophy:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

If the Constitution does not explicitly give the federal government the power to do something, it doesn’t have it, the states and the people do. The government, as the Constitution stands now, could no more legitimately take away your right to free speech than it could provide you with health insurance or vote to make the sun rise in the west.

So next time you hear someone talk about their “Constitutional right to free speech,” correct them. While it may seem minor, it is a fundamental piece of their liberty they are ceding to a misunderstanding of our country. And once one piece goes, it’s a lot easier for others to follow.

As many as 1.5 million to two million people marched peacefully in Washingon DC yesterday to demand a return to the Constitution, the rule of law and an end to government policies that are imposing an ever greater economic burden on people, a police-state control structure, FEMA camps and forced mass vaccinations.

cynka, yes it was posted previously….The suitcase nuke problem is one that dates well back before 9/11….The fall of USSR led to the mysterious disappearance of quite a few of these weapons….A long time ago I posted video and news of CIA Agent Roland Chalaby who was assainated by Houston Police Dept. here near me….He was reported to have been chasing down a nuke that entered through the Port of Houston….The police were used to perform the hit via an “armed and dangerous APB” issued on him…He was not an enemy and was set up for assasination….The video is unreal….He was shot in the back by the cops and then handcuffed while face down on a Houston highway….He was left that way until he finished bleeding to death and then the cops called for medical attention.

  246. Troy Says:

SERGEANT OF MARINES TIMOTHY JOSEPH HARRINGTON CONTRIBUTES THIS…

This came from a Marine’s wife. It says it all:

I sat, as did millions of other Americans, and watched as the government underwent a peaceful transition of power a few months ago.

At first, I felt a swell of pride and patriotism while Barack Obama took his Oath of office.

However, all that pride quickly vanished as I later watched 21 Marines, in full dress uniform with rifles, fire a 21-gun salute to the President.

It was then that I realized how far America’s Military has deteriorated.

    Every Marine Corps rifleman missed!

Now, on to more serious stuff from Fox.

The report underscores the tough competition that jobless Americans face. With 14.5 million unemployed people in July and only 2.4 million openings, that means there were six unemployed people, on average, for every job opening.

  254. Katie Says:

  255. Katie Says:

I’ve finally thawed out from last night’s event, and I’ll let Tenacity give you his perspective since he spoke on the steps of the Capitol building.

    Here’s mine.

It WAS a small crowd last night – it was a Saturday night, it was pouring rain, and it was ONLY 49 degrees!! And still hundreds came out.
Tenacity was the closing speaker. There were probably 100 – 150 people still there (two couples from my neighborhood came because of my email), and Tenacity held them spellbound. Not a person moved for his 20 min. speech. Most people have never heard of the Continental Congress, and don’t know how important this is. So every time someone gets exposed to the process and the upcoming event, they are filled with a new determination and understanding of what is happening. And support for this IS growing.

The closing of the event was a recording of Martina McBride singing “God Bless America”. Most people had left by then, but the organizer of the event had picked up an American flag and was waving it proudly from the top of the Capitol steps. All by himself. Hubby and I had started to walk over to him to thank him (before the song started) and when he picked up that flag, we stood at the base of the steps and watched him for the entire song. All by ourselves. The American flag and the Colorado state flag were perched on the top of the dome way above our heads against the cloudy sky. I sobbed like a baby. For many reasons. Anger over what is happening and people who are too lazy to get off their couches to protest. Disgust over what the corrupt politicians and media are doing. Fear for what is our future. Encouragement for the progress we’ve made since January. And immense pride and gratitude and love of my country and the citizens who are standing up for America and the Constitution.

I strongly urge everyone to take a look at their site, http://www.cc2009.us/ – donate to the event if you can – and spread the word. (This is being done solely by US citizens and taxpayers, NOT politicians. They need to raise about $2M for the event. Some people are paying their own way, some cannot so they’re trying to help them. ALL are giving their time (several weeks) to be a state delegate.)

It’s going to go down in the history books like watching the Jeffersons and Madisons and Franklins of our time working to restore the Constitution.

To all of you who made it to DC, my heart swells with pride and respect and gratitude. You made history yesterday and no one can hide it!!! Thank you for your part in the story of saving freedom and liberty.

Not many. Not ever close to the 9/12 rally.

  300. Troy Says:

This article from USA Today Jan.20, Obama’s inauguration day, explains how the Park Service estimates crowd size:

Estimating the size of a crowd requires aerial photographs, dimensions of the gathering space, and an estimate of the crowd’s density.

If the National Mall is densely packed from Third Street to the Washington Monument, and if the area from the monument to the Lincoln Memorial has an average density, the space could contain 1.5 million people, Barna said. Average density is one person per 5 square feet. A tightly packed crowd has a density of one person per 2.5 square feet, an area slightly larger than this newspaper.

Clark McPhail, a University of Illinois professor and expert in crowd estimation, said it’s “very important” to provide a number, even if only an estimate. “These are events of historical significance,” he said. “A president ought to be able to know how many people turn out for his inauguration.”

    http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-01-19-crowd_N.htm

Look at ariel photos and do the math.

  301. Tenacity Says:

I just got back from an organizational meeting for CC2009 in Colorado where numerous patriot group’s leadership were invited. We had folks from 9-12 groups, John Berch Society and several others in attendance along with We The People Congress coordinators. It has been a real challenge getting information to all the various groups. The folks that show up are always amazed at what WTPC is doing and has been doing for over 14 years. They always say, “why weren’t we aware of this before now?”

Last night’s Tea Party Constitution Rally was not well organized or orchestrated. The multiple 9-12 groups in the Front Range held 3 different rallies instead of concentrating their efforts. As a result, none of them had the attendance expected. Of course, as Katie reported above, the weather didn’t help. The good news is that the folks that did show up are very dedicated patriots and really wanted to hear that there are some real solutions possible and that we are following a constitutional remedy. The best part about last night for me was being able to walk around and visit with the crowd. There were a lot of attentive ears and people seriously seeking solutions. For the first 2 hours of the rally, the most interesting thing that happened was the singing of the National Anthem. A lovely young lady named Andrea had come all the way from Houston to sing for the event. She was magnificent. So for the first 2 hours of what would have otherwise put me to sleep, I walked through the crowd of 3 to 4 hundred and met people and talked to them. I passed out mail in ballots and tried to educate people about the Continental Congress. Speaking was a hoot and I really appreciated the responsive attitude of the people standing in the cold and rain. Judging from the amount & quality of the people that came up to me afterward, it seems that they most appreciated the message about CC2009. I got in a few digs and was interrupted by numerous cheers and supportive reactions during the speech. All in all, in was a good and productive night. WTPC sold a bunch of raffle tickets, books, DVDs and other stuff as a fund raiser. I believe as a result of the speech, I will be getting more opportunities to speak for other gatherings. I look forward to it.

  302. cynkading Says:

So my point is how many people is it going to take to get Washington’s attention? If the phones are melting from all of constituents calling their reps and people are coming to rallys by the droves so what difference does the numbers mean? People are unhappy………..

  303. Troy Says:

Over and out for the night! Praise God all of Rose’s gang has made it home safely.

  305. Troy Says:

That is outstanding news Terry…Thanks for that update!!

  306. Tenacity Says:

Troy posted an article about constitutional rights above. below is a question that was posed to me by the CC2009 Delegate Nominee Vetting Committee along with my response (bold)

Q: Do you believe it is necessary to restore our government to constitutional adherence to have our rights as defined in it secured?

Take out the words “as defined in it,” and my answer is a resounding YES! However, our rights are not defined in the constitution. Some of our rights are mentioned and secured in the constitution. I want NO constitutional rights and need no constitutional rights because I am under the law of nature and nature’s God. We The People are sovereign which means “we have the final say on the law.” It is the U.S. Government that is subject to the limitations set forth in our U.S. Constitution. In our republic, it was set up as a two (2) law system…citizens under natural law and the government under the constitutional law…a government of law not men.

  307. Tenacity Says:

    Cynkading,
The initial revolution was initiated by about 5% to 7% of the people. If we have 5% of the people willing to withdraw support from this government (support the plan born out of CC2009), then we should have a great impact and be able to force redress of the constitutional grievances. 10% would be very powerful. Anyone suggesting that a majority is needed is spreading nonsense (humbug). People are waking up and I believe we have a real chance of getting 10% of the adult population to take a stand.

  308. Tenacity Says:

Once there are enough people recognizing that depending on the electoral process in NOT the answer and that the Accountability Clause in the Constitution provides for the right of petition, then they will understand that the governments refusal and failure to respond is an admission of guilt. This principal goes all the way back to the Magna Charta and carries the right of the people to enforce redress/remedy upon the usurping elected officials.

Take out the words “as defined in it,” and my answer is a resounding YES!

Cynk:So my point is how many people is it going to take to get Washington’s attention? If the phones are melting from all of constituents calling their reps and people are coming to rallys by the droves so what difference does the numbers mean? People are unhappy………..

They are being lied to. By the likes of Freedomworks, Glenn Beck, Rush, etc. Oh, and we can’t forget our wonderful representatives like DeMint, Boehner, Cantor…who reiterate these lies.

These people that rally, with their signs, are scared of only one thing. Barack Obama’s skin color. There is no rational person who believes Obama is going to turn our country into Russia. There is no rational person who believes we’ll have death panels.

It was Bush who started bailing out banks. It was Bush who started giving money to GM. It was Bush who spent billions of dollars on two wars. It was Bush who didn’t have a way to pay for the Prescription Bill. It was Bush that raised YOUR taxes, not Obama. NONE of your taxes have gone up under Obama. NONE. That is a fact. Here’s another one. The Bush taxes are still in effect until 2011. Bush started a spy program that was illegal.

So, what is their (the protesters) beef? Taxes? No. Big government? No. So, what’s left? Obama wasn’t born here. Yup. Obama is a communist. Yup. Obama is a socialist. Yup. Obama is a marxist. Yup. Obama is like Hitler. Yup. Hmmm, what else. Oh, Obama will indocrtinate our youth. Yup. Forget the fact that both Reagan and Bush 1 both spoke to our youth and even talked about tax cuts.

Where was the outrage when Bush was big government? When Bush took over banks? That’s why these people are not taken seriously. Especially when some call for blood to spill, bring guns to events, compare our President to Hitler, Mao and Stalin, call for a revolution, shout down people at townhalls, berate the disabled, LIE, lie, and lie.

I think it’s great that you think it’s great and they got a respectable crowd. But they aren’t representing the whole of Americans.

Oh my Jay, you couldn’t be more wrong. I was there. Racism was as far from people’s agenda as NY is from CA. What a shame you just don’t get it. It’s never been about skin color except with the Obama crowd bringing it up all the time. I feel sorry for you because you have been so misled. Your country needs you and you won’t be there to save it. I hope someday you see the truth instead of the propaganda. Good luck to you. By the way, there’s always places like Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, North Korea etc. where you can play follow the leader without having to think too much for yourself. They love people who don’t understand what real freedom is all about and never question their policies. I’m sure there will be a state run job just for you and the pay is great. Rationed food and healthcare is available to all. Enjoy. Leave America to the patriots who love her.

But, sheez! That’s a stretch, huh.
I mean, that would be like pharmaceutical companies deliberately spreading the flu, eh? Who’d do such a thing? 😕
