Purple Mountain Majesty
I worked for the Feds in DC for 25 years and I’m soooooo happy I am out of that rat race. (The lady in red was enjoying her retirement party.) I have been with my sweetheart Larry for 19 years (my first husband died at the age of 33 (I was 26 and my son was 3). My son is now 31 (oh my goodness how time flies). I have two step daughters and of course my grandson Ryan. Love to play golf –broke a bone in my foot last August playing golf and then almost broke my neck learning to ride around on this little scooter.
Enjoy feeding the critters (geese, birds, foxes, raccoons, groundhogs, etc). The geese are gone now until October. We had a bumper crop of goslings this year – 44 of them. We live on almost 7 acres on a river in a beautiful area of Virginia and I ride my electric pony every day (a golf cart) to feed the critters.
We have bald eagles and in the fall and winter the river is full of geese and several types of ducks. There are three cats too – Puff (Stuff her litter mate is gone), Snooker and Marmalade.
Love flowers too and working outside (unless its too hot)! This time of year I make at least 8 cups of hummingbird food a day for 2-3 dozen hummers – they’re fun to watch. I enjoy painting (watercolors), writing poetry and have started a number of books – would like to finish at least one of them!
Never been politically active or involved until this past election cycle. In fact I was at a tea party meeting this evening and we are excited about our trip to DC on 9/12. I pray for our country and remain hopeful that we can stop this madness. I have a good sense of humor (which comes in real handy these days). And I really enjoy Rose and the Gang and appreciate all of the great input!
Oh and I am 55 today – August 21st.
Happy Birthday, grammy!
goferit I spent almost 25 years in business being on the back end of a camera. When that industry began to fall apart, I jumped off and have spent the last three years back in school. This time on the other end of an x ray unit. so, as Rose's gang can imagine, I don't want to be back the frying pan with the gov't giving us our healthcare. If it does, I know that this industry will be in a heap of hurt in terms of new jobs. Just finished with school these past two weeks, and go on tuesday to take registry boards, so I can begin to practice. So I post as often as I can, read what your gang has to say everyday, and relish being a part of the great group of patriots who have found their way here! I've been married to a beautiful woman for over twenty years, and have two teenage sons, who besides being teenagers are great kids. Oh, and we also have a cute pooch named Sandy.
