Rose, I appreciate you…. I know you must go through tons of research to post what you do….
I followed one of your links from a couple days ago to a u-tube video, and now it seems I must have an account with them to view…
This past week I wasn’t able to access Google search(…until today.) At WND today, I read that Google has been denying access to their search engine who are not according to them – politically correct)
So, I guess what “we” don’t have is a “google” with all their multi-use programs to back us up. I’ve used other search engines this past week. Though I was able to do a search with Google today when I got out of work, it isn’t “guaranteed”…My husband, on his computer, has had free access to google all week – but he doesn’t do searches on Obama/problems…
I’ve noticed changes with Foxnews online….Bloggers are directed to Foxnation, a new website which isn’t truly updated daily…I just don’t want to lose contact! the federal bill regarding government regulation of the Internet is very concerning to me.
I stopped by your site a couple days ago to remind you all of the Tea Parties, but saw that you already knew…
I, like, jrinNC have been busy(sometimes with 2 full time jobs)but want to thank you for your and other bloggers’ work and links.
I need to remember to be thankful for what we have….free speech, free right to bear arms(hah, even though I don’t own a gun,) and all the rights and freedoms we have in the USA under the Constitution.
I am a Christian, though I currently do not attend church (I work every weekend in a nursing home,) and I am a Patriot…thankful that I knew what it was like to grow up an American! I may have not been so fortunate if I had been born a little later…
I want to encourage you all to just keep it up….don’t lose hope…remember, we may be nearing the end of this world’s time, but we have great promises to claim, and need to keep together while here…
We currently have a president who is not an American…
Thank God, Obama, has woken us up, at least to what we have lost, and what we need to gain back!

Aljazeera Reports That Obama Is Muslim

The Arab press was excited about Barack Obama’s speech in Turkey today.
Aljazeera even called him a Muslim.

The Aljazeera website reported today that Barack Obama is Muslim.
They included this in their report on Obama’s talk to the Turkish Parliament:

Al Jazeera’s Anita McNaught, reporting from Istanbul, said: “This was the address we had all been waiting for, it hit all the right notes.

“He talked about the contribution of the Islamic faith in the life of American Muslims and then he personalised that message by saying ‘I know because I am one of them’. It was a message that reached out to many today.

Actually, Obama did not say that in his talk today.

And, it was later scrubbed from the Aljazeera website.
Here’s a look at the quote before it was scrubbed:

    Team Obama will love that.
    Hat Tip Beto Ochoa

Maybe this explains Obama’s bow to the Saudi King?

Wanted to mention I received my Survival Seed package. It is very well done and everything is sealed to preserve the seeds for a long time. They are guaranteed and will be able to provide harvested seeds that are plantable for years to com. This company also has some other good products to offer along with written material that helps in survival instruction. I am really interested in the solar generators which I didn’t know existed before getting the info here. I have googled info about them and am trying to find out how well they may work. Just one source for seeds, but I was impressed with the quality. Company name again: Solutions From Science. There are many good sites for survival products and I think it is important to research as many as possible before making a purchase. jmo and I have no affiliation with this company other than as a customer. Also, the reviews of this company were very poor, so buyer beware. I was satisfied with my experience, but many were not, although it seemed the dissatisfied people had purchased other products than the seed package. So do some DD before purchasing anything from this company.

    EXCERPT

Looking back, these are small signs that reveal the administration’s desire to seize command of the nation’s financial system. The bigger, unmistakable sign is the reluctance — or is it outright refusal? — to take $340 million from four banks trying to be responsible and operate on their own.

This shouldn’t be happening in this country. The private sector and the state are not to be mixed. The American financial system is best directed by markets, not politics. Prosperity and liberty suffer when the latter excludes the former.

    What’s Behind Geithner’s Threat

    April 06, 2009 02:49 PM ET

    http://www.usnews.com/blogs/capital-commerce/2009/4/6/whats-behind-geithners-threat.html

Read this new analysis of the banking situation by Goldman Sachs. It mentions that banks will need some encouragement to sell the so-called toxic assets.

I think Geithner is giving them some with his threat to replace executives:

“First, it’s unclear whether Treasury and the FDIC will persuade enough investors to participate and enough banks to sell.

On the investor side, note that the Treasury has just extended the application deadline for the securities portion of the program.

(This refers to the securities portion rather than the more important loan portion)

On the banks side, we continue to think that the that the bid prices will still be well below the banks’ current marks, at least for whole loans held to maturity, so banks will need some encouragement to sell.”

    Israel Hunts Nukes in Washington

    http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=31355

Israel’s urgency was explained by Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in the Middle East. Last week, Petraeus told Congress Tehran’s “…obstinacy and obfuscation have forced Iran’s neighbors and the international community to conclude the worst about the regime’s intentions.”

Petraeus cautioned, “The Israeli government may ultimately see itself so threatened by the prospect of an Iranian nuclear weapon that it would take preemptive military action to derail or delay it.”

An attack could be triggered once the Israelis determine that the Iranians are close to acquiring a finished bomb. It’s not clear exactly how anyone will know that time, however.

Israel has the right attack arsenal to destroy the Iranian targets, but mission success is dependent on certain U.S. support. The Israeli Defense Forces have special operations forces, long-range fighters and refuelers, cruise missile armed submarines and ballistic missiles that can range Iran. But they lack air space control, electronic warfare cover, air defense codes, and other support that the U.S. can provide.

Some experts say, however, that the Iranian facility at Natanz is buried so deeply and hardened sufficiently to prevent an Israeli air attack — even with the bunker-buster bombs sold to Israel last year — from succeeding.

Netanyahu will promise Obama the strike can destroy Iran’s atomic facilities. But the prime minister will exclude the possible consequences from his petition because the list is long and sobering.

Iran would immediately retaliate by trying to blockade the Straits of Hormuz through which 40 % of the world’s oil passes. This can be done by sinking tankers in the narrow channel.

Tehran will counterattack Israel and U.S. bases in the Gulf with hundreds of ballistic missiles and unleash its terrorist proxies. In 2004, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, said, “If anyone invades our nation, we will jeopardize their interests around the world.”

The long range implications are potentially more problematic because Iran might redouble its atomic efforts. Israel’s 1981 attack on Iraq’s Osirak reactor served to reinforce that country’s atomic lusts, even though it set Saddam back by at least a decade. After the attack, Saddam Hussein increased his nuclear staffing from 400 to 7,000 personnel and invested 20 times more money in his renewed program.

How serious is Netanyahu about unilaterally striking Iran, and how close is Tehran to acquiring an atomic weapon? Obama’s national security team wants those answers before selecting the administration’s course of action.

The answers are deadly serious and too close.

The upcoming meeting between Netanyahu and Obama is likely to be a watershed event in our Middle East policy and world events.

  30. rosettasister Says:

I am a friend of the nation-state of Israel and certainly no friend of the mullahs in Iran. But I gotta tell you, some of this rhetoric from Netanyahu is scaring the you-know-what out of me.

    ————————————————————–

Netanyahu and Obama: A Controversy, and an Update

    http://jeffreygoldberg.theatlantic.com/archives/2009/04/netanyahu_and_obama_a_controve.php

The first one is from one of Netanyahu’s defense advisers, speaking on background: “We have to make sure our friends in Washington know that we can’t wait forever. There will come a point soon when it will be too late to do anything about this program. We’re going carefully, but if we have to act, we will act, even if America won’t.”

The second is from Netanyahu: “Iran has threatened to annihilate a state or to have a state wiped off the map of the world. In historical terms, this is an astounding thing. It’s a monumental outrage that goes effectively unchallenged in the court of public opinion. Sure, there are perfunctory condemnations, but there’s no j’accuse – there’s no shock and there’s a resigned acceptance that this is acceptable practice. Bad things tend to get worse if they’re not challenged early. Iranian leaders talk about Israel’s destruction or disappearance while simultaneously creating weapons to ensure its disappearance.”

I followed this statement with a question: Is there any chance that Iran could be stopped through non-military means? Netanyahu responded: “Yes I do, but only if the military option is left on the table.”

Based on all these statements, I think it’s fair to say that Netanyahu, when he comes to America, will tell President Obama that should America fail to suppress the Iranian nuclear program, Israel will have to try.

    Polls, Obamanomics and Taxes

    http://www.usnews.com/blogs/capital-commerce/2009/4/7/obamanomics-and-taxes.html

The NYTimes buried this interesting little factoid from their poll on people’s current economic attitudes:

“Mr. Obama’s push to increase income taxes on people making over $250,000 a year was supported by 74 percent of respondents.

When presented with the possibility that taxing those in the higher income bracket might hurt the economy, 39 percent of those polled still backed the plan.”

JP: This is why it is important that people understand the complex linkages between taxes and economic growth.

Framing tax cuts merely as a way of giving consumers more dough to spend is self-defeating in the long run.

  43. rosettasister Says:

    Why Liberals Hate Larry Summers

    http://www.usnews.com/blogs/capital-commerce/2009/4/7/why-liberals-hate-larry-summers.html

These are same folks who have been grumbling for years that Clinton chucked his investment agenda to instead cut the deficit.

They loathed the Bond Market Strategy of Clinton-Rubin-Greenspan.

And they have been grumbling anew that concern about budget deficits is preventing the White House from proposing an even bigger economic stimulus/recovery page.

(Even bigger?! How is that possible?!)

And Summers is a powerful voice for budget deficit sanity, so much so that he would like to kill all the Bush tax cuts ASAP if he had his druthers.

    Stop Apologizing, Obama!

    http://www.usnews.com/blogs/capital-commerce/2009/4/7/stop-apologizing-obama.html

    Does the president know

    a) that leverage at European banks was far higher than at American banks,

    b) that Europe also had a property bubble,

    c) that Europe has terrible long-run financial problems related to its demographics,

    d) that Europe has been able to build a massive (though now unsustainable) welfare state, in part, because it skimped on defense spending thanks to the American defense umbrella.

I think these things are worth pointing out.

    How Many Trillions for TARP?

    http://www.usnews.com/blogs/capital-commerce/2009/4/7/-how-many-trillions-for-tarp.html

The always insightful Peter Davis over at Capital Gains and Games puts TARP in perspective:

“However, the bigger picture is that there are approximately $3.6 trillion of troubled assets on bank balance sheets, a lot more than can be cleaned up with $700 b. of TARP.

… So will Congress put more taxpayer money into TARP when the need arises?

For the next few months, the answer is clearly a resounding NO!

Over the past month, in hearing after hearing, members of both parties in both houses of Congress have railed against the bad deal the taxpayers are getting under TARP.”

JP: And that, of course, is a big reason why Hank Paulson abandoned his plan to buy toxic assets.

He needed a bigger boat and knew Congress would not give him one.

And the entire press corps seems to be in an intimidation hammerlock.

Look how successfully the administration has handled this.

Not only is the birth certificate issue taboo but also we’re not allowed to see Obama’s applications to Columbia and Harvard.

Authored by Dr. Lyle J. Rapacki, Protective Intelligence Specialist and Agent, the report summarizes the substance of legal challenges to Obama on the question of his constitutional eligibility and concludes that if it

“should be discovered Mr. Obama is ineligible, a constitutional crisis would ensue attempting to determine which of his executive branch orders should be valid.”

It goes on to warn that

“if…Mr. Obama fights revealing his documentation, there is growing concern of civil unrest, or worse, being unleashed in the streets of our nation.

The economic crisis coupled with this type of a constitutional crisis could prove to be a flashpoint that would test conventional law enforcement and elements of homeland security.”

I noticed that we haven’t had the sort of traffic as usual here lately. I haven’t been around to post much because I have fallen victim to the auto market and I am in the process of changing careers. Fifteen years in one industry makes it tough to change but I will get a long just fine. 🙂

I will be lurking here and there. Everyone that’s still here, drop a post and say HELLO!!!!

Thanks for all you do Rose!

    Oh man, bummer, bummer!

I will say this, ddlew, a lot of the ladies here have a lot of respect for you.

As far as views versus comments, comments have dwindled lately.

    But, that’s okay.

    But views haven’t so much.

Actually, the last I checked a few moments ago:

665 Views (Gosh, I’m glad it was 665 and not 666!)

That’s just for today so far.

It’s not the 8,000 we used to get, but that’s okay, too.

What’s really important to me is those with whom I’m sharing music.

I wrote a long time ago that I’d much rather be posting musica e poesia.

And if I weren’t so concerned about the direction in which we’re headed, that’s exactly what I’d be doing.

You know there are some who would like to marginalize Glenn Beck for the Blue-Eyed White Man that he surely is.

But he’s making a good point.

This struggle is between those of us who want limited government like our Founders did or those of us who want to follow the European Model.

Our Founders must have been guided by the Creator they were fond of citing, because I really think they got something right which will endure, which should endure.

As long as I’m sharing music with at least one of you, I don’t know who you are, but you do, then I am happy to continue in this role.

ddlew, Good Luck with your job search. Your attitude will make all the difference.

Thanks for the place, Rose! Beck has his heart in the right place. Fo sho. Anyone else watch his show yesterday? I was livid re; the vets murdered dog! Swearing and crying at the same time. I look forward to the day those bastards get their justice served up!

Each day I think things can’t possible get worse when it comes to the Usurper, then I am wrong, again.

I asked, “Where does he find these people”? Then I am reminded that we are all attracted to what “we know”, or are familiar with. It makes total sense. How much of the damage will be irreparable when this sick, twisted, America Hater is finished? I guess it will depend on if he is able to finish his term (ugh, God help US all) or if he is cut off short……….I HOPE for the latter. (obviously)

    The New Stimulus Plan

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White
House. One is from Chicago, another is from Tennessee, and the third
is from Michigan. All three go with a White House official to examine
    the fence.

The Michigan contractor takes out a tape measure and does some
measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. “Well,” he says, “I
figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my
crew and $100 profit for me.”
The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then
says, “I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my
crew and $100 profit for me.”

The Chicago contractor doesn’t measure or figure, but leans over to
the White House official and whispers, “$2,700”.

The official, incredulous, says, “You didn’t even measure like the
other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?”

The Chicago contractor whispers back, “$1000 for me, $1000 for you,
and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence.”
    “Done!” replies the government official.

And that, my friends, is how the new stimulus plan will work.
