    1st!

  2. Katie Says:

    Can I be 2nd, too?

  3. Katie Says:

Yes, Katie – you can be even be 3rd.

  4. Katie Says:

Ok – I can count higher than three, but I’ll stop there.

JAC – in all seriousness, I want to thank you for the suggestion some days ago to include pet supplies in your stock pile. Honestly, I don’t think I would have thought of it.

We’ve got a couple big pups, so just today I had 150 lbs. of food delivered for peace of mind. That ought to last us a couple weeks.

Notice I said they are BIG dogs! 🙂

  5. JAC Says:

    Soul

I have a friend who is a retired nurse… she said they should have it at the local health store….. I’m going to try there first….

Like Ten said,… you might have a little nausea and diarrhea at first or if used more than a maintains dose…… one of the reasons I figured on starting it now….. get the toxins out of my system…get my body used to it.

  6. JAC Says:

    Katie

part of being in skywarn,… we talk about preparing all the times because of storms etc….

  7. JAC Says:

    Katie

    lol …. well I have a shap-pei, a white wolf,….. and 6 Chihuahua’s (2 pups up for adoption) a bird and 3 aquariums…. welcome to my zoo

  8. Katie Says:

JAC – bet you never thought life in America could come to this, huh. I know I didn’t…not in my lifetime.

  9. JAC Says:

So you see my love of animals….
and also why these next words are not easy to say.

You need to be emotionally prepared to leave your pets behind, give them everything you can to fend for themselves…. but self and family has to come first…. many people die in floods, tornados because they will not leave their pets……
    I know,….. it breaks my heart,….. mine are like family…… my kids…

  10. JAC Says:

    I didn’t either Katie,

I worry about my Mother,.. she lives in a very small town known for their hanging on to racial opinoins…
She is between two towns (one an actually small city) that is economic depressed….. the gangs are getting bad…. I worry about her town being a target for revenge tactics…….

  11. patriotamy Says:

I agree JAC. Once, a long time ago, I had a wonderful dog. I was in a situation that was not good, so I packed up my 4 children to take us out of that area (actually out of that state). My ex was staying there. I had to leave the dog (11 yrs old at the time and totally devoted to me and the kids). I can still see her standing in the drive watching me drive away. I had NO room in the car or I would have gone back for her. I was told later that she spent all day, every day, waiting at the end of the driveway for us to come back. She died within 5 weeks. That was over 30 years ago, and I still get teary just thinking about it. But I had no choice at the time.

  12. Troy Says:

Woo Hooo!!!!….I was beginning to wonder about Governor Rick Perry of Texas, but he was just on with Neil Cavuto and he made me proud….He told the Fed Gov to take their Texas stimulous money and shove it!!!!
He said it came with too many strings attached….He also said that Texas has always funded it’s own unemployment program and that Texas leads the nation in job production and has more fortune 500 companies than any other state….Here’s the best part, he said that Texas has achieved all of this in SPITE of the federal government’s interference.

Long live the Lonestar State!!!…..Yeeee Hawwwwwwww

  13. patriotamy Says:

You go TEXAS. Wish all the other states would do the same.

    I was going to put my 2 cents in on the suziehen situation but y’all have pretty much said it all. I do hope that Rose will see fit to BAN this unstable one after her comment to Troy ;

you either will take it between the eyes, or just not out last such a challenging time because you are a hot headed coward, who has to blame others.

THAT was/is reprehensible and anyone who would justify that or defend it in ANY WAY is beyond reason.

Troy, you have been one of my rocks through ALL of this, opened my eyes to such things I did not want to see and was certainly not aware of at one time (oh how I miss those ignorant times, but I digress) and I, for one, want to thank you for that.

Oh and ANOTHER reason why Miss ZenHen should NOT EVER be able to post here again is for twisting Tenacity’s name to include the word ass. Again, not acceptable.
Tenacity, you are another rock to me and that’s a GOOD thing.
Thanks to Rose and ALL my fellow posters here.
    (lurkers, too!)

going for a much needed walk…..bbl~

I’m pretty sure N. Carolina told them to shove it too.

  16. JAC Says:

    Troy
    Good for Texas!!

That is our biggest opstical, …State Government is constantly blackmailed by Federal Government……
When the State does want to stand up….. they are threatened with losing funding for state projects that are really needed….

Troy…I don’t have any doubts about what’s going on but I will tell you that it very much disturbs me listening to the talk radio shows and they act like it’s just BO being stupid and a little corrupt. This behind-the-scenes NWO, one-world currency, Hitler-type of existence doesn’t even sound like it’s going on if you only listen to them and don’t investigate stuff. If the likes of little ole us can find this stuff…why aren’t they??? Glen Beck seems to be at least TRYING to get this across without coming right out with it, but no one sure is. That’s just wrong!

    what would happen? …..

not a lot except the reporter being labeled as nuts, probably losing their job…. The blind will not see,.and if their illusion is threatened they will attack like wild animals..

The ones not in the BO tank,……. have to tread carefully.. hint at things…. let things come out slowly…..like I said earlier….. everything dumbed all at once will just cause a panic…

I’m listening to Hannity and he is always so “This is America. We will survive. Americans are resilient. Blah, blah, blah…” If we so very close to not having a say anymore, I don’t know how true this can be……

This is America and we will survive…
it just won’t be how we have things now..
Somethings harder, but also somethings better as we get back to being better human beings..

When I am outside and look at all the beauty and the sunshine… it is tough not to question myself,…. am I getting it wrong?…… am I over reacting?

Then I think about 9/11 … it was a beautiful morning… all was right with the world… then the planes hit the towers and America was changed forever in an instant…..

  35. Tenacity Says:

Just for the record, I’d like for all of you to know the nature of this beast. There were some guys that once liked to call me a coward back in high school because they could pick on me and I wouldn’t react to them. One day the group of them were picking on one of my friends as I was approaching. Without saying anything, I laid a couple of them on their backs and told them they best not get up. They both were stinging pretty good and when they realized their “friends” were having no part of it, decided to lay there for a minute or 2 until my friend and I left. I never had a problem with them or anyone else in school after that. My point is, if any of you are outnumbered or in an uncomfortable circumstance, you can count on me. I will take a lot of abuse myself and don’t need to defend myself. I know whose I am and He has enabled me to be joyfully decisive (not take things personally). I appreciate the strong relationships we have here and trust you all very much. Thank you for being good friends.

If I have a little faith in mankind it was because it was shown to me during the flooding over the summer… We camped out in a strangers yard with our animals.. they fed us… gave us blankets…. offered everything they could offer to strangers…..when we were able to return home… all the neighbors joined together to help and watch out for each other….. there was one family that wasn’t able to get back right away and we broke the window so we could get to their dog and took care of her until they was able to return…

In 2005 an evacuation of the Texas coast was taking place due to Hurricane Rita….Interstate 45 from Galveston to almost Dallas was a parking lot and I mean IT WAS A PARKING LOT….It was a natural disaster all by itself….It was in the upper 90’s and humid….People were running out of gas and the service stations had no gas….People’s cars were overheating and breaking down….People were exiting their cars and laying out in the grass medians….People ran out of drinks and food….Elderly and infants were among the suffering…..People died!!!…..Helicopters were dropping water and Texans that lived along the roadways were taking entire families (strangers) into their homes and giving them shelter, food, and medical attention…..It wasn’t just the one freeway either, it was every single one of them that led out of Houston…..The problem has since been remedied for the most part and shouldn’t happen like that again.

    Soul,
There is a protocol sheet that comes with the bottle. The mix is one part MMS for 5 parts of citrus juice (lemon or lime) or vinegar. The 1:5 ratio is maintained regardless of how many drops of MMS used. It is recommended that you start out with no more than 2 drops of MMS and increase 1 drop each subsequent dose until you reach 15 drops. You take it twice a day until you reach 15 drops and then go to 3 times a day for maybe a week. Then you drop back to the maintenance dosage. I’m not there yet, but I think its 6 drops twice a day.

A really handy thing to have is a bicycle with a wagon or cart attached. If fuel is confiscated your car will be useless. I have my bike set up to carry a cart that holds 4 5-gallon containers–we’re in a very small town, just 1 1/2 miles from a river. A friend recently bought a small wagon & harnesses for his horses and is training them to pull the wagon.

I cannot get my monitor to display when my computer wakes from sleep mode. I have never had this problem in the past. About two weeks ago it started happening and the only way to fix it is to reboot my computer.

I have searched several forums and have gone to Windows Vista support and I can’t figure it out. I have reinstalled drivers, the monitor itself, and my computer keeps telling me that everything is working properly.

Did Supreme Court clerk torpedo eligibility cases?
Taitz submits motion for rehearing in case challenging Obama’s citizenship

    Posted: March 12, 2009

    By Bob Unruh
    © 2009 WorldNetDaily

A California attorney whose emergency submission to the U.S. Supreme Court on President Obama’s eligibility was turned back without a hearing or comment now is submitting a motion for re-hearing, alleging some of her documentation may have been withheld from the justices by a court clerk.

The motion for reconsideration alleges a court clerk “of his own volition and on his own authority refused to file of record, docket, and forward to the Chief Justice and Associate Justices petitioners’ supplemental brief presented on January 15, 2009.”

Orly Taitz, who is working on the case Lightfoot vs. Bowen through her foundation, Defend Our Freedoms, told WND that she started checking back through her paperwork after asking Justice Antonin Scalia this week about the case.

His response was that a petitioner needed four affirmative votes among the nine justices for a hearing to be held. Taitz interpreted to mean that among the four justices generally considered conservative, at least one had been voting against hearing the Obama eligibility issue.

The issue of Obama’s eligibility has been raised before the Supreme Court at least four times already but has yet to be given a hearing. Cases have been brought by Taitz, Philip Berg, Cort Wrotnowski and Leo Donofrio.

While the requests have been heard “in conference” by the justices, no hearings have resulted on the evidence. WND previously has reported that cases brought to individual justices on an emergency basis can be discussed in such conferences, but they need the affirmative vote from four justices before a hearing on the merits can be scheduled.

The Supreme Court today is considered to have mainly a 4-4 conservative-liberal split, with one swing vote on most issues. On the conservative side generally are Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Samuel Alito, Scalia and Justice Clarence Thomas. Justice Anthony Kennedy often is the swing vote. The liberal side frequently includes Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, David Souter and John Paul Stevens.

Where’s the proof Barack Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the “natural-born American” clause in the Constitution? If you still want to see it, join more than 325,000 others and sign up now!

Taitz explained in the motion that she submitted a brief Jan. 15 that reflected new developments in the case. She noted such filings “are allowed, when there is a new law or changed circumstance in the case.”

The change was the approval by Congress of the Electoral College vote in the presidential race.

However, the clerk “refused to file this brief in the docket, stating that he will send it back with [an] explanation,” the motion states. “Nothing was sent back and no explanation [was] provided.”

    SOCIALISM IN AMERICA

    CHAPTER I
    SOCIALISTS AND THE WAR

In October, 1914, after three months of war in Europe, there appeared in the New York Call a political advertisement signed by the Socialist candidate for governor in which the voter was instructed that a vote for Socialism was a vote against war. In the same paper and in other Socialist publications were printed bitter attacks on the European Socialists for their surrender of principle to the dominant nationalism, equally fierce defences of their course as wise or necessary in the circumstances, and predictions as to the probable effect of international disaster on international Socialism.

Khalim Massoud wrote me as follows:

“There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that (the) Buffalo beheading is a honorcide. We, Muslims Against Sharia, prefer this term to honor murder. Beheading is not just a murder, it’s a ritual. It’s a form of control and humiliating a family member who “stepped over the line,” in this case, wife taking out a TRO (order of protection) and planning to divorce her husband.

Ms. Pappas must be commended for her courage to call a spade a spade. (The) PC-climate presents considerable danger for future honorcide victims. Trying to sweep cultural/religious aspects of honorcide under the rug keeps the problem from being addressed. While most of the media wouldn’t touch the issue with a ten-foot pole, (for) fear they would be portrayed as Islamophobic, a few brave women, the true feminists, like Marcia Pappas and Phyllis Chesler are speaking out on the subject just to be slammed by so-called victim advocacy groups because they dare to expose Islamism’s dirty laundry. Muslim women in America are at great risk because Muslim establishment, with help of the media, wants to portray honorcide as fiction.

Honorcide has no place in the modern world, but especially in the West. It must be forcefully confronted; not written off as domestic violence. Almost a year ago, [3] MASH started STOP HONORCIDE! initiative. The goal is to have honorcide classified as a hate crime. The Buffalo case is a perfect example why honorcide should be a hate crime. The suspect is being charged with the 2nd degree murder. If honorcide were classified as a hate crime, he’d be charged with the 1st degree murder.”

Why Jon Stewart Really Attacked Jim Cramer

    March 13, 2009 10:58 AM ET

    http://www.usnews.com/blogs/capital-commerce/2009/3/13/jon-stewart-vs-jim-cramer.html

Stewart really doesn’t believe in the idea of a stock market where individuals can go to invest their money and build wealth over the long term.

This, I think, is a revealing quote:

Isn’t that part of the problem, selling this idea that you don’t have to do anything? Anytime you sell people the idea that, sit back and you’ll get 10 to 20 percent on your money, don’t you always know that that’s going to be a lie. When are we going to realize in this country that our wealth is work, that we’re workers.

    James Pethokoukis:

So what is Stewart suggesting, that we “workers” just save insane gobs of money that we squirrel away into low-yielding savings accounts and rely on those savings and Social Security for our retirement?

The only reason to do that is if you don’t believe in the long-run soundness of the American economy.

And if the American economy isn’t dynamic over the long run, don’t expect Social Security or Medicare to meet their meager promises.

Americans need to be building asset wealth, they need to think of themselves as “investors” and not just workers.

Even plenty of Democrats believe that, which is why many are pushing universal savings accounts.

Now, of course, investors tend to be more conservative than folks without investment portfolios.

So maybe that is what really bugs the liberal Stewart, as well as those Dems who want to get rid of 401(k) plans.

    EXCERPT

HH: Now there has been some push-back on the Obama budget plan, not just among Republicans, but even among more centrist Democrats like Max Baucus and Kent Conrad, et cetera. Do you think they’re starting to sober up, Mark Steyn, that their party could be in serious trouble if they continue down this road?

MS: Yes, I think so. I think essentially, they’re gambling that…I think the administration is gambling, because I don’t think its priority is the economy. Its priorities are these transformational policies on health care, on energy, and on education. And I think they take the view that if things get bad enough, enough people will want to cling to the big security apron strings of a big government nanny, that the bad economy will work in their favor. But I detect a real groundswell of dissatisfaction and anger out there, not among hard-core right-wing people, but among the centrists and moderate who helped spur Obama’s victory in November. It’s pretty clear he’s gone from being Mr. Post-partisan to Mr. Left-wing, big-spending liberal in nothing flat. And I don’t think his numbers are going to be looking so good in six weeks, eight weeks time.

HH: I agree with that. Now let’s turn to some manifestations of this big left-center conflict, to which we are just by-standers. Jim Cramer V. Jon Stewart – have you followed this?

MS: Yeah, and you know, the thing is, everyone wants to lump people together as a trend. Jim Cramer is nobody’s idea of a right-winger. He’s not even anybody’s idea of a centrist, moderate conservative like David Brooks and all these other squishies who were lying on their backs waggling their paws in the air as Obama tickled their tummy a couple of weeks ago. Jim Cramer is someone who is not linked to conservatism of any variety at all, but he sees the way things are going, and there’s going to be a lot more Jim Cramers down the line.

I really wish people would just lay off Michael Steele. Republicans have a tendency to eat their own. Do you have any idea how bad it would look to have the first Black RNC chairman seemingly ousted from his position?! And I’m a Dem!

“RNC chairman Michael Steele tackles controversies during Portland visit”

The national committee chief explains abortion comments in GQ magazine

    Friday, March 13, 2009

    http://www.oregonlive.com/politics/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/news/1236934554263350.xml&coll=7

Steele called on the state parties to exercise more discipline over the process of selecting GOP candidates and to recruit and groom candidates who can win general elections.

“That’s how you begin to win,” he said. “Where it begins is taking control of the process.”

Apparently referring to some of the controversies that have erupted around him, Steele said, “It may seem like four years, but it’s only been 40 days I’ve been in this job.”

Steele’s trip to Portland, his first fundraising effort for a state party, was in part a favor to Oregon’s new Republican Party Chairman, Bob Tiernan, a strong supporter of Steele for the RNC chairmanship.

Vowing to reinvigorate the state party, Tiernan said a party debt of $200,000 had been cut in half and would be eliminated by the end of April. He said the party, which recently shifted its headquarters from Salem to Portland, would be “very aggressive” in challenging revenue-raising measures enacted by the Democratic-controlled Legislature and would use the initiative and referral system to oppose Democratic legislation.

“We’re not going to just sit back and let things happen,” he said.

Tiernan said the two receptions that Steele attended were expected to raise about $200,000 for the state party.

Obama’s Rosetta Stone is an albatross around our neck!

    “The Obama Rosetta Stone”

    • By DANIEL HENNINGER

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123681860305802821.html

“A New Era of Responsibility: Renewing America’s Promise. The President’s Budget and Fiscal Preview” (Government Printing Office, 141 pages, $26; free on the Web). This is the U.S. budget for laymen, and it’s a must read.

Turn immediately to page 11. There sits a chart called Figure 9. This is the Rosetta Stone to the presidential mind of Barack Obama. Memorize Figure 9, and you will never be confused. Not happy, perhaps, but not confused.

Complaints have emerged recently, on the right and left, that the $787 billion stimulus bill will produce less growth and jobs than planned because too much of it goes to social programs and transfer payments, or “weak” Keynesian stimulus. The administration’s Romer-Bernstein study on the stimulus estimated by the end of next year it would increase jobs by 3.6 million and GDP by 3.7%.

One of the first technical examinations of the Romer-Bernstein projections has been released by Hoover Institution economists John Cogan and John Taylor, and German economists Tobias Cwik and Volker Wieland.
    ***
They conclude that the growth and jobs stimulus will be only one-sixth what the administration predicts.
    ***
In part, this is because people anticipate that the spending burst will have to be financed by higher taxes and so will spend less than anticipated.

New York’s Mike Bloomberg, mayor of an economically damaged city, has noted the pointlessness of raising taxes on the rich when their wealth is plummeting, or of eliminating the charitable deduction for people who have less to give anyway.

True but irrelevant. Mayor Bloomberg should read the Obama budget chapter, “Inheriting a Legacy of Misplaced Priorities.” The economy as most people understand it was a second-order concern of the stimulus strategy. The primary goal is a massive re-flowing of “wealth” from the top toward the bottom, to stop the moral failure they see in the budget’s “Top One Percent of Earners” chart.

The White House says its goal is simple “fairness.” That may be, as they understand fairness. But Figure 9 makes it clear that for the top earners, there will be blood. This presidency is going to be an act of retribution. In the words of the third book from Mr. Obama, “it is our duty to change it.”

Notice I said they are BIG dogs”

Speaking of pets … I have a doggie door and it is always open. I have 3 cats and a big dog too and if something happens to us, I don’t want them to be trapped inside or outside either.

Before the dog joined us, I had the doggie door slider “door” thing attacted to one end of a cord and the other end to a nail in the door and lowered to make the opening smaller so that larger animals couldn’t follow our cats in. But the dog is so big that I had to adjust the opening for him. Hopefully, he’ll be keeping any larger animals out from now on :c)

Thought I might suggest a doggie door addition for other folks who have inside pets…. in the spirit of preparedness.

BTW, habor freight tools has a very inexpensive audio/video camera, B/W, weather resistant, hooks right into the vcr/dvr and monitored from the tv. Not the greatest quality, but a person could be better alerted if the Gestapo were headed to their door and there was still power coming in the “home”.

    TY everyone for the ideas.

JAC, can someone just go buy those meds in paper bags w/o a script?
