Mere Human Beings

DÉDALO E ÍCARO.

The myth of Icarus covers topics such as parent-child relationships and the desire of man to go ever further, even at the risk of having to meet face to face with their status as mere human beings.

Perhaps we should borrow a page or two from the left’s protest playbook.

“El pueblo unido jamás será vencido”

“The people united will never be defeated”

It was especially after Pinochet’s September 1973 coup that the group Inti-Illimani (from Chile) made it famous around the world.

Disclaimer: My vanity plate displays “UNIDO” in honor of this song. In 1973 in Chile, I would have been a communist, too.

GOP Leader Boehner Floor Speech Opposing Democrats’ Trillion-Dollar Spending Bill

  6. PeppermintPatty777 Says:

Every dem that voted for the non-stimulus bill should be tied up and shipped to Iraq! Sorry to offend anyone here, but this is ridiculous! They lied when they said we would have 48 hours to read the bill BEFORE it was voted upon. Then, they passed it without reading it themselves! Damn the ones that voted for it! The money is being borrowed from Saudia Arabia, China, Eu.– we are going to be sold out to the enemy before March 1!!! Damn BHMO!

  7. PeppermintPatty777 Says:

Of course, all the dems have talke about today is that it would increase the spending of Food Stamps which would get money into the market quickly!!! Sorry, but I don’t get food stamps–and the 13.00 a month tax “credit” is a slap in the face! Damn the Dems in Congress–the House—the Senate who voted yes for this rape of the American people. I’m proud of the very select few who voted no–and the Rep.s for holding their ground!

  8. jrinNC Says:

Tenacity – I found out exactly what Governor De Jure is – It has to do with the State’s Militia. It basically serves at the pleasure of the Governor. NC currently has a force that is led by a One Star (who is appointed by the Governor) has Brigades, Battalions and small units throughout the state. It stands up when there is total mobilization to support the needs of the state and the governor. Recruitment comes from prior service members and “wanabe’s” (NC has been strong, I know for sure since the late 80’s.) They wear a cammo uniform like those that were issued to the Army in the 80’s.

Let me say that I am totally in to supporting anyway I can thru peaceful means to stop what is taking place in our Government. But the fact is these state militias remind me of the John Burk Society back in late 50’s and 60’s. They were “lam-blasted” back into none-exsitence by J. Edger Hoover, the FBI and the press. That organization believed and made public by getting in front of the news media, wrote books by telling of the conspiracy, IDing people (some of those people are still around and are still taking an active part in those organizations that were apart of the over-throw/wanting to change our Constitution. Under current conditions, it will be very difficult for them/the State Militia, to get to first base. I will tell you and tell them, if they pick up a weapon, the system will come at them with whatever level of combat power it takes. 100 per state is the recruiting goal, that has always been their minimum. Times that by 48 (you cannot count the 2 states outside of CONUS), you don’t have enough man power nor fire power, including local Law Enforcement to put that down. The current system will not allow them to be a major organization.

So with that said all I can say is that this was all destined to be. Nothing anyone does will be able to stop it (even though I wish there was a way). Bottom line, the US will fail economically – When? Who knows, we may recover this time and maybe not. I personally am putting all my trust and faith in God.

JR have you checked out what NH is doing? Check out nhliberty.org/political NH is shoring up their states rights by trying to pass a strong bill to reclaim the constitution and to draw a line in the sand with the Fed. Gov.–and hopefully the NWO! I would like to see NC do the same thing. I wonder who to contact to try to get this started among our state representation.

  10. jrinNC Says:

Patty – I am still in the process of learning all about these militias and know someone who is IN THE KNOW. I will try to keep posting as I learn new info. I have been told once the network is set up in an adequate number is when the military is supposed to expose themselves. Apparently there are people in the military who will also be included with these militias. I would venture to say that there are probably already representatives who are also IN THE KNOW. But the mechanics behind this action is pretty tight lipped at this time.

  11. jrinNC Says:

Patty – as for the bill to reclaim the Constitution I am probably going to contact the Governor’s office regarding this. I really want to learn more about this and have been reading the sites Troy, Tenacity and others have mentioned regarding this in other states. I just do not believe that NC is supporting the current government administration and feel that we will following suit.

  12. jrinNC Says:

    Oops mean “follow suit.”

  15. jrinNC Says:

Patty – I just noticed on that site from NH you told me to look at that the text of the actual bill at h t t p://w w w.gencourt.state.nh.us/legislation/2009/HCR0006.html reads “Whereas the other States that included recommendations, to wit Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island and Virginia, included an identical or similar recommended change; and.” Sounds like to me that NC may also be instituting something or have already done so. Guess I will have to start searching for that now.

I am very familiar with well regulated state militias. You need to be careful making any sweeping comments on this subject. Some of what you said is true about resistance from the Feds. They have deliberately negated the strength of the well-regulated state militias. Note that I keep saying “well-regulated state” militias. All militias are not the same, but the feds like to categorize them as the same as a part of their propaganda campaign. The constitutional militias are “well-regulated state militias.” They are organized from the local precinct up, with officers elected by the local then county then regional then state levels. They ultimately answer to the Governor, but that is NOT who organizes them. If you study Committees of Safety (.org), you will find the constitutional form. Several states have these at different levels of organization. Texas is one of the best and some others have gone by that model. In Colorado, some counties are well organized, but some are non-existent. There is also a group that seems to be organized like you described above. It looks to me as though they may be accepting state/federal funding which is a huge violation of the whole concept. The Governor should not run these groups except that these local groups must be on call at the Governor’s request.

There is a lot happening within the states to protect their sovereignty. It will take several years to re-establish the well-regulated state militias as they once were. All during the 18th and 19th centuries, these were the norm and nearly every citizen participated. We must return to that practice on a significant scale. It is happening and the usurpation of the federal government is giving rise to people wanting to be educated.

  18. inspirational1 Says:

Furthermore, today the GOP revealed the small-print details of Barack Obama’s stimulus plan, which is supposed to rescue us from the economic crisis. The plan is filled with a staggering amount of waste. We will be adding billions to our national deficit so we can fund such fine programs as:

    • $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film.

    • $650 million for the digital television converter box coupon program.

    • $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship).

    • $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees.

    • $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities.

    • $75 million for “smoking cessation activities.”

    • $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges.

    • $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction.

    • $500 million for flood reduction projects on the Mississippi River.

    • $10 million to inspect canals in urban areas.

    • $6 billion to turn federal buildings into “green” buildings.

    • $650 million for wildland fire management on forest service lands.

    • $1.2 billion for “youth activities,” including youth summer job programs.

    • $500 million for building and repairing National Institutes of Health facilities in Bethesda, Maryland.

    • $160 million for “paid volunteers” at the Corporation for National and Community Service.

    • $5.5 million for “energy efficiency initiatives” at the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration.

    • $850 million for Amtrak.

    • $100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint.

    • $110 million to the Farm Service Agency to upgrade computer systems.

    • $200 million in funding for the lease of alternative energy vehicles for use on military installations.

Will reducing lead-based paint stimulate our economy? Will inspecting canals in our urban areas create jobs?

Support for the stimulus plan appears to be fading fast. As we reported here, many believe that the stimulus plan won’t reach American taxpayers until it’s too late to create any real jobs. Meanwhile, our federal employees will have some nice Priuses to drive around in.

    Thank you, Obama.

  21. jrinNC Says:

Tenacity – The info i relayed came from a person who supposedly knows an associate with the NC group and he was former military. I know absolutely nothing about them other than what he told me. He is the one who told me that the Governor appoints their top officials. Whether or not they are accepting state/federal funding I do not know. He also spoke of an attached SOP, but I was not able to see that. I must truly admit I was not aware that there was a State Militia in NC other than in an honorary or commemorative way.

I agree that these militias are not like they use to be – those militias are what gave us our country to begin with.

  22. jrinNC Says:

But I do have one question – what is the difference between the National Guard and a State Militia???? I know the National Guard is state/federal funded – so is a State Militia just ordinary citizens?

  23. Tenacity Says:

Did any of you hear Dr. Mike Ritze say that he also plans to sign on Dr. Orly Taitz’s suit for writ of Mandamus to force the impostor in chief to prove his eligibility?

Okay, we’ve got 4+ from Tennessee and 1 from Oklahoma. What other states have anybody with GUTS?

  24. Tenacity Says:

Although the National Guard answers to the governors, it is a division of the Army and is federally funded. The Joint Chiefs really control them. Many have abdicated the responsibilities of the citizenry (militias) by assuming that they are protected by the National Guard. This is a part of the serious mistake that has been made over time. The National Guard will not protect the states from the federal government. SERIOUS MISTAKE!

  25. jrinNC Says:

Thanks Ten – I suspected that the NG are not involved, but I gotta say that some of them may stray to the militia side. That is bases purely on some of the people who I know who are in the Guard.

Yes, I too have been listening to Plains and I did hear Dr Ritze say that.

The only other state I know who has possible people to do this is South Carolina – Hasn’t Orly spoken with some of them already?

That was a part of their discussion on state laws being proposed I believe. THEY do not have the power to do that on a national scale.

They actually have on their web page the news about Stacy Campfield and the others. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the greatest reputation as a legislator so the blogs there are all over him! I just had to get in there and fight a little tonight! There were a few folks that thought the same way as me, but a majority of them are still living in a bubble.

This was in the Tennessean today as well so it’s finally getting some MSM play. One thing did iritate me and I’m tempted to write some letters! A couple of the legislators made fun of Stacy and started asking him for his birth certificate. GRRRRR!

I also had a family reunion there at the same time. I have a large family there. Most live in Hendersonville & Goodlettsville, but some in Nashville, Lebanon and Chatanooga (Look Out Mountain).

I lived in Neyland Stadium 1969-1970 in the old jock dorm during the Kent State Strikes. We formed a student police force and worked with the campus police to keep the Knoxville police off campus cause their brutality was going to cause the campus to be torn apart. I don’t know how old you are, but some may remember the Knoxville 21…kids that got their heads cracked and jailed for throwing snowballs at the paddy wagons in front of the Admin Bldg on the Hill. They all referred to the US Senate and House as cowards. They talked about state legislation RE: sovereignty. It appears that many state legislators are beginning to stand up for both state sovereignty and the eligibility question.

  48. Tenacity Says:

That makes 7 plus cause others in Tennessee are joining. With NH in the game, you can bet those that are pushing the sovereignty and gold money resolutions will jump on. With Mike Ritze now on board, it may start a wild fire. I’m lovin’ it.

My poor father has a hard time believing that the MSM isn’t reporting this and that not everything they say is the truth. He says it sure didn’t used to be like that. I believe they are going to be forced to report this before long!

Our family reunion was at the Hermitage House on July 6th last year. I grew up right across the river in Madison. Madison class of ’69. We owned a grocery store on Gallatin Road which my Dad built and the building is still there. I used to hang out with kids from Dupont. Dated a few gals in the Hermitage area.

    Troy,
I used to hike on the Appalacian trail out of Newfound Gap. It seems like we were able to see Greenville (lights) from Charlie’s Bunyan just above Ice Water Springs. I started my real estate career selling secondary homesites at a resort called The Kingdom of Camelot in the Tri-Cities area. Wow…that brings back some memories. Lots of in-breeding in that area. One of my best friend at UT (Knoxville) was Butch Hatfield that lived in that area. Yep, one of the actual feuding Hatfields. He was a heck of pool shark…we couldn’t beat each other so we teamed up. We won a lot of money shooting 9 ball.

  59. Troy Says:

I’ve been known to shoot a little pool, myself.

  60. Tenacity Says:

    Troy,
Shooting pool in Knoxville turned out to be a dangerous pastime. My brother was much better than me. He probably won more money shooting bank in the Air Force than they paid him. I would side bet when we went out. I am sure he brought me along as a body guard. People don’t like it when you take their whole paycheck. I’m lucky I’m still alive and my brother still owes me a bigger share than I got. It was in the days when tippling was illegal and the places that operated stayed open all night. Crazy times.

  61. Troy Says:

The report would probably seem preposterous if it weren’t for the fact that Team Obama already waived sanctions on Syria and is considering opening travel to Cuba.
It’s like watching Carter on Speed.

This latest news comes from the February 18, 2009 edition of Geostrategy Direct (subscribers only):

    DOSSIER: Ehud Barak
‘Change’ the mullahs can believe in: Obama to drop sanctions on Iran

TEL AVIV — Israelis may have gone to the polls hoping for “Change” but the status quo is all any of the candidates could look forward to whatever the outcome. Defense Minister Ehud Barack, has already glimpsed the future and has warned about what it holds.

Meanwhile, the status quo means continued rocket and missile attacks while international aid pours into the Gaza Strip and bolsters a regime run by Hamas, which is still considered by the United States to be a terrorist organization.

But “Change” is taking place, Barak has intimated, originating not in the Mideast but in Washington, D.C. in the form of a U.S. reconciliation with Iran.

Such a process could result in U.S. acceptance of Teheran’s nuclear weapons program and the downplaying of its threats against Israel.

Just as Barack Obama entered office facing a massive economic crisis beyond the scope of his experience, likewise the new Israeli leader will have to make or delay making difficult strategic decisions from the minute he or she enters office.

Barak has already signaled what the new government can expect, officials here said.

The United States has abandoned its policy of sanctioning companies that aid Iran’s nuclear and missile program, they said.

The officials said the new Obama administration of has decided to end sanctions against Iranian government agencies or companies that aid Teheran’s missile and nuclear program. The officials said Israel has been informed of the new U.S. policy.

“We were told that sanctions do not help the new U.S. policy of dialogue with Iran,” an official said.

Barak confirmed the new U.S. policy. In an address to the Herzliya Conference on Feb. 3, Barak said Washington did not say whether it would resume sanctions against Iran.

“We must arrive at a strategic understanding with the United States over Iran’s military nuclear program and ensure that even if at this time they opt for the diplomatic option, it will only last a short time before harsh and necessary sanctions are imposed,” Barak said.

Obama decided to end sanctions against Iran after determining that the U.S. measures had failed to block Teheran’s missile or nuclear weapons program, officials said. Under the administration of former President George Bush, the United States accelerated sanctions on Iran in 2008.

In his address, the Israeli defense minister indicated that Obama had forged an entirely new approach toward Iran. He said the Israeli government has sought a briefing from the new U.S. administration.

A U.S. defense source said the White House would no longer enforce sanctions imposed by the Bush administration. The source said the decision has already been relayed to Iran.

“The administration has abandoned sanctions entirely,” the U.S. source said. “It is a completely new ballgame.”

Similarly, Obama has decided on a new U.S. ambassador to Syria and is expected to lift sanctions against a nation charged with aiding Al Qaida in Iraq and secretly building a nuclear reactor with North Korean assistance.
Diplomatic sources said Obama, in consultation with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has asked Frederic Hof to become the first U.S. ambassador to Damascus since 2005. The sources said Hof, a member of the National Advisory Committee of the Middle East Policy Council, agreed to take the post.

The sources said the Obama administration was expected to suspend U.S. sanctions on Syria’s military and energy programs.

They said Hof would be authorized to facilitate an expansion of U.S. relations with Syria, which deteriorated under President George Bush.

In 2005, the United States withdrew its ambassador to Damascus in wake of the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. Syria was blamed for the car bombing in Beirut in which Hariri and many of his bodyguards were killed.

The sources said Obama sent emissaries to Syria in September 2008 and pledged that if elected he would reconcile with the regime of President Bashar Assad. After his election victory, they said, Obama sent another message that promised to appoint an ambassador within the first weeks of his administration.

Barak: Coordinate foreign policy on Iran with US

“The State of Israel must reach a strategic understating with the US regarding the nature of the Iranian military nuclear program,” said Barak.

“A nuclear Iran will pose a threat not only to Israel but to the area and to the entire world. Israel is not ruling out any options, and recommends that other countries do likewise,” Barak told Blair.

Earlier this month, soon after Defense Minister Ehud Barak warned during a trip to northern Israel that the transfer of anti-aircraft weapons from Syria to Hizbullah “could force Israel to act,” Israeli officials announced that Hizbullah may have already acquired surface to air, anti-aircraft capabilities.

Tenacity, there was a time when people banned together in the name of something they believed in. Its true that it is much more arduous to rebel against an injustice when you are one……If you marched to your state house alone demanding your rights be protected you would be arrested. If you were with 50, 100, 1000 others, people take notice and your efforts will be more of a stimulation toward change….moral of the story…there is stimulation in numbers….oh dear, I just crack myself up….heheheh

Regarding specter, great news…..come on Toomey

“A look inside the numbers shows the problem for Specter may be even more significant. Fifty-eight percent (58%) of Republican voters in the state are less likely to vote for Specter. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, just 27% are more likely to support the long-time incumbent while 48% are less likely to do so.

These numbers are not surprising given the partisan response to the stimulus bill itself. Nationwide, support for the stimulus legislation increased following President Obama’s nationally televised press conference earlier this week. Still, the legislation is perceived as being what Democrats want rather than a bipartisan product.

In Pennsylvania, 69% of Republicans oppose the package while 73% of Democrats favor it. Those not affiliated with either major party are evenly divided. That partisan divide places Specter in a difficult position. Even though Specter has aligned himself with the president and other Democrats on the stimulus, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has announced that the Pennsylvania Republican is one of their top targets for the 2010 election cycle.

Specter won re-election in 2004 by a 53% to 42% margin. However, he barely survived a conservative primary challenge from then-Congressman Pat Toomey. Even though he had the support of the state’s Republican establishment, Specter was able to defeat Toomey only by two points, 51% to 49%. “

Sorry Tenacity, that was unintentional..just kinda drifted that way.
my point was, we need an “uprising” In its truest form.

Throughout the years of the “me generation”…the hippies, yuppies, the DREADED BABY BOOMERS! all the same fools who rename themselves every decade. this particular generation has used many different means to gain recognition by “the man”, starting with protests, sit ins, rallies, marches and now mostly fund raisers.
so here they are, mostly liberals, running our country…even though Obama is a decade shy of this party agewise, he none the less belongs. as his mentor, and fellow flag stomper ayers will attest to, albiet in secret.

my dark suspicion of this group eventually running our country has been realized. this group of self serving, zero character, tyrants used tactics of an organized unit working on behalf of the less fortunate.

this won them their power, all of which was a lie to gain their power.
in all actuality we now have a party of totalitarianism running our country…..and to think it all started with their very first protest based on peace, love and happiness……hypocrites in their truest from…lol

Tenacity, can we, as conservatives, or whatever we chose for our titles, Id say anti-liberals should describe a party of individuals seeking new leadership that subscribes to the Constitution of the united States of America. Thats how simple our party description should be.
“The Constitutions “EVERYBODY HAS TO HAVE A NAME.

THE Constitutions are forming to rush capitol hill in efforts to gain new leadership under a party that is of the people for the people and by the people…..Change is in numbers. band together and take back our country.

It will be very difficult to convince republicans to join together in a protesting form….we just are not civilly disobediant, although we may need to reconsider.
I just want to somehow have our voice be heard…. if more Americans knew what Obama was really doing then maybe that would be our numbers…
I dont know….I just feel the only way obama should leave this office is in HANDCUFFS!!!!!

I watched something interesting tonight. I was at my local Borders bookstore, and there was a large display of Obama books in the front of the store. When I sat down to have my coffee, I was starring toward the display and was watching to see what kind of person would stop to pick up, or browse through any of the Obama books.

I sat for about a half an hour and during that time, not one person stopped to check out the books, BUT two different individuals walked by and turned a book with his face around. I couldn’t believe that it happened twice!

I have heard that this is a new thing that people are doing as a sign to others that they are not alone, and that another (non-brainwashed) person has been there. It was amazing to see it happen before my eyes.

When I finished my coffee, I went and finished the job. It was such a sense of empowerment!
