“FACTBOX: Obama’s cabinet begins to take shape”

EXCERPTS

(Reuters) – President-elect Barack Obama‘s cabinet is beginning to take shape.

While certain key positions — notably Treasury secretary — remain open races, names have emerged for a number of important jobs.

Here are people Obama has reportedly chosen or is considering for Cabinet posts. Most remain subject to vetting and all must be confirmed by the Senate before taking office.

LEADING CANDIDATES

SECRETARY OF STATE

* Hillary Clinton, the New York senator and Obama’s former rival for the White House, is on track to be named secretary of state. Obama is said to be intrigued by the idea of creating a “team of rivals” in his government that would be modeled after that former President Abraham Lincoln.

One possible obstacle has been the post-White House work of Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton. He is said to be trying to address questions about whether his global philanthropic and business activities would create conflicts of interest if his wife got the job.

A Democratic source said the former first lady was on track to get the job and that financial disclosure issues had been ironed out.

* If no deal is reached, other possible candidates are believed to include New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee.

NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER

* Retired Marine Gen. James Jones (see photo below), the former top operational commander of NATO, is a leading contender for White House national security adviser.

Jones is widely respected by both Democrats and Republicans but has avoided aligning himself with either party.

He is known to have been a strong critic of the Bush administration’s handling of the Iraq war and is quoted as describing the war as a “debacle,” in Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward’s 2006 book “State of Denial.”

* James Steinberg, who was deputy national security adviser in Bill Clinton’s administration, was also said to be under consideration.

OPEN RACES

TREASURY SECRETARY

Probably the most closely watched appointment in the new administration. The leading candidates are:

* Lawrence Summers, a former Clinton Treasury secretary and top adviser to Obama, has played a major role in shaping the president-elect’s response to the financial crisis.

* Timothy Geithner, president of the New York Federal Reserve Bank, has helped to lead efforts to stabilize financial markets and argued that banks crucial to the global financial system should operate under a unified regulatory framework.

* Paul Volcker, former Federal Reserve chairman, broke the back of the double-digit inflation in 1970s and 1980s and has advised Obama on his call for an overhaul of U.S. financial regulations.

SECRETARY OF DEFENSE

* Current Defense Secretary Robert Gates, named by President George W. Bush in late 2006, is considered a moderate voice on the Republican’s national security team and could embody an important signal of continuity.

* Sen. Chuck Hagel, a Republican senator from Nebraska, has been a foreign policy adviser to Obama and a strong critic of the Iraq war.

* Richard Danzig, an adviser to Obama on national security and Clinton-era Navy secretary, has been mentioned by many in the media as a possible defense secretary or deputy defense secretary.

    He’s not president YET.

You can tuck tail and shulk away.

You can whine to the choir

    or you can FIGHT.

As long as there is a chance that we can discredit and bring Obama down via his lying and the phoney BC, then we will pursue it.

    Stop the Obama Constitutional Crisis
When you were first elected and as tradition requires you have sworn the oath: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me G-d.”
Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution reads: “No Person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States at the time of the adoption of this constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.”
There are numerous questions as to Obama’s citizen status raising suspicion and doubt about Obama constitutional qualification to be president. To settle these questions Mr. Obama must produce proof of citizenship!
    Documents that must be produced include;
    (a) a certified copy of “vault” (original long version) birth certificate;
    (b) certified copies of all reissued and sealed birth certificates in the names Barack Hussein Obama, Barry Soetoro, Barry Obama, Barack Dunham and Barry Dunham;
    (c) a certified copy Certification of Citizenship;
    (d) a certified copy Oath of Allegiance taken upon age of maturity;
    (e) certified copies of admission forms for Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School; and
    (f) certified copies of any court orders or legal documents changing his name from Barry Soetoro.
It is reasonable that these documents should be produced considering that his father is Kenyan, his adoptive father is Indonesian, and his grandmother claims to have been present at his birth in Kenya. If he is a natural born citizen then producing these documents should not be any problem.
These allegations will not go away until Mr. Obama produces proof to federal authorities and the public. If he will not do so voluntarily he must be compelled by every means available. You, as an employee of The People, have sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution.
We The People are demanding you to make every effort, both public and private, to resolve this fundamental Constitutional question before 20 January.

    Dear Justice Thomas
I respectfully request that you consider reviewing Docket No. 08A407 Leo C. Donofrio, Applicant v. Nina Mitchell Wells, New Jersey Secretary of State.
Our Constitution in Article II Section 1 Paragraph 5 states “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President”.
Mr. Donofrio represents a considerable number of citizens noting the conspicuous failure of the presidential-designate to produce sufficient proof of compliance with the above constitutional requirement.

The work of Mr. Ron Polarik has shown all Certificates of Live Birth to date to have been forgeries.

Thank you for your consideration of this extremely critical matter.

I heard Michael whatshisname the former Lt Gov of Maryland this morn

he believes Obama will govern more centrist in the beginning then start to veer to left before reelection time

  4. thinkingmom11 Says:

Inspirational – It seems to me the best way to keep this guy from getting into office/get him out once he is in is to prove the document forgery. Then it won’t matter where he was born or what kind of citizen he is – he would just be a liar. I think people forgave Clinton for lying because it was made out to be a personal issue – but to put out a fake birth certificate and Selective Service document (if that is fake too – seems to me it probably is) in order to deceive people is beyond what most people will tolerate. There will be some so enamoured with O that it won’t matter but there are many who will be outraged.

    ———————-

well, polarik and berg are working on that

    (just don’t tell polarik’s wife!)

  6. thinkingmom11 Says:

Rosetta – I don’t even know what to expect from O. He may try to govern from the center and that may be why he is picking all these Clinton-era people. I don’t know if it is for the illusion or to purposely keep himself a little more grounded in the middle.

I like Michael Steele but I don’t think he – or anyone else -knows how O will really govern either. Heck, I am not sure O knows what to do with this tiger he’s got by the tail! But I will say, O better not get to out of control too soon – there are too many people watching every move he makes.

  7. rosettasister Says:

But I will say, O better not get to out of control too soon – there are too many people watching every move he makes.

    ————————

that’s exactly what Steele said this morn, mom.

He said Obama too smart to make same mistake Clinton made 93 – 94

And we all know what happened in 94

  8. thinkingmom11 Says:

Rose – I tell ya, these docs sure look forged to me! Techdude and polarik convinced me of that. Now, I am no lawyer, so I am not sure how to go about getting the forgeries to make a difference. I mean, do you try to go through a court of law? Who would have standing? Or do you just rely on public outcry? What if you can’t get the media to cover it? I am wondering what needs to be done to get the forgeries to have a meaningful impact (ie O not sworn in or impeached)…I would love some ideas because I am up for the fight!

  9. rosettasister Says:

    That’s the spirit, TM!

Actually, polarik considers techdude a fraud

    (it’s a long story)

which is why berg replaced techdude’s findings with polarik’s

so, polarik findings part of Berg lawsuit

polarik about to publish his latest which I will copy here

  10. thinkingmom11 Says:

I just hope too that the Republican find a leader like Newt was in 94. We need someone to generate excitement and vision. Maybe Steele is that guy – I know I like him a lot and the only other leader on my radar would be Newt himself and I don’t think he is interested. I hear Newt and Steele have a pretty good working relationship so maybe Newt can mentor Steele through this…

  11. thinkingmom11 Says:

I am looking forward to seeing what new goodies polarik has found!!! That should make for a good morning.

I thought polarik was upset (and rightly so) that techdude used some of polarik’s findings without proper attribution. I wouldn’t think Berg would want to use findings if the opposition could point out that fact. Does polarik think techdude is just dishonest in this situation? or does he think that techdude is unqualified or does shabby work?

  12. sliderblaze Says:

Newt articulates better than any repub out there right now, hopefully that will fub off on many

  13. rosettasister Says:

    Maybe Steele is that guy

    —————————

    Agreed. A rising star? hopefully

And he knows the other rising stars in Republican Party

I am still hoping for more centrist Dems to lead the party

But I fear I hope in vain.

going to find out if anything new from polarik

    bbl

    have a wonderful day, TM!

  14. thinkingmom11 Says:

Good morning Slider. Have you seen his American Solutions website. There is some interesting stuff on there. I personally think that Newt is brilliant! I love to hear his take on things.

  15. thinkingmom11 Says:

Thanks Rose – you too have a great day!

  16. sliderblaze Says:

yeah i been to the site

  17. sliderblaze Says:

and good morning, woke up to about 2 inches of snow

  18. thinkingmom11 Says:

I think there are some really goofy people on the web!! And a few hang out at American Solutions…

  19. thinkingmom11 Says:

EEeewwww – snow. I grew up in Houston and now live in N. Cali so I have never in my life shoveled snow. I don”t think I even saw snow in person until I was 12 and went to CO!

Did you get the paint issue worked out yesterday?

  20. thinkingmom11 Says:

Slider – you and I think alot alike, SO, help me out here…For the future of the Rep. party – who do you see? Jindal, Steele, Palin are the names that come to my mind. Those are pretty obvious – are there any others under the radar that you know of? I am sure there have to be others…

  21. sliderblaze Says:

not yet, i left a message for him. It was soooo much easier when Mayer Smithgall was Mayor, him being a friend of the family. Worse part about it, i have the writtin letter stating that they will give me till the end of november to get it done.

  22. thinkingmom11 Says:

And to think people want gov’t running their health care!

  23. sliderblaze Says:

well, i got a citation and a fine of $304.02

  24. thinkingmom11 Says:

Now – that is just ridiculous.

  25. sliderblaze Says:

Well, my city needs money, i got a parking ticket, at a bus stop, that hasnt been used in 3 years. Last year, we were one snowstorm away from bankruptcy.

  26. thinkingmom11 Says:

I was reading over at polarik’s site polarik.blogtownhall.com and it sounds like he was a vicitm of an MS-type witchhunt attack from some other website call “whatsyourevidence” – it is interesting…seems to be going around.

  27. thinkingmom11 Says:

Luckily, I live in a rep. controlled city (yes, even in CA they exist) and it is a great place to live. We have all updated parks, the roads get resurfaced on a regular schedule, our green areas and medians are beautifully kept, we still have Christmas parades, and wonderful weekly free concerts in out central park in the summer time. All that and it is a pretty darn safe place to live too. Too bad I can’t move the city out of this whacked state.

  28. justanamericancindy4 Says:

Anyone else think it is odd, that API has been completely quiet?
I mean he fought hard to get back on Wp then silence……

  29. sliderblaze Says:

i know, a complete information blackout

  30. thinkingmom11 Says:

I was wondering the same…very strange

  31. hockeyfan530 Says:

yeah, WP is very silent. hasn’t been a new post in a while last time i checked. I guess people just got fed up with the games and found new places to go

  32. hockeyfan530 Says:

man, i have a headache this morning….must have been the gyros i had last night….certainly had nothing to do with the gin and tonics

  33. thinkingmom11 Says:

Good morning Cindy and Fan…Fan, you recover from your TGIT yesterday?

  34. thinkingmom11 Says:

Ha Ha – fan – you were reading my mind!

  35. hockeyfan530 Says:

still working on the recovery but i should have a quiet day at work and a happy hour this evening so should be an easy day

  36. thinkingmom11 Says:

hair of the dog remedy, huh?

  37. hockeyfan530 Says:

not until 3:30 or 4 so i should feel alright by then…just going to drink a gallon of water and i’ll be right as rain

so is there any new news on the forgery? Haven’t had a chance to get to my usual sites yet

  38. thinkingmom11 Says:

I have been reading polarik’s analysis of O’s COLB – THAT is giving me a headache. I just wanted to catch up on what he had posted so that I understand whatever it is he is putting out today…I don’t suggest reading it whild under the influence of a hangover – especially not the overlays!!

  39. sliderblaze Says:

can you post that link moms?

  40. thinkingmom11 Says:

Slider – what happened to your other avatar? The drawing? Maybe you could get a cat one or a dog then when Cindy gets here it will be like a kennel – only not as stinky….until maybe show gets here

  45. sliderblaze Says:

i can see my avatar, cantyou?

  46. toonces777 Says:

  49. hockeyfan530 Says:

sorry if my dog pees in here. She used to be house broken but she was hit by a car a few weeks ago and couldn’t do steps for months after her surgery so she kind of forgot she’s house broken…small price to pay though as far as i’m concerned….the surgery, on the other hand was not so much a small price to pay…but worth it

  50. thinkingmom11 Says:

Toon I live at the foothills on the other side of the Napa Valley – Vacaville. The worst weather we have had in 10 years was massive flooding a couple of years ago. All in all, the weather is great (especially since I grew up in Houston – what a swamp!)

  57. thinkingmom11 Says:

Cindy – I just don’t even know what to think about API – if K was lying there will be a place in hell for him because of all the scripture he used encouraging people to believe. Dangerous ground, IMO

  58. hockeyfan530 Says:

oh, it was a nightmare. Watched it happen. Poor little hound dog. Luckily the car stopped and another lady stopped and some guy walking his dog helped also. I didn’t think she was going to live. had to rebuild her entire back end

  59. tooncesmom Says:

TM: I used to go up to Vacaville with my mom and stepfather (they lived in Concord) to the outlets.

  60. hockeyfan530 Says:

the thing about API is what would be his motivation if he’s lying?

  61. Cyndi Says:

Good morning everyone!!! Has polarik released anyting new yet?

  62. tooncesmom Says:

One more try with new/old avatar.

  63. tooncesmom Says:

Still in moderation. Tooncesmom is toonces777.

  64. thinkingmom11 Says:

I don’t have any dogs right now. But I have 4 kids and a stupid cat – that is bad enough. I told my kids – No dogs for now. Until the littler ones are more self sufficient and the youngest out of diapers – I deal with enough poop each day already! When I do get a dog though, I want a Pappillion or one of the GoldenDoodles, Or maybe just a standard poodle (I don’t like the little poodles). I had an Australian Shepherd growning up and I love them I just don’t have the energy for one of those right now.

  65. toonces777 Says:

Switched to tooncesmom but comments still in moderation.

I honestly don’t know what to think either about K…….I know I never was asked for anything…… It does seem like a lot of trouble to go through for a scam… Hit’s won’t mean anything at his own domain if we already left..
    I just don’t know…. *sigh*
I was always on the fence, I “hoped” there was something to the story, but could never say I actually believed.

  68. thinkingmom11 Says:

Yeah, I still feel a little conflicted about API…none of it makes sense. If he was doing it for attention – he got it, but probably not the kind he wanted. Then when he had a way out (shut down) the guy persists and persists and doesn’t hide. I don’t know what his benefit is – no ads (that I saw anyway), never asked for money, never promoted that Rainbow charity. I don’t know…maybe he is just crazy – that is about the only explanation that makes sense.

  69. thinkingmom11 Says:

Sounds like we are on the same page Cindy

RE: his adoption is also an issue
Posted by graydog on Nov 21, 2008 10:06

I read a post on this website about 3 months ago that was posted by a retired INS agent who worked when Obama came into the united states. He distinctly remembered Obama because of his ‘slick’ manners and speech. The agent says that he went back into the INS files and found the information and that Obama came into the USA on a FS-1 passport/visa. FS-1 is a foreign student visa classification, not a US citizen passport. So, who out there can get into the INS files and find Soreto/Obama’s record of entry into the USA. Who can????

    Reply to: ch22240
Obama’s adoption is a bigger disqualification as it also leads to what passport did he use to travel to Pakistan with in the 80’s.
Pakistan was closed to US travelers.
Obama has already admitted to having dual citizenship, from his own web-site:

    From Obama own website:

Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.”

    Question?
How could it expire, if he never had it?

    The forged short form that Obama released, does not have all the information that the long form has;

    the doctor that delivered him
    the witnesses that were there
    the location/hospital
were there other siblings that were born/stillborn

Sec 7c also allows for foreign births to be registered with the State of Hawaii.
As long as the parent lived in Hawaii for 1 year prior to the birth.
So Obama, who’s own relatives state he was born in Kenya, could have been registered with the
    State of Hawaii also.

His step-sister Maya, who WAS born in Indonesia, also has a Hawaiian COLB. A known foreign birth from the same mother with a State of Hawaii, Cert. of Live Birth.

Obama has also failed/refused to release any records pertaining to school, college, medical.
Why? Was he registered as a foreign exchange student at both colleges?

  104. thinkingmom11 Says:

I guess that is what I am wondering – what “response” is required of Obama? Answers to the questions is Berg’s suit is what most normal people would think but I know that lawyers are not normal (JK lawyers out there) and the meaning behind legal-speak is not always what it seems to those less versed in legalese! What I am guessing is that there will be some sort of legal response – a request to dismiss or whatever…

  105. Cyndi Says:

Believe FEC et al. waived their right to respond by Dec 1st. America’s Right has a detailed article:

    http://www.americasright.com/2008/11/us-supreme-court-decisions-on-berg.html

It’s the et al. things that gets me. Does it refer to ALL defendants in the case? How can FEC respond for Obama, DNC, etc.? Jeff talks about that in his article… I personally feel that on Berg’s case they may go the way of all before – say Berg doesn’t have standing to force BO into producing his BC. I’m still holding out hope for Donofrio’s case though. 🙂

  182. hockeyfan530 Says:

i just don’t get the liberal mind. The people that own guns legally generally aren’t the ones committing crimes. So the only one that would have handguns would be the criminals. Liberals are always soooooo short sighted. Unbelievable

I know fan – do liberals think they are finally going to pass a law with just the right wording that will convince CRIMINALS (who by definition do not obey the law) to simply say to themselves “You know, they are right. I think I am going to stop breaking the law.” Give me a break – they are so naive!

  186. hockeyfan530 Says:

I don’t get the standing issue…shouldn’t any citizen of the US have standing? If he supposedly works for the citizens why wouldn’t we have standing?

Supreme Court Of The United States (SCOTUS) Justice David Souter has agreed that a review of the federal lawsuit filed by attorney Phil Berg against Barack Hussein Obama II, et al., which was subsequently dismissed for lack of standing is warranted. SCOTUS Docket No. 08-570 contains the details.

A review of that docket and the Rule 10 of the Supreme Court makes abundantly clear that Justice Souter’s granting of a review on the Writ of Certiorari is not a right entitled to citizen Phil Berg, but rather is a matter of judcial discretion based upon a compelling reason.

  222. thinkingmom11 Says:

Cyndi – I would think if it is illegal to accept contributions from a foreign source then it would be equally illegal to solicit or encourage such donations….IMO

the first night API came out on Oct 15 the first thing I thought of was Odinga. Then when Korir said he was from Kenya originally I knew the reason why MO would call API. I didn’t doubt it for a second. Now, however, I doubt it almost entirely. Not that it’s not possible for it to have happened.

But I still hope. I’ll take any hope i can.

If the forgery of the bc is proven will that be sufficient cause for the courts? Logically it would but hey, anything to do with Obama doesn’t work with Obama

  229. Troy Says:

I’m back….Wow crazy stuff….Obama and Korir are cozy?

    The plot thickens

  230. Ksinde. Says:

So if the email is real it would give some motive to the MO tapes. But I would think that the One would not be so stupid as to email about illegal $$$.

As far as illegal donations, the email says the $$$ went to 4 campaigns, not BO.

Why would Korir post that email?

  257. jonathanwrightesq Says:

It was an email for a database of website members. You sign up with your email address you get updates from johnkerry.com that was one of them. Obama just signed off on the letter to be sent to the johnkerry.com community he did not know the people on it it was a list of email addresses.

  258. hockeyfan530 Says:

yeah, it could be. But wouldn’t a normal person running for office check who’s on the list when sending out requests for contributions? It’s kind of a big deal

  259. tucker822 Says:

And, MY point is why would anyone even remotely want to venture into that place to look at some stupid form letter. I wouldn’t and just thinking about it makes me feel like I need to go take a shower. Bleh!

I think the point that is trying to be made here is that regardless of whether the letter was a form letter or not, it was sent to a foreign person in a foreign country. The question is why?

  260. jonathanwrightesq Says:

Blast away on me for being a member of Move On.org but I get the same types of things daily from them.

Whats REALLY interesting is that its ILLEGAL to solicit FOREIGN FUNDS for American Political CAMPAIGNS!!!!! That this got sent to API is proof of Illegal Campaign Solicitations!

    ————————————–

As far as why MO might have called Korir in first place, I have a theory.

Korir is anti – Odinga. This is what motivates him. He fears an Odinga ascension to the presidency in Kenya. But in Kenya there is much more to fear than we Americans could possibly imagine.

This is why he opposed Obama. He sees Odinga benefiting from Obama’s win.

In Korir’s original article on MO, remember how disturbed she became when he asked her about Odinga’s involvement in getting Corsi apprehended.

She got real pissy after that, told Korir he should stay out of it.

I believe Odinga had a hand in this. But there also was someone else involved in Kenya who acted as an intermediary between MO and Korir.

I’ve written this elsewhere. If MO had had a better grasp of Kenyan politics, she never would have made the call. Not to Korir anyway.

I’ve also written that airing audio now may do more harm than good. But I mean for America.

For Kenya, that’s a whole other ballgame. And the stakes are a lot higher.

    Rose

Forget about the foreign funds issue. When I came back from Kenya I found a “back door” site of Obama/Biden page. I guess it was possible to get there from here “usa”, but I couldn’t find it. There were fundraisers in Albania, Kenya, Nigeria, and other Islamic nations. I sent emails to McCain’s headquarters, Hannity, and many others. It was about a week later that it came out on the news about Obama getting foreign funding. I still have a save of one of the pages. They don’t really care. Even on this site it said they would take funds from someone who could give over the allowed amount and donate it in someone else’s name–anonymously of course! This man can’t be stopped. It’s been decided by greater powers than we can imagine. The best we can do is help people to be aware of the truth behind his “smile”. Even snakes hiss before they bite!

  275. jonathanwrightesq Says:

Soliciting, Accepting, or Receiving Contributions and Donations from Foreign Nationals
As noted earlier, the Act prohibits knowingly soliciting, accepting or receiving contributions or donations from foreign nationals. In this context, “knowingly” means that a person:

    Has actual knowledge that the funds solicited, accepted, or received are from a foreign national;
    Is aware of facts that would lead a reasonable person to believe that the funds solicited, accepted, or received are likely to be from a foreign national;
Is aware of facts that would lead a reasonable person to inquire whether the source of the funds solicited, accepted or received is a foreign national.
11 CFR 110.20(a)(4)(i), (ii) and (iii).
Pertinent facts that may lead to inquiry by the recipient include, but are not limited to the following: A donor or contributor uses a foreign passport, provides a foreign address,

makes a contribution from a foreign bank, or resides abroad. Obtaining a copy of a current and valid U.S. passport would satisfy the duty to inquire whether the funds solicited, accepted, or received are from a foreign national. 11 CFR 110.20(a)(7).

    Thanks cyndi

None of that would be none by a simple email address that is probably why campaigns can send out these blanket emails.

Does anyone have a clear understanding of the “Standing” issue? If not we the people, then who exactly has standing?

Rose, i am not very informed about the politics there, but i can only imagine!

WHy do you feel it would not be good for america now if the tapes air?

    —————————

    That’s a good question, ks!

Unlike many good-hearted people here, I guess I have resigned myself to Obama becoming our next president.

I’m pretty much a centrist, and I want what is best for our country.

If Obama governs from the middle, I will support him.

If he doesn’t, I will oppose him.

But, like it or not, it looks as though MO will be our next first lady.

I believe the office of the presidency is deserving of respect.

And I hated it when both sides were disrespectful to both Clinton and “W”

I posted Hugh Hewitt interviewing MR a few posts back

But this is all in the past

Ask me about Iraq ten years from now

And it looks as though Hillary will be Sec of State

Good move on Obama’s part, IMHO

    Rose,

Ii here you loud & clear.

I am torn because one half feels as you do, as i have always supported the presidents in the past that i did not vote for.

But, the other half of me feels that BO is wrong… i have never felt this conviction before. There is too many unknowns with him, he is starting off on the wrong foot already. i can’t get past the secrets, then not to mention his radical ways. I could go on and on.

Before it crosses anyones mind, it is not because BO is black. i am absolutely joyful that white america is ready for it. I really thought i wouldn’t see that in my lifetime ot atleast not for a very long time from now.

so true! I feel the same way!

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with us getting in our little digs here.

I’m talking about someone like Gephardt calling Bush “a miserable failure”

I lost all respect for Gephardt after that.

And some of the things Harry Reid has said about Bush.

    Reid disgusts me!!!

  305. jonathanwrightesq Says:

    dude slider.

Come one know you now me, I was not having that debate. I did a tiny bit more reading and there is no way anyone would filter out email fundraising based on address. It is perfectly legal for a US citizen living abroad to give to a campaign.

Now you do make a point and it is up to BOTH sides to tighten down on people outside of the US giving to the canadiates. I say the method that should be institued by both is a US passport is required.

  307. peppermintpatty777 Says:

Can I jump in on this: If BO proves he is legal to serve as POTUS, I will support him as I would any other POTUS, based upon his actions and decisions. However, I do not feel obligated to support a usurper in the White House. I don’t care how it is dressed up. Just because he hasn’t been called out doesn’t mean he has a right to be there. If this were the case then anyone could become POTUS.Why then not allow Arnold to serve as POTUS. I think he would be much more objective and seems to be much more patriotic. I disagree with anyone that thinks that we owe ANYONE our allegiance as POTUS regardless of whether they have the right to the seat or not. Just my h.o.p.– but I will uphold the laws and constitutions of the USA–just depends on whether they are legally laws or not, I guess.

  308. tucker822 Says:

I wonder which “members of Congress” are getting interested? Farah needs to clear that up, IMO.

  309. sliderblaze Says:

hey, it’s a pattern by the dems, scream loud when repubs to do it, silence when the dems do it, case in point. Fact is, the AVS was disabled, why? Well documented that it was. Wheres the outrage? instead i get BOTH sides need to clamp down, well, i did see one side with the AVS intact…..

Foley….front page news for 5 weeks in 06
Mahoney….could barely find it back on page 16, no outcry.

  310. jonathanwrightesq Says:

I agree with you slider on that. That is why I request you not to put words in my mouth. If AVS is on and the address comes up as foreign a US passport should be required at that point.

When the AP looked into it both sides took money without getting a passport. Obama had the additional problem but both needed to tighten it up fully.

  311. Cyndi Says:

I read in the comments of the article posted by pissant

Geraldine Ferraro just said on Fox that “hopefully” Obama will be officially president in a short period of time. Odd wording.

  313. peppermintpatty777 Says:

oops that probably came out a little more forceful than I meant for it too! It wasn’t directed at anyone, just the situation.

I’m so disappointed! Here we are in a monumental time when our country should be celebrating! Everyone should have cause to celebrate that our country has taken a giant step in the direction of democracy. It’s sad that we should have to celebrate “race” at all as a hurdle that had to be overcome. Race and sex both should have been non-issues. There are many countries around the world that have had a female in the leadership role, whether as Pres or Prime Min. So, we have lagged in history here. But, I’m disappointed that Barak Obama has robbed us of the freedom to celebrate that a black American has come to POTUS, given that this man is most likely not a black American. How can we celebrate when our country’s foundation has been rocked?

    Just me–everyone feel free to sound-off …

  314. sliderblaze Says:

It’s the fact that when the dems get caught, they wanna claim both sides need to get it together. And this is the group of people what are gonna bring both sides together…again

please, Dems are more partisan because it’s in there nature

  315. jonathanwrightesq Says:

    Slider

I no the audience here that is why I wanted to point out that McCain and Obama both took money illegally from foreigners.

Obama did not have the address check feature on his website donations McCain did.

I agree Obama needed that on BUT both needed to consistently check passports from foreign addresses which did NOT happen. Both sides did illegal activites and that needs to be stopped. Yelling about Obama was worse than McCain does not change the fact that the whole process needs to be clamped down on.

But for the record I know Obama messed up on it more than McCain.

  316. jonathanwrightesq Says:

no need to correct your spelling, it happens….often, i’ve never been the strongest speller and with the text messaging age, it’s gottn worse.

i dont blame mccain at all, you cant run an honest campaign, when the other guy is cheating, i mean lets be honest here, Obama may have taken more in illegal donations, then mccain had to spend total.

i hope thats a lesson to the repubs

  321. jonathanwrightesq Says:

cyndi it is pretty widely known that Obama himself ignored race throughout his campaign except for that one speech.

You can argue his campaign or minnons brought it up a lot but the Barack Obama himself did not make it an issue.

  322. jonathanwrightesq Says:

So because Obama was doing it worse McCain had to do it just a little. Country first indeed.

    Gotcha… Have a good one.

  323. jonathanwrightesq Says:

Perhaps you want to ask yourself why the FEC is investingating McCain for exceeding contribution limits.

Obama had to except from foreigners to keep up with McCains cheating.
