The Gettysburg Address

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
November 19, 1863

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate — we can not consecrate — we can not hallow — this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us — that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion — that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

This was sent to me by a friend. And she was right. It “definitely sent a few shivers up my spine.”

I wish I could be sure that Obama would have had the same reaction.

    A very interesting take on why Obama won this election. This author is a VERY conservative Christian who I am fairly familiar with. His theory makes sense especially if you share his worldview (that man is inherently sinful and must struggle against that nature). Take it for what it is worth…

    You may receive FAKE emails like this one below in the next few days as API gets closer to airing tape.

    ALWAYS check the sender’s address to one that you originally received from said person.

    The bad guys are trying to take down the new API site and scam the Radio blog there.

    Please DO NOT hit reply to any email that you receive BUT always enter address from your address book or oldest emails.

    This is a whole new ball game and nothing like you have ever been use to.

    This whole tape thing has me a little whacky. Just when I give up on it, something happens that waters that tiny little seed of hope that I thought had died. Like why wouldn’t Korir take the convenient “out” of having his WordPress site shut down but be persistant in getting his message out? Why does it seem that he is a hunted guy? I am feeling very conflicted about this whole thing…

    So far I have not received any emails but thanks for the warning, RS, I wll keep my eye out for them.

    My husband who is a wise man (and kinda cute, too!) asks me what good it would do now to air MO audio.

    He is a patriot and a McCain supporter, but wants what is best for our country.

    Some of my fellow members of the Sound of the Rockies Championship Chorus circulated this fabulous rendition of the Battle Hymn back in the spring of this year. We perform numerous patriotic songs including the Armed Forces Medley. Our audiences are ask to stand when their respection branch is sang. It is always a highlight of one of our concerts. We have vets in our group that salute when their branch comes up.

    I am afraid that patriotism is now and will be very important in holding our country together with the BO regime taking control. The burden of patriotism now takes on a different meaning now that we may be facing a neighbor or even a soldier than we may percieve as the enemy. The civil war was as ugly as it gets (brother against brother). BO raises this as a potential tactic to achieve power. Those with blinders on are walking us into a place worse than the civil war. It was actually easier to identify the enemy in the civil war. This is as bad as trying to identify a terrorist in an arab country. If this scares you, it should.

    If Hillary doesn’t get Sec of State now, that is going to stir up a lot of negativity toward Obama.

    The big test for me will be how Obama handles Iraq now that “W” has done all the heavy lifting.

    The Gettysburg Address in post above about sums up my feelings.

    We cannot in good conscience turn our backs on the brave Americans and Iraqis and others who “gave the last full measure of devotion.”

    Bush, McCain and Lieberman were always right about Iraq.

    Obama was always wrong.

    I don’t expect you to agree with me.

    Just wanted to let you know where I was coming from.

    Hello All,
    I have been a lurker, and now am out of the closet. I started this journey a couple of months back, a friend of ours was talking about bible coding Barack Obama and to the internet I went. That of course led to more sites and distrubing information about BO. I have been to hundreds of sites lost countless hours of sleep, been on the verge of a break down, and at times thought my heart was going to give out. I need a place to feel secure and a place to converse with others about the issues of the day. I am hoping that Rosettasister’s is a place where I can find both. With all the evil in the world and history itself has put fear in me and lack of trust in others. I was afraid to sign up at any site for fear of repercussions from anyone that might have access to my private information. I feel as though the internet community is being censored and if I was to say something that someone doesn’t agree with what would or could be done to me, I just don’t know anymore, I thought I use to live in a free country and now I am just not so sure.
    Rosettasister I enjoy the music!!!! Do you like Van Morrison? I really like his song In the Mystic. Also the battle hymn of the rpublic brought tears to my eyes….

    so true rosetta, like i tell all my anti war friends…….while al quada was giving us their best shot in iraq, Obama and democrats said we lost, wanted to turn in run, and instead, the rupublicans turned around and we gave them OUR best shot, and kicked the living sh!t outta them. How any respecting self american say that Democrats wanted us to win there, to me, is a bold face liar.     I think we have to give this a chance.

    Hopefully, Obama will not attempt to govern the same way he campaigned.

    I heard something on Mike Gallagher radio show I think from yesterday about a grassroots organization for people who don’t want the pendulum to swing too far to the left.

    You should know that I consider myself a Lieberman Democrat, a dying breed I fear.

    Not that I agree with Lieberman 100% of the time. I don’t.

The many democrats that I know that still have the values that I grew up with are no longer in control of the Democratic Party.     I started following the API story when WND posted a story about it. I think it was WND? When the API site was hacked and then closed, I began looking for follow up info and MS was the first place I posted via Google search. I quickly realized that the character of many of their members was not up to par with my personal standards and that’s why I chose to post on your site.

    Just to let you know, and anyone else here, that my normal hangout is a Christian message board

We and others have proven beyond any conceivable doubt that Barack Obama does not meet the legal requirements to serve as President of the United States. In particular, our reference to Chief Editor Korir’s trip to the UK was greeted with remarks such as “Also noted is this from the MarchReport article which is at the new API site: ‘All of this took place while Mr. Korir was en route from Norway to the UK regarding arrangements for release of the Michelle Obama Tapes.’ What? I thought he went to Canada?” and “I thought he was going to Canada?? Which is is??” [sic]

    I posted the reply, “Canada is in the United Kingdom.” The thread then went dead. For the benefit of those ‘commentators,’ here’s a link to the Canada-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce web site. Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle of a constitutional crisis with you! And THESE are the people who presume to insult Mr. Korir’s intelligence and integrity. Puh-leeez! Get a geography book.
    Today, we present a full-page ad run in the Washington Times Weekly on November 17, 2008 to educate the public on this issue and solicit support; a link to API’s new site, which is up-and-running despite the best efforts of the kool-aide drinkers, a look at the documentary “How Obama Got Elected,” and information on Article III of the Constitution and the Marbury v. Madison decision, which lay the foundation for the Supreme Court’s authority in this matter……

    The site claims that google search results are pulling her site on issues but they pull other sites claiming the exact same thing atlas shrugs does. I know googles algorhythm is insane and does block out those that artificially pump up hits. There are also many ways to fall out of hit results.

    I would put more stake to her claim if she could point out multiple sites that google results dropped.. the fact you make a search and get the same info makes no sense if you are trying to censor out information.

    it frustrates me so much that completely uniformed, blind Obama supporters cancelled our informed voters. I understand a far left voter going for Obama.     here is my take on ESQ and the dems as a whole. WMD’s were found in iraq, like the mustard gas shells that were burried, the nulcear components that were buried. There take on it, well, it wasnt a stockpile and they were there prior to 1991. Um…so…the fact is that, they werent suppose to have them at all. And to actually think that that they were the only ones there before the invasion is like catching your wife cheat on you, to actually think that the first time you caught her, was the first time it actually happened, is ignorant at best.     I wanted to clear up a factial point on the Uranium shipped to Canada from Iraq. That has been done. I see no point in rehashing justifications, threats, and so on down the line. We need to get Iraq fully secure the government functions fully the internal security completely ready for full control and move on what happened in the past happened.

    the trick is, what he says in there in the early years of the war, its the middle ranks that were poor, sargents and leutinants and such take a career to get that kinda leadership, it just doesnt happen overnite like dems think.

    Sure you flat out refuse to go to a left leaning website to read an interview and than send me to the heritage foundation (a building in much much much younger years I might of peed on once) .

    I do give more faith in petraeus than many inside of the adminstration. But the problem still is that the white houses report on benchmarks last year was quite abit off from the Governmental Accountability Offices. I tend to trust the GAO a bit more the white house is a bit more invested in showing the bright side of things.

    I am set back from the Require part. Community service as opitional school credit or for a college tax or course credit I can get behind if it is mandiated the civil liberties side of me speaks up. I hope there is adjustment with proposed and actual. This is where our congresspeople come in handy…
