“The Chicago Annenberg Challenge, where William Ayers hired Barack Obama to be board chairman.” Stanley Kurtz

Obama has tried to downplay his connections to admitted domestic terrorist William Ayers (‘a guy who lives in my neighborhood,’ Obama said in a primary debate). But in papers from Ayers’ “Chicago Annenberg Challenge” released just this past week after a long battle, it appears the association between Obama and Ayers was much deeper. Obama served on the organization’s board for years, for a time as chairman. And Ayers hosted Obama’s first campaign fund-raiser.

Just to review, the public cannot get access to paperwork related to grants to distributed by then-state-legislator Obama (records from 1997 to 2000 aren’t available); his state legislative office records (which he says may have been thrown out); he refuses to release a specific list of law clients, instead giving a list of all of his firm’s clients, numbering several hundred each year; he won’t release his application to the state bar (where critics wonder if he lied in responding to questions about parking tickets and past drug use); he’s never released any legal or billing records to verify that he only did a few hours of work for a nonprofit tied to convicted donor Rezko; and he’s never released any medical records, just a one-page letter from his doctor.

Then there was the effort against Stanley Kurtz for his effort to examine documents relating to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, where William Ayers hired Obama to be board chairman.

Oh, and Biden has released his earmark requests for one year out of his 36 in the Senate.

But other than that, these guys are open books.

“The media/Hollywood tar & feathering … er … vetting of Sarah Palin”

The media… or the DNC, for that matter… having the chutzpah to dictate to the McCain campaign vetting criteria and standards, strikes me as petty, vindictive (for being left out of the info loop, of course), and above all, hypocritical.

Did anyone delve into the DNC vetting of Obama? Did the party leadership call personal friends (Rev. Jeremiah Wright) and fellow community organizers buds (like William Ayers)? Did they bother to try and check into Obama’s experience on education, like the Chicago Annenberg Challenge?

Were it not for a few conservative journalists like Hannity, Wright and the black theology teachings that form Obama’s mindset would never have come to light.

Were it not for intrepid citizens like Steve Diamond, the records of the CAC and relationship between Obama and William Ayers would be swept under the rug… all after a year and a half of 24/7, all-Obama-all-the-time media coverage.

“Group With Swift Boat Alumni Readies Ads Attacking Obama”

AIP emerged on the scene in August, airing controversial anti-Obama ads in four battleground states — Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan — that sought to raise questions about his ties to William Ayers, a member of the Vietnam War-era radical group known as the Weathermen. The ad was sponsored entirely — at a cost of more than $2 million — by Harold Simmons, a Dallas-based businessman who also helped fund the Swift boat activities four years ago.

We’re on the same track of discovery and full disclosure and media’s lack of interest thereof, happy to see you’re staying with this as well. Check out what we wrote about The NY Times piece we featured this morning http://neontv.typepad.com/neon/2008/09/rezko-soros-aye.html.

We’d be curious as to your impressions of our points and theirs.

But what is so patently biased and therefore unfair is the total pass The Times has given to Obama’s past in Chicago, their failure to dig into (as they did into Palin):

    1. Obama’s alleged ties with convicted Chicago developer Antoin Rezko

    2. Obama’s alleged long-term association with Weather Underground Leftist radical William Ayers

    3. How Obama and his family could sit in church Sunday after Sunday hearing the bile spewing from the hateful mouth of his religious counsel, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, especially when he says blacks should not sing ‘God Bless America’ but ‘God damn America.’

    4. Obama’s extensive relationship with perennial MoveOn.org supporter and alleged anti-Israel billionaire financier George Soros

Using Law School’s reasonable man test, we recommend that you compare Obama’s above past, which our illustrious media chooses to ignore, with what The Times’ now thinks is such damning evidence against Palin.

And Palin’s alleged transgressions sure as heck pale in gravity to Obama’s, dontcha think?

“Using Law School’s reasonable man test”

    I wonder what that is.

  4. [: neon :] Says:

The so-called Reasonable Man test was used years ago in Law Schools as a litmus test for trying to pre-determine how a judge or a jury would view a particular issue’s chance of success in litigation or in a legislative challenge.

    Thanks [: neon :] !
