The Sudetenland? When the German’s crossed the Rhine? Does any of this ring a bell?

Thank you for all of your insights, Leeballz.

I wonder how you and I, probably two very different people, have arrived at strikingly similar conclusions.

I know for me it was during the course of my studies when I came to the very sad conclusion that so long as thugs with big guns can do whatever they want to their own people, well, that the world wasn’t going to change much.

I often wonder if Hitler had only been killing German Jews inside of Germany, would the world have done anything about it?

    Sadly, I doubt it.

I know this stopped being the land of the free a long time ago, but when did it stop being the home of the brave?

I was listening to a show the other day where a caller was spouting off about isolationism and how it wasn’t America’s place to be the world police. The caller was asked if he heard his next door neighbor screaming for help from an attacker, would he would help. The caller replied, “I would call the police.” The host said, “And then what?” The caller said, “I’d wait for them to show up? That’s their job.” The host asked, “You wouldn’t go see if you could help?” The caller said, “Nope. It’s not my problem. It’s their problem.” Another caller called and said she also wouldn’t go next door to help either. The host asked her why. She said, “Well, I could get hurt.” The host said, “You COULD get hurt, but someone IS getting hurt.” She said something to the effect of “let the police take care of it.” The host said, “Help might be a half hour away!” The caller then stated again, she wouldn’t want to risk getting hurt.

I think people forget that helping those in need is what strong people should do. Besides, the more people you help, then the more people that will be willing to help you when you need it. Governments should act no different then a good neighbor.
