Shadow – I really felt like I wanted to cry at the townhall. And I think others felt that way as well. It was powerful, and done in a military way, with honor.
When he told the Hanoi Hilton story and how he turned down the chance to leave, I thought the roof was going to come off the place. And I thought I might cry again.
That, my friends, is what it’s all about. What McCain did. That is what courage and heroism is all about.
This is a guy who was shot down while volunteering for missions for the depleted crew of another aircraft carrier. He didn’t have to be in the sky at all. And then, because of his connections, he could have left his capture and torture — torture, not discomfort; torture — early.
So a guy who shouldn’tve been in the air at all has the chance to get out of being tortured for years to come.
And he passes it up, for his men and his country
I might start crying while I write this.
(You can see the details of the story, about McCain’s volunteering for the mission to help out the other aircraft carrier here, in a video I made up about McCain vs Obama:
“McCain vs Obama: Courage vs Cravenness”
That is what you hope your son grows up to be, what you hope to be as a person.
And this is the guy who the Obama punks want to disrespect by trying to stress that he was shot down, like he’s some kind of a loser for that, or disqualified from having military experience because he was a POW and not out running more missions.
F*cking disgraceful. Anybody who has military family realizes the total disgust and lack of understanding such remarks show.
